About Us
Founded on Community Values
Founded in 2011 by Kirstin Craig, VetsforPets Ayr is proudly locally owned and built around strong community values, personalised care, and trusted relationships. What started as a single practice in Ayr expanded to include Vets4Pets Irvine in 2019 and VetsforPets Kilmarnock in 2023, with all three practices sharing the same commitment to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.
As an independently owned Ayrshire team, we are passionate about supporting our local community and delivering exceptional veterinary care in a friendly and welcoming environment. We believe in treating every pet as if they were our own, whilst building long-lasting relationships with the families who trust us with their care.
Our experienced team is committed to providing modern veterinary medicine alongside a personal approach, ensuring every patient receives tailored care throughout every stage of life.
Meet our Clinical lead Vet
Dr Christine Nibloe
“Caring for the pets of the community where I grew up — and am proud to call home — means a great deal to me. I value building strong relationships with clients and enjoy recognising familiar faces and supporting pets throughout every stage of their lives.
I am proud to lead a caring, dedicated, and compassionate team who work tirelessly to deliver the highest standard of care and ensure our practice remains a welcoming and trusted place for pets and their owners.
For us, veterinary care is about more than medicine alone — it is about trust, compassion, communication, and supporting owners to make the best decisions for their pets.”

Meet the team
I qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 2000 and have been working in small animal practices in Ayrshire since then. I have been a partner at Vets for Pets Ayr since 2011 and have recently become a partner at Vets for pets Irvine. I aim to provide an excellent standard of veterinary care to our patients and look forward to meeting you. I enjoy all aspects of my work but have a particular interest in all types of surgery and rabbit medicine. Outside work I enjoy riding my horse Obi and relaxing at home with my dogs Blue a red collie, Beryl the merle collie, Harry the rescue cat and my ever expanding collection of chickens!
Hello my name is Christine, I have been at Vets for Pets Ayr since the early days, starting in 2013. I graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 2009 and initially worked in a small animal practice in Yorkshire but always wanted to return home to Ayrshire.
I appreciate being in a practice where I recognise lots of patients and have known many of them since they were puppies or kittens. For me, getting to know pets and their owners is one of the best parts of the job. It’s a real privilege to be able to provide ongoing care for so many wonderful animals. I enjoy being a general practitioner and the variety that the job brings. I particularly like working with cats and caring for our more senior animals.
Out of work, I am kept busy with my 2 little boys. We are frequent visitors to the local parks and soft plays! I also have my 2 loyal cats, Harry and Jack, who have been with me since I worked in Leeds. They are typical vet pets as they had injuries requiring surgery when I rehomed them. They are extremely pampered boys and are quick to claim any cosy blankets or warm spots in the house.
Hi I’m Catherine, one of the vets at Vets for pets in Ayr. I have worked with the team part-time since 2017; and in 2022 I returned to veterinary practice full-time after 10 years as a Biology teacher at Wellington School. I love my job - it comes with a rollercoaster of emotions, but it is a real privilege to be with clients and their lovely pets through good times and bad. I volunteer with StreetVet in Glasgow - they are a lovely charity with a real heart for the homeless. Outside of work my absolute favourite thing is travelling. I worked for Christian Veterinary Mission in Haiti, Nepal and Uganda which I really loved. In 2024 I went to Ukraine as part of an amazing team with Worldwide Vets. Family trips with my daughter Logan and son David often involve supporting their dad Alastair competing in Ironman races. Our demanding cat Purdey likes to keep us on our toes; and our lovely Labrador Inca is a therapy dog and one of our willing blood donors ❤️
Hi, I'm Caolan! I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2011 and I’ve worked in Scotland since. I worked in mixed practice for three years before deciding to concentrate on small animal practice.
I have a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and I`m In the process of completing a surgical certificate.
I live in South Ayrshire with my Wife, daughter and two small terriers. Outside of work I enjoy hillwalking and mountain biking.
My name is Kate, I graduated from Edinburgh Dick Vet and worked for many years in small animal practice in Lancashire. I have recently returned to Scotland and am enjoying settling in Ayrshire.
I enjoy redecorating houses and walking my standard poodle on the beach in my spare time.
Hello, my name is Alastair. I grew up in Ayr and qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 2010. I have returned to Ayrshire after 13 years practicing in The North West of England, mainly Merseyside. I have an ageing rescue cat named Dottie who has made the journey with me for her first time coming to Scotland.
Hi I'm Laura, I'm one of the vets at Vets for Pets Ayr!
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in July 2022. I'm originally from South Ayrshire, however I've spent the last year working in Glasgow before deciding to make the move back to my home town.
At home I have a very naughty Jack Russell puppy called Buzz who was actually a graduation present. He is constantly getting himself into trouble and keeps me on my toes.
In my spare time I enjoy hill walking, running, going to the gym and enjoying the Scottish countryside with Buzz and my parents Jack Russell Chuck.
I am super grateful and excited to be able to work alongside an amazing team who helped to train me as a student and I am looking forward to meeting lots of our clients over the next few months.
Hi, I’m Amy, one of the vets at Vets for Pets Ayr! I joined the team in August 2025 after spending four years working in mixed practice in Yorkshire. I’ve recently completed a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, with a focus on ultrasound and X-rays. My other interests include medicine and laparoscopic surgery.
I have two Scottish Terriers, Nessie and Morag, who keep me busy outside of work. In my spare time, I enjoy getting outdoors, exploring new places, and unwinding with friends and family.
I originally worked for Vets for Pets in Ayr where I qualified from in 2014. Since then I have worked at The Royal Dick School of Veterinary Medicine in Edinburgh where I got experience in all areas of the hospital through ICU, surgical/medicine wards and exotics. I have also worked for local veterinary practices carrying out tasks such as monitoring anaesthetics, nurse consultations and patient care. I then started locum work mostly around Vets for Pets surgeries which gave me a great insight into how each individual surgery works. I have been part owner in Irvine since 2017 and recently became a partner in our Kilmarnock branch.
I really enjoy running nurse clinics as I find them really rewarding and feel like it builds up a really good relationship with both clients and patients.
At home I have 3 collies who I love spending time with and taking walks to the river for some fun.
I graduated from Napier University in 2013 with my degree in Veterinary Nursing. I joined the Vets for Pets team in Ayr in 2023, after a stint of 8 years living and working in Stranraer before moving home to Ayrshire in 2021.
Vet Nursing is the best job in the world to me. Being involved in nursing so many pets is so special and rewarding. I particularly enjoy in-patient care and diagnostic imaging. I am very privileged to lead our fabulous team of Nurses here, who between them and the rest of the team make every day at work so much better.
In my spare time I do a lot of walking with my Sprocker, Bear. He’s helped drag me up many hills in our time together! I also enjoy doing a lot of hyrox/crossfit style workouts, as well as playing rugby for Ayr ladies rugby team.
Hi!
I’m Grace, and I’m one of the registered veterinary nurses. I’ve been qualified for four years, and completed my training here as a student, so will be an old face to many clients and pets.
I love the many roles my job provides, in particular caring for in-patients, and anaesthesia tasks. I’ve also taken on a new role this year where I help to coach student nurses with their training in the practice.
Outside of work I have the family dogs - Kaiser and Nala, and ruling the roost of my house is my cat Luna, who thinks she is also a dog and will even play fetch!
I always look forward to each day at work as each day is so different, but mainly to see all your lovely pets! 🐱🐶🐰
I have been a nurse for 35 years now, worked originally in a single handed practice, mixed practice and finally a SA hospital in my hometown of Burnley, Lancashire.
I ran the nurse clinic inside the hospital for 20 years and finally made the long awaited move to Scotland 3 weeks ago hoping for a change of pace and lifestyle.
I have 2 grown up daughters, Mia 26 and Eve 21, an 8 year old Boston terrier called Betty and a teeny tiny 3 year old black cat called Creepy.
I love swimming, music and the adventure of outdoors. I play the piano and the drums and I have a couple of motorbikes to ride when the weather permits.
I was a dancer for 25 years but prefer to kick my heels up with friends and a glass of prosecco nowadays.
I am very much looking forward to the challenges of my new role at Vets for pets, and serving the people of my newly adopted town.

Hi, I’m Georgina, the Business Director working across our Ayr, Irvine and Kilmarnock practices. We’re proudly independently owned, and I run the Irvine practice alongside my business partners, vet, Kirstin and nurse, Marion. I’m also a business partner in our Kilmarnock practice and support the team at Ayr as part of my multi practice role.
I joined Vets4Pets Ayr in 2013 after returning from maternity leave, having previously worked in retail management for nine years. We then opened Irvine together as partners in 2017, followed by Kilmarnock in 2023.
I help support our brilliant team of 52 colleagues, and I feel very lucky to work with such a caring group who are so dedicated to our patients and clients. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and our Cocker Spaniel, Kingsley (who definitely rules the house!), as well as my two cats, Panther and Pickle.
Hi, I’m Dana! I’ve been working as a Client Care Advisor since May 2024 and absolutely love meeting our clients and getting to know their wonderful pets. Being part of a team that cares so much about animals makes every day rewarding, and I enjoy helping create a welcoming experience for everyone who visits the practice.
Outside of work, I have two lively German Shorthaired Pointers, Jude and Tilly, who certainly keep life busy and full of energy! I also have a huge passion for horses. One of my proudest achievements has been bringing my two ponies, Bear and Gimli, up to HOYS level in Working Hunter — an experience that has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding.
Hi, I’m Charlotte! I joined the practice in August and have been really enjoying my time here so far. I especially love meeting new clients and getting to know everyone who comes into the practice.
Outside of work, I have two cats called Paris and Fawkes who keep me busy and provide plenty of entertainment at home. I also love spending time with my family and friends and going on holiday!
Hello, I'm Nicola and l have recently joined the Vets for Pets team as a veterinary care assistant.
I live on a farm in the local area and love being around animals especially my two Labradors named Cassie and Heidi.
In my free time I enjoy walking my dogs. I am a member of the local young farmers which I enjoy competing in a variety of events and socialising with friends.
Hello, I’m Susan. I started working here at Vets for Pets in June 2023. I absolutely love it and such a good team to be a part of.
This was me getting back to work after having my youngest daughter. I have 4 kids and a step son that range from 19 down to 2 and 1/2 so there is rarely a dull moment in our house.
It’s great getting to work with all sorts of animals and meeting new people all the time and building a relationship with clients and their pets.
We have two Border terriers, two cats and a bearded dragon at home, so we have our own miniature zoo in the house, but I would happily have 100 more. The dream is a small holding so we can give as many rescue animals home as we can. You never know, maybe one day.
Hello, I’m Kayleigh and I joined the Vets for Pets team as a veterinary care assistant in December 2023.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my horses and taking Zach out for walks. I also enjoy being outdoors and socialising with friends whenever I can.
I have a real passion for animals, especially my two horses, Jimbob and Rose, and I love caring for them as part of my daily life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some frequently asked questions. However, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly — our team is always happy to help.
1. Do you offer health plans for my pet?
Yes, we offer our Complete Care Health Plan. This plan helps cover your pet’s routine preventative healthcare, including vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and veterinary consultations, along with a range of additional benefits. It can also help save money compared to paying for these services individually, while spreading the cost conveniently throughout the year with monthly payments. For more information, please speak to our friendly team, who will be happy to help.
2. What healthcare services do you provide?
We offer a wide range of veterinary services to support your pet’s health and wellbeing throughout their life. These include veterinary and nurse consultations, routine and emergency surgery, laparoscopic (keyhole) spaying, ultrasound, digital X-ray, and a fully equipped dental suite. We also provide access to advanced services such as dermatology and orthopaedic surgery, alongside many other diagnostic, medical, and surgical treatments. Our experienced team is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care tailored to the individual needs of every pet. If you’d like a tour of the practice and facilities, please let our team know and we would be happy to arrange this.
3. When are appointments available?
We offer appointments for both routine and emergency cases six days a week, Monday to Saturday. Our opening hours are 8:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday, and 8:30am to 5:00pm on Saturdays. We understand that pets can become unwell unexpectedly, and our team works hard to provide timely appointments and support whenever your pet needs us.
4. When do I need to pay for treatment?
Payment is due at the time of treatment or consultation. To help spread the cost of veterinary care, we also offer Klarna as a payment option, allowing eligible clients to spread payments over three instalments or access deferred payment options.
Many pet owners also have pet insurance. In some cases, we may be able to arrange a direct claim with your insurance provider, meaning payment is made directly to the practice. This is subject to eligibility criteria, insurance checks, and a minimum claim value. Our team will be happy to discuss the options available to you.
Our friendly Ayr team looks forward to welcoming you and your pets.
