Rhiannon is our Practice Owner and Veterinary Surgeon.

As both the owner and a vet, Rhiannon involved in every aspect of the practice — from consultations and surgery to supporting our brilliant team and shaping the future of the clinic. She is passionate about delivering high standards of care and creating a practice environment where both patients and staff can thrive.

Animals have always been at the centre of her life, and that certainly doesn’t stop at work! At home, she has a lively household filled with dogs, cats, and a few more unusual exotics. Rhiannon is an enthusiastic attendee of dog shows and love the dedication, training, and competition involved — and her and her Canine Companions often come home with a win! She is also actively involved in gun dog training which she loves.

When she is not in practice, you’ll likely find her at the beach with the dogs, whatever the weather, usually with children in tow. She also enjoys keeping active at the gym — she certainly isn’t one for sitting still and much prefer a busy schedule to a quiet one. In fact, she actually thrives on it!

Running a practice, raising a family, and caring for a house full of animals keeps life full and fast-paced — and Rhiannon wouldn’t have it any other way.

Jo is one of our Veterinary Surgeons.

Jo was born and grew up in Cornwall and since qualifying in 2000. Jo has always worked in Cornwall, initially in mixed practice as she has a love for cows, but has been in small animal practice for many years now. She loves the Consulting aspect of Veterinary work - meeting and forming a bond with clients and their pets and being able to help them with their problems. In her spare time Jo enjoys being outdoors, cycling and walking are her passion for keeping fit and taking time out. She also enjoys doing crochet. Jo has a bonkers (but lovable) rescue cat called Florence.

Naomi is our Head Veterinary Nurse.

Naomi has a particular interest in Nurse Clinics and inpatient care. She completed her nursing degree in a referral hospital and has since worked in general practice before joining Vets for Pets Penzance. In 2017 she became a Pet Health Councillor and has since been dedicated to supporting pets through whatever life throws at them from weight loss, to managing life-long conditions. Her furry family includes two beautiful Ragdoll cats.

Outside of work, she loves nothing more than spending time with her family, and adventuring in the great outdoors with her little boy, particularly spending time near the sea.

Meg is hard working and brings a variety of skills to our team. She is always willing to help clients and patients wherever needed, and particularly enjoys Nurse Clinics.  

Meg has been with us since we opened, we have seen her go through her Nurse Training and Qualify, and we are so proud of her achievements. We are also grateful for her determination.

Outside of work, Meg spends her time with her two boys, and her Dachshund Rex, often having days out by the sea. She also has a Horse, Timmy.

Beth has been a valued member of the team for over eight years, bringing warmth, dedication, and a genuine passion for patient care to everything she does. She particularly enjoys working in inpatient care, where her natural compassion shines.
A true team player, Beth is known for her versatility and willingness to take on any role to support both patients and colleagues. Her caring nature and positive attitude make her an integral part of the team, helping to create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.
Outside of work, Beth leads a lively life surrounded by animals, with a house full of furry companions keeping her busy. In her downtime, she enjoys relaxing in front of the TV or getting out for walks with her dogs—her favourite animals, as she says, because “they love you regardless.”
Beth is also a firm believer in the importance of life’s simple pleasures, and you’ll often find her enjoying a well-earned afternoon tea and biscuits. Her kindness, humour, and dedication make her a joy to work with and a reassuring presence for those in her care.

Ali brings plenty of energy and positivity to the team. Her role involves supporting our vets during procedures, running nurse consultations, providing attentive inpatient care, and making sure every patient feels as comfortable and stress-free as possible during their visit. Ali passionate about advocating for animal welfare and prides herself on being calm, capable, and ready for whatever the day throws at us.

Ali is also a dog and cat owner, therefore she completely understands how important pets are as part of the family.

When She is not in scrubs, you will likely find her on the rugby pitch, where she can channel her competitive side but she also loves a good pamper session when she can although finding the time is another matter, as outside of work she is just as busy spending time with her family.

She is known for being upbeat and always ready to greet your pets with a smile - but above all, she is dedicated to providing excellent care and being a supportive member of our fantastic team

Laura has been working within clinics for over 20 years - many of which have been with Vets For Pets! Her main interests in Veterinary Nursing are Surgical and Medical Nursing. 

Laura is a great asset to the team, bringing skill and knowledge, and always there to help clients with any concerns that they may have. 

Laura lives with her family near Gwithian, and another member of the team that has a house full of pets! Cats, dogs and chickens live on her premises, and she also owns horses.

Her days off are often busy, but her hobbies include horse riding, kayaking and cycling.

Jess has been with us for many years, kindly volunteering in her spare time. Jess has now decided to study her Veterinary Nursing at Duchy College.

She has been working incredibly hard to gain her Nursing Qualification, and has been such a wonderful addition to our team.

Jess loves all types of animals, and has owned a variety of unusual ones, but now has her own little Daschund Puppy called Tyson.

Outside of work, she enjoys weight lifting, boxing and swimming.

Luke is a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Veterinary Nurse who supports the clinical team across all aspects of patient care. In his role, he assists with a wide range of student veterinary nursing duties.
Luke has a particular interest in laboratory work, where he enjoys developing his technical skills and attention to detail. He is keen to expand his knowledge further, with a strong ambition to gain more experience in surgical procedures and anaesthesia.
Outside of work, Luke enjoys spending time with his two cats and values his close bond with his twin. He has a passion for fishing, and also enjoys carpentry, where he can apply his practical skills in a creative way. A self-confessed fan of pasties, Luke brings a friendly and positive energy to the team—especially when it’s lunchtime, his favourite part of the day!
With his proactive attitude and eagerness to learn, Luke is a valued member of the team and is committed to growing within the veterinary profession.

Jackie is a highly experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 20 years’ experience. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for clinical excellence, practical leadership, and an unwavering commitment to improving animal welfare standards.

She has founded the Charity  UK Vet Nurses Worldwide, and created a global community dedicated to supporting veterinary professionals and strengthening care in under-resourced regions. Her work regularly takes her overseas, where she collaborates with underprivileged veterinary clinics and supports initiatives focused on improving the lives of street dogs. From hands-on nursing and training to mentoring local teams, she is passionate about sharing knowledge that creates sustainable, long-term impact.

Jackie brings honesty, resilience, and good humour to everything she does. Outside of work, she is at her happiest on a paddleboard or spending time with her much-loved (and impressively senior) pets. While she occasionally jokes about feeling as old as they are—and about retiring early—those who know her understand that she thrives on purpose and would never stay still for long.

Jane is our Practice Manager.

Jane will oversee the day-to-day running of the practice, ensuring everything operates smoothly behind the scenes so our clinical team can focus on delivering outstanding patient care. With a wealth of experience in practice management, she is a natural problem solver and enjoy finding practical solutions to whatever challenges the day brings.

From handling insurance claims and navigating the more complex administrative tasks, to supporting the team during busy or demanding periods, Jane is always happy to step in wherever and whenever needed. Jane also takes her role as chief morning coffee maker very seriously — a well-caffeinated team is a productive team!

Jane is incredibly proud of the team we’ve built and she works hard to maintain a positive, supportive environment. When she does take a well-earned holiday, she is often missed!

Outside of work, Jane would happily spend most of her time at home with her dog, Dexter. But until retirement calls, she is committed to keeping the practice organised, supported, and moving forward every day.

Lorna moved to Cornwall in 2007 & started working for Vets for Pets Penzance in the autumn of 2020 – during Covid! She qualified as an Animal Nursing Assistant in 2021 & then went on to complete her Silver Award Level in reception with BVRA.

She is now a qualified SQP (Suitably Qualified Person - Pharmacy) and is most often now found working in dispensary. Lorna has 2 kids, 2 cats, and 2 dogs- Spud & Sprout that keep her busy. She loves greeting familiar faces & welcoming new, as well as learning about all the different exotic pets that come through the practice. Outside of work Lorna enjoys reading, aerial fitness, pilates, walks around Cornwall, tattoos, and surprising people with her ever changing hair colour!

Melanie is our Head Receptionist and usually the first point of contact for our clients and works hard to keep the front of house running smoothly and efficiently. From coordinating appointments to supporting the team day-to-day, she will help make sure everything stays organised and welcoming. Melanie also proudly looks after our fish tank, ensuring our aquatic residents are just as well cared for as the rest of our patients!

Melanie is a devoted cat lover, her Cat Raffy being her world! Much of what she does is inspired by making sure pets receive the very best care (with a special soft spot for feline friends!). When she is not at work, she enjoys quiet beach day here in Cornwall — ideally when it’s peaceful and calm, however, she is also a big fan of snowy weather… even if it’s a rare treat for us down here!

Melanie is passionate about supporting both our team and our clients, and is always happy to help to ensure every visit runs as smoothly as possible.

Katie moved to Penzance in 2016 with her husband, her now two teenage girls and her Black Labrador – Red. She has since acquired far more pets! Pip the fluffy little mixed breed, Crumble the tabby cat and Custard the large ginger tom.

Katie loves animals and people, she is the one that will steal your puppy for a cuddle when possible. In her spare time she is studying a degree in counselling. Katie also loves being creative with Knitting, and has a bit of a talent for creating knitted pets. She loves the beach and the sea, and will often take her dogs there for a bit sea therapy and exercise.

Katie is known to the team for her positivity, no matter what gets thrown at us.

Grace is one of our Receptionists, she started with us in 2023.

Grace moved to Cornwall in 2018 after growing up in Dublin, Ireland. She has experience in Dog Rescue and Behaviour and has a keen interest to study this further. 

Grace spends her spare time with her little girl, exploring Cornwall and simply loves every moment being a family.

Grace will always welcome everyone with a warm smile, and a treat will be readily given to the dogs that come into the practice.

Grace has a very bubbly personality, and always brings the team a special bit of happiness that we all appreciate.

Laura has been living in Cornwall for the past 4 years and is enjoying becoming part of the local community. She enjoys the coastal lifestyle and everything this beautiful part of the country has to offer.

Here at Vets for Pets she takes on a varied role within the practice including working in the dispensary, supporting our clients as a receptionist and assisting the team as a Veterinary Care Assistant. She loves the variety each day brings and being able to help both our patients and their owners in different ways

Outside of work she is kept busy by her family and 2 crazy labradors Pluto and Stanley who certainly keep life fun and active!
