Catherine MacPherson

Veterinary Surgeon

Hi, I’m Catherine, known to most as Cat. I qualified as a vet from the University of Edinburgh in 2007 and have been working here at Bradford Vets4Pets since July 2018. I love working here and feel very privileged to be allowed to care for so many wonderful patients and to be trusted to do so by such lovely clients alongside a really supportive team.

I am passionate about all aspects of veterinary care but have a certificate in advanced veterinary practice centred around further study in Internal Medicine.

I usually work part-time to allow me to spend time with my husband and care for our 2 children, 2 dogs, cat, and 2 guinea pigs. Life is busy, never dull but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Favourite animal and why: I am very bias but have to say my favourite animal is my little kitten Hissy! She is so loving but can be a cheeky little devil when she wants to be! What pets do you have and what are their names: I have a little kitten called Hissy, she was found under a bush when she was 3 weeks old with a badly infected eye, she had to have it removed. She was so naughty when she was bought into the practice hence the name Hissy! I also have a cat called Ella; she is the socialite of the area, always out and about with her cat friends! I have another cat called Millie, she is a lot more chilled out, but she keeps Hissy in check! My dog is called Pebbles; she is the apple of my eye and can not put a paw wrong! What is the best pet’s name you have ever come across: I had a hamster when I was little called stew pot, he was meant to be called Stuart from Stuart Little but it got changed along the way! What is your favourite famous animal: Simba from the Lion King. What is the best thing about working for Vets4Pets: We have a lovely friendly team, and enjoy learning something new every day!
