Meet the team
I am Ruth Harrison (the Scottish one!)... the oldie goldie of the Practice. I have worked as a vet for over 30 years now! And I have been in charge at Bolton since 2009. I have a fabulous team of nurses, vets, reception staff and students who work with me here and support my efforts to run a caring and efficient vet practice. I live now in Leyland so a bit of a journey to work every day and spend any spare time I have with my lovely husband, children and growing brood of grandchildren (feeling my age!). I have 2 old border terriers that also keep me on my toes! I play saxophone in a soul band and love gardening and spending time with my friends and family.
Hi, I’m Jennifer but everyone calls me Jen and I am one of the new Partners. I grew up locally but went to the Royal Veterinary College in London. Since qualifying in 2014 I have come back up North and now live locally again. Currently I have no pets of my own but enjoy cat sitting when my parents go on holiday. Outside of work I love to go swimming, especially outside and enjoy walking/hiking with friends followed by a good pub meal. I look forward to meeting you and treating your fury companions.
Hi, I'm Becky, I joined the team here in January 2017 after relocating from Bristol. I am interested in all aspects of small animal veterinary care, working with animals is a real privilege and I enjoy getting to care for your lovely pets every day! In my spare time I enjoy rock climbing and mountaineering, so I am often found dashing round the country to my next weekend adventure!
Hi, my name is Chris and I’m the head veterinary nurse here at Vets4Pets. I have 12 years in practice experience and I qualified in 2010 as a registered veterinary nurse. I did all my training in a veterinary hospital, post qualification I was the sole night nurse for an emergency service so I am experienced with patient care and A&E practice. I live with my two kittens Emmy and Alister, both have had one eye removed as babies so if you see a one eyed cat on someone’s shoulder when you visit, it will probably be one of mine.
Hi, my name is Miriam, I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2014 then went back to university to gain a BSC Hons degree in veterinary nursing. I love being a veterinary nurse and caring for your pets here at Bolton Vets4Pets, I have been working here since 2011. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, I am married with 2 children, going to the gym and socialising with friends. I have a springer spaniel called Casper who we have had for a number of years since he was 8 weeks old and is a much loved member of our family.
Hi I’m Karla one of the new Partner’s here at Bolton Vets4Pets!! I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2012 after gaining my degree at Myerscough College. After being a student nurse here 7 years ago I re-joined in 2018. I have gained further experience in both small animal practice and referral practice, as a Dermatology Nurse. I am lucky to be part of a great team and doing a job I enjoy.
Out of work I enjoy riding and caring for my horse Kody. I also have a new addition to the family in the form of a Border terrier puppy named Walter Ernest. I am looking forward to seeing how he grows up and taking him on many walks. Other passed times I enjoy are spending quality time with my family and friends.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets………
