Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from Edinburgh in 1993 and have worked in Small Animal Practice since graduating.

I had my own practice for 18 years but with increasing paperwork and management demands, gave it up at the end of 2018 to get back to clinical practice.

I’m a very experienced medic and surgeon able to do a wide range of general and complex procedures, so there’s little that’s possible in general practice that I can’t or won’t do, but always with respect to the owners wishes.

I also love rabbit and ‘small furry’ medicine & surgery and I’m enjoying seeing the large number of these patients we have here as well as all the dogs & cats.

I intend to stay at Vets for Pets for the rest of my career and hope to see the practice flourish with what myself and the team have to offer you and your pet.

Hi, I’m Áine—a veterinary surgeon who graduated from Dublin University in 2011, with a special passion for feline medicine. Cats have always fascinated me—their quirks, independence, and charm. Outside the clinic, I enjoy keeping fit, exploring fashion, and spending time with my husband and our cheeky cat, Niles, who never fails to keep life interesting.

Hello, my name is Hannah. I’m a Pet Health Advisor here at Bolton Central Vets for Pets. I have always wanted to work with animals since I was younger. I studied Animal Management at college and then went onto do a degree in Animal Behaviour. I enjoy developing my knowledge on different animal’s needs and behaviours whilst working here at the practice! I have a Staffy called Ozzie and over the years have had several cats, guinea pigs and fish. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends. I also enjoy taking Ozzie for long walks.

Amber

Client Care Advisor

Read Amber bio

Hello! My name is Amber and I’m the newest member of the reception team. Growing up in the countryside I’ve had a passion for all things animal and nature related from a young age. As I have gotten older my enthusiasm has only grown and I have been very lucky enough to have had the opportunity to start my career within the veterinary field. I have previous experience as a veterinary care assistant at another Vets for Pets practice and am very happy to now be able to offer my knowledge to all the wonderful clients and pets here at Bolton Central.

When I’m not at work you can usually find me out walking with my family or baking in the kitchen. I’ve had a menagerie of animals over the years but currently only have my cat Twinkle and my dog Bella (and they’re more than enough!) Whether it has scales, antennae, feathers or fur you can guarantee that I’ll love them all and I can’t wait to make new animal and human friends along the way on this new adventure.

As a Client Care Advisor, I’m proud to be the first point of contact for clients, helping to ensure every experience is welcoming, supportive, and stress-free. I’m passionate about providing clear communication, efficient service, and a friendly approach, whether over the phone or in person. Outside of work, I’m kept busy by my three wonderful dogs—Carlisle, Dennis, and Jesse—who bring plenty of joy (and just the right amount of chaos) to my everyday life. My love for animals and commitment to helping people go hand in hand, and I’m always here to offer a helping hand whenever it’s needed.
