Kidderminster Vets for Pets

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2002 and have always worked in small animal practice.

I am interested in all aspects of first opinion veterinary practice and in particular I like soft tissue surgery and have achieved the General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. This is a post-graduate qualification based on 2 years further training from surgical specialists, course work and examinations meaning that I can now perform more advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. 

Most of my time is currently spent either at the practice or  “family time”. When I do get the chance I enjoy "adventure activities" and travel. I have recently passed my motorbike licence (something I have wanted to do since I was 14 years old not just a mid-life crisis!)

Before setting up the practice I was a qualified "paraglider pilot" and would like to get back into this when I have some more free time. 

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2002 and spent my first few years working in mixed practice up in Shropshire. I then decided to concentrate my abilities solely on small animal work, with Edd and myself setting up Kidderminster Vets for Pets in 2013.

I love meeting all the clients and their animals and the unpredictable nature of the job - you really never know what each day will bring. I have a particular interest in ultrasonography and enjoy all aspects of consulting.

With two boys and a young Labrador who I’m trying to train, home life is busy and I spend most of my time outside of work running round after these guys and my husband Edd.

I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2012 after graduating from Harper Adams University and have been the proud Head Nurse here since 2024. Throughout my career, I have developed a particular passion for feline nursing, wound healing and acute pain management, and have gained additional certificates in each of these areas.

I particularly enjoy being actively involved in complex medical and surgical cases, working closely with patients throughout their treatment journey, and seeing them recover and return home healthy and happy. Supporting patients and their owners through challenging times is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role.

As Head Nurse, I am passionate about maintaining high standards of patient care and keeping the team up to date with current nursing protocols. Supporting the wellbeing of my colleagues is also very important to me, I hold a Mental Health First Aid certificate and strive to create a positive and supportive working environment where everyone feels valued and encouraged to grow.

Outside of work, I spend time crafting, gardening and Lego building with my two young children. I’m also big fan of heavy metal and rock music and love going to live gigs.

I qualified as a RVN in 2021 from Pershore college, after previously been a human nurse and a graphic designer. Animals have always been a big part of my life having had many different pets since I was very small so love that I now have combined the two nursing careers.  

Animals really are my family, I am currently servant to 2 cockapoos (the infamous Boris and Lola), a sassy British Shorthair cat, 2 chinchillas and 2 lineolated parakeets.  

I have completed three BSAVA Vet Nurse Merit Awards in Surgical Nursing, Medical Nursing and Nutrition, along with a Certificate in Consulting.  I really enjoy meeting everyone in consults and building the long term relationships with clients and pets, but I really do enjoy the variety and challenges that being a vet nurse brings. 

Outside of work I play Baritone Saxophone and Bass Clarinet in a local concert band, sing with a local community choir, grow all sorts in my allotment and making all sorts of crafty things.

I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse qualifying in 2015 with a particular interest in inpatient care, diagnostic imaging, and anaesthesia monitoring. I have completed a Certificate in Surgical Nursing, which has further developed my skills and knowledge in surgical patient care. Alongside my clinical role, I am a Clinical Supervisor, supporting and mentoring student veterinary nurses throughout their training and development.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my young son and keeping up with my two cheeky dogs, who certainly keep life busy and entertaining.

I am a Student Veterinary Nurse and began studying in 2023.

In practice, I conduct consultations for clients, prepare medications for patients, monitor anaesthetics during surgery and provide care for inpatients whether they are in for surgery or for hospitalisation.

I especially enjoy inpatient care- providing inpatients with comfort and support whether this is during general treatment or following a surgery.

I enjoy learning new things and keeping up to date with the best ways to support all patients and clients during their visits here. There is always something new and interesting to learn here, whether it is about animal anatomy or up to date medications to support patients.

Outside of work, I enjoy caring for my own pets including long dog walks with my dogs; Doris and Kaiser or just relaxing and having cuddles with my cats; Lynx and Remmy.

Hi, I'm Jane. I'm married with one Son and a busy household that includes three dogs, one cat, two bunnies and six chickens, so animals have always been a huge part of my life!

When I'm not at work, I love spending weekends at our caravan with my Husband and our dogs, enjoying long walks, relaxing outdoors, and making family memories. 

My passion for animals and their wellbeing makes working in a Vet Practice incredibly rewarding, and I enjoy helping both our patients and their owners feel welcome and supported whenever they visit us.

Hi I'm Caroline, I have worked here as a receptionist for 7 years.

I really enjoy working here, it's varied and fast paced, no 2 days are ever the same.  I also love meeting all of the animals that come into the Practice to meet us.

Outside of work, I spend my time with family and friends; I enjoy holidays, going to the theatre and being outside walking our dogs (and going with them to cafes!)

Spending time with my young granddaughter is my absolute favourite thing to do!

My name is Gemma Tyrer a busy mum of two girls, dog mum to her cheeky French bulldog Louie, and a proud wife- all while holding down my role as receptionist at Vets for Pets for the past 6 years.

I absolutely love my job, especially getting to meet all the animals (and their humans) every day.

When I'm not at work it's all about family time, laughs and cuddles with Louie who definitely thinks he runs the house. Life is full on, a little chaotic, but always full of love (and probably a bit of dog hair too).
