Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified in South Africa in 2000 and, after initially working in mixed practice for a few years, decided to focus on small animals. I have worked in Warwickshire, Surrey and, for the last 5 years, in Derbyshire. In 2006 I moved to Companion Care in Chesterfield (now Vets4Pets Chesterfield Ravenside) and have been here ever since. In the first year we were flooded out which was not a great start, but with a brand new practice and a brilliant team of staff we are now back on our feet. My main veterinary interests are small animal medicine, soft tissue surgery and diagnostic imaging. In my spare time I enjoy running, cycling, climbing and walking Ernie and Doris. I live with my wife, daughter and two dogs.

I have always worked in small animal first opinion practice. I enjoy nursing and being part of a wonderful team. My keen interests are looking after the patients who are hospitalised in our care and helping support their owners with understanding their pets needs.

I also love rehabilitation and physiotherapy for aiding older pets or those who have undergone surgery. I enjoy seeing owners with their pets in consults and giving advice. I find this rewarding and love the variety.
