Advanced services
We have invested considerably in our team and kit to make a number of advanced services available to our clients. We also accept referrals from other veterinary practices.
Orthopaedics
Our veterinary team have undertaken advanced training to allow us to perform orthopaedic surgery in our practice. If your pet develops an abnormality involving their skeleton or joints, such as elbow dysplasia, a patella (kneecap) that gets stuck, or a torn cruciate ligament, an orthopaedic procedure may help them.

Ultrasound
We are pleased to be able to offer ultrasound scanning in practice, which is a painless way to look inside your pet’s body to find out what’s going on.

Meet the team
Dr André Escudeiro Vieites
Veterinary Surgeon
PgCert(SAS) MRCVS. Recognised RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery.
Andre came to the UK as a young new graduate with his, now wife, Gema, the Practice Manager, to experience “life in the UK” for a year (…) in 2002.
“Somehow we ended up staying a bit longer”, he says, “it gets busy with 2 children, 2 dogs and 2 and three quarter cats… and 2 Surgeries”. They opened their first Vets for Pets practice in Quinton in August 2011, followed by Selly Oak in 2015.
He has special interest in various Veterinary areas: ultrasound scanning, cardiology…but he has focused above all in Surgery. He obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2020 and he is recognised as Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons “Advanced Practioner in Small Animal Surgery”
He is currently working towards an Advanced Certificate in Orthopaedic Surgery.
I graduated from Warsaw Univerity of life science in Poland in 2011 and I have been working at Quinton and Selly Oak Vets for Pets since 2016.
I have a particular interest in feline medicine and soft tissue surgery and I have achieved the General Practice Certificate In Feline Practice. I love all my feline patients but my favourite breed is Ragdolls. I have two beautiful Ragdolls at home (Frida and Heidi).
In my free time I love to travel around the world and explore new places, spending time with my family (my husband and my son Alexander), training at the gym and practicing German on Duolingo.
I arrived to the UK back in 2002 with my today husband and business partner Andre after I finished my qualifications "International Executive Secretary". I just wanted to improve my English but after a wile in the UK I had my children and Vets for Pets offered us the opportunity to open our own practice. Andres, my husband was an experienced Vet and I could run the practice as a Practice Manager. We first opened Quinton Vets for Pets in 2011 and 4 years after we were given the opportunity to open our second practice Selly Oak Vets for Pets.
I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 wonderful children I like to spend the time with.
Nadia graduated from Cambridge University in 2012 and joined the team in 2016. Nadia enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, particularly getting to know her patients and their owners. She has a black cat called Severus and a Shihtu cross called Aberforth. Outside of work she spends as much time as possible with her young family.
I completed my studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and am now based in the UK to broaden my knowledge and experience. Growing up on a diary farm, I developed a strong passion for animals and deep appreciation for rural life, which continues to shape my personal and professional journey. I have a potato-loving cow named Nena.
I'm Anna, a veterinarian and recent graduate from Barcelona, passionate about keeping pets happy and healthy.
My labrador is my best friend, and I can't wait to care for all of yours too!
Irene joined the team in May 2023 from Spain. Over the last 2 years she has developed a great interest in Imaging. She has now enrolled on a imaging certificate.
Amy joined the Selly Oak Team back in 2016 as a receptionist but she soon realized that she would like to become a Veterinary Nurse. Since September 2020 she has joined our Nurse Team as Student Veterinary Nurse.
Amy became a Registered Veterinary Nurse in October 2024!!!!
I am Tracey, I have been a Registered Nurse since 2020. I have two dogs, two cats and I enjoy meeting clients and patients. I have an interest in weight clinics, so if you have any concern, please just ask for me! It's extremely rewarding seeing the fantastic progress they make and seeing them for the joyous personality that they are.
I have recently become a certificate holder in Surgical Nursing and enjoy all aspects of assisting with surgery, including suturing, Ataesthesia and Theatre Practice.
Kerry first started in 2015 at the Quinton Branch but soon moved to Selly Oak to lead the Nurse Team. Since she joined us, she married and had a lovely baby.
Her chubby cat is called Audrey who is on a diet.
Ellie is our Deputy Practice Manager and a Student Veterinary Nurse in her last year at College. She has been working in practice since 2014 and joined the team here in 2018.
She has a cheeky Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Rico and enjoys relaxing with him when she's not at work.
I have been part of the team since 2021 where I started my Veterinary Nursing course and I have now been qualified since April 2024. I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Prince whose favourite activity is licking everything in sight!
