Having originally trained in New Zealand, I graduated from Massey University in 1995 and have been practising in the UK since 1998. I worked in Essex for 7 years before having the pleasure of opening Braintree Vets4Pets in March 2014 and Maldon in August 2014. I have thoroughly enjoyed my career so far, during which time I have developed a passion for canine and feline medicine and therapeutics and a great enthusiasm for working with small furries (rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters…)                                                                   At home I have a pet dog and rabbit. When not at work, I enjoy the outdoors, rock music, theatre, cinema and travel.

I qualified as a Vet in 2012 from The Royal Veterinary College in London, and have since enjoyed a varied career in mixed general practice in Essex. For the past 2 years I have provided locum cover at both the Braintree and Maldon Vets4Pets branches and in January 2017 joined the Maldon team as a permanent member of staff. I enjoy all aspects of my role, and I have a particular interest in feline and internal medicine. I have 2 cats, called Holmes and Watson, who come second in life to my husband!

I started working in the veterinary industry July 1990 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1994. Since then I have gained over 30 years of experience and knowledge both in veterinary pharmaceuticals and within the veterinary practice. In January 2017 I took on the role of practice manager of Maldon Vets4Pets as well as continuing to be heavily involved in patient care and nursing on a day-to-day basis. This role has proved to be a fulfilling and rewarding challenge that I thoroughly enjoy.

In 2011 the opportunity came to join a large busy Veterinary practice as a Veterinary Care Assistant, that was nearly 9 years ago and I haven’t looked back. I first qualified as an ANA and then I started training as a Veterinary nurse in 2014 and qualified in August 2017. I joined Vets4Pets Maldon in July 2017 and I have really enjoyed being a part of the Vets4Pets family.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life and I was lucky enough to have parents that encouraged my passion. I was always surrounded by animals from an early age (before I could even walk!) and my favourite companion was a blind Border Collie. I also owned various small furries, which I cared for by myself as my mum was terrified of them. My childhood dream came true at the age of 10 when I was privileged enough to own the most beautiful Pony, whom I spent 15 wonderful years with. We competed at Show Jumping and Cross country before his old age parted us. I then went on to rescue a Thoroughbred, whom I nurtured back to health, and again spent many happy years together. I have since got married and had a gorgeous son, who also seems to have his mummy's love of animals. We now have two rescued Guinea pigs, brothers Billy and Bertie. Working in a veterinary practice and meeting people and their beloved pets is very rewarding and I am very happy to be part of this new adventure.

I took the job as receptionist at Maldon Vets4Pets in 2015 and got promoted to Head Receptionist 2018 throughout my time at Maldon Vets4Pets I have completed my Bronze, Silver and Gold Award from the British Veterinary Receptionist Association.

Before working at Maldon Vets4Pets I worked as a Receptionist at VetsNow Emergency Vets where I thoroughly enjoyed working with both the animals and the team this prompted my desire to work in a smaller vets practice as I get to build good relationships with colleagues, animals and clients.

After working in education for nearly 19 years, I took a change in career and joined Vets4Pets in July 2018 as a Receptionist (and they say never work with children or animals!).

I have always loved animals and have had many pets. My much loved Irish Wolfhound, Bear is the largest and heaviest pets that visits our practice...mainly for treats!!

I enjoy meeting all the pets, old and young and conversing with their owners.
