I am a veterinary surgeon and one of the partners here at Vets4Pets Kirkby in Ashfield. I will be the main vet here and look forward to meeting all of our pets. I qualified as a Veterinary surgeon in 2011 from Nottingham University. Previous to starting at Kirkby I worked at a local Vets4Pets surgery and a small animal practice in Chesterfield. I enjoy all aspects of first opinion small animal practice but I have a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and internal medicine. I am kept very busy at home with my two dogs, Indie the Border Collie and Ivy my three legged Cocker Spaniel. I also have 3 cats, 2 horses, ducks, chickens and 2 rabbits. With my husband Matt I run Lime Grove Cattery in my back garden.

I qualified from Nottingham University in July 2020, but spent a lot of my placements here at Vets4Pets, Kirkby-in-Ashfield. I grew up in Sutton-in-Ashfield so first met the amazing team here when I brought my dogs to see them. Before studying to be a veterinary surgeon I did a BSc degree in biology and psychology. I enjoy the variety being a first opinion small animal practitioner brings, and find all aspects of medicine interesting. I also have a particular interest in all things exotic. I am kept busy at home with an ever expanding group of four-legged family members, which currently includes Myrtle my Basset Hound, a tortoise, a bearded dragon, two rabbits and a hedgehog. Outside of work I enjoy exercising, volunteering and travelling when I can! I look forward to meeting you and your pets, as well as catching up with some familiar faces!

I have worked with vets4pets for over 10 years and became a registered veterinary nurse in 2012, In my years with vets4pets I have learned a lot and taken up further qualifications in order to help improve my patient care skills. As well as being a veterinary nurse I am also a pet health care counsellor, a diabetes adviser and clinical coach (practical trainer and assessor of student veterinary nurses). The aspect of my job I find the most enjoyable are consults, as this allows me to help support and educate owners in preventative health care be it parasite control to behaviour concerns. This job allows me to learn something new and interesting everyday, which I have to admit I love being somewhat of a nerd.

I joined the Kirkby Vets4Pets team in October 2018 as a Registered Veterinary nurse.

Amongst my experience I have also worked in a Referral Veterinary Hospital and a 24 hour Veterinary Surgery down in Hertfordshire where I qualified as an RVN in 2015.

Alongside my nursing role, I am also a clinical coach, this means mentoring the student veterinary nurses throughout their training. I have a keen interest in Anaesthesia, which I am currently studying a high level certificate for,in all small animal and exotic species.
I also have a soft spot for a spaniel, one of which I have of my own, a working Cocker Spaniel called Hattie- we love going out exploring the Peak District on the weekends. I also live at home with my partner and our new baby addition Lola!

I have recently joined the team at Kirkby In Ashfield from previously working at Pets at Home for the last 7 years.
