Meet the team

Corinne Verrycken
Partner and Business Owner

Hi, my name is Effy and I work as a Veterinary Surgeon here at Newcastle Vets4Pets. Originally from Greece I qualified in 2014 and worked in a variety of small animal practices before coming to the UK in April 2018.
I have a collection of cold-water fish and shrimps and am hoping in the future to add a four-legged friend to my keeping.
Outside of work I enjoy the great outdoors at every opportunity and have a passion for wildlife and astronomy.
I really enjoy working at Newcastle Vets4Pets with my lovely team and always try to give the best of myself in the care and treatment of the little “furries”.

Hi, my name is Kate and I'm one of the vets at Newcastle Vets4Pets. I qualified from Nottingham University in 2015 and worked in a large, mixed animal practice for three years. After this I locumed at various practices around the North East before taking a permanent job at Newcastle in September.
I love meeting clients and their animals and really enjoy being part of the friendly team at this practice.
I spend as much of my spare time outdoors as possible - cycling, hiking and exploring Northumberland with my Golden Retriever, Rosie.

My name is Catherine (or “Cat”) and I qualified in Edingburgh 2010
I have worked in a variety of small animal practices from a Referral hospital to local surgery branches in the North East England.
In 2021 I joined Newcastle Vets4Pets. I welcome the wide variety of clients we see with their four-legged family members and enjoy all aspects of the work.
I really appreciate working with such a supportive team of people with a shared passion for animals and their care.
When not at work I love to spend time with my family. I am also a keen runner and am happiest when running in the rain.

Hi, my name is Milly, and I am a veterinary surgeon at Vets4pets. I qualified in 2006 from Edinburgh University and have worked in all areas of veterinary medicine throughout Scotland, the North East and Australia.
I joined Newcastle in 2021 after locuming for the practice during lock down - I’m very proud to be part of such a professional and hard working team.
I love my job, and feel privileged to be able to meet and treat your pets. I have a special interest in ultrasonography and dentistry but genuinely enjoy all aspects of my job!
I have 3 children, 6 guinea pigs, Molly the cat, Eric and Linda the border terriers, Pickle and Rosie my two ponies….and a very patient husband!
My main passion aside from the family and animals is long distance running, and I also love baking.

Hi, I’m Alison. I graduated from Edinburgh University in 1990 and after a couple of years in mixed practice in Yorkshire, I moved to solely small animal practice.
I worked in several practices in Yorkshire, Surrey, and Nottingham, with occasional locum stints in Gibraltar. I also worked for DEFRA in Scotland during the Foot and Mouth outbreak in 2001/2002.
Originally from Scotland, I moved to the north east in 2001, and am happily settled in this beautiful part of the country.
I live with my husband and 2 children and we have a labrador, 5 guinea pigs and 2 horses. In my spare time I enjoy walking with my dog, gardening, horse riding, wild swimming, and generally being outside as much as I can.
I first joined Vets4pets in Newcastle in 2022. I love working at this practice, and being part of this special team. All members of the team genuinely care about the animals, their owners and each other, and that’s what makes working here so rewarding.

Hi, my name is Laura and I began working in the Veterinary industry in 2012. I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2015 and since then have gained experience in both primary care and referral practice.
I began working at Newcastle Vets4Pets in 2018, progressing to Head Nurse the same year before taking on the additional role of Clinical Lead in 2020.
My job role means I get to look after our patients, clients and the Team. The work is very rewarding and no two days are the same. I love the Team and seeing the Practice grow and develope.
In my spare time I enjoy practicing yoga and looking after my very spoilt cat Tofu who I hand-reared from when she was only a week old.

Hi, my name is Debbie and I have a needy little Springer Spaniel called Lily.
I started here as Client Care Advisor in September 2019 and am now excited to commence my training as a Student Nurse.
This is my first time working in the animal care sector having previously worked as an Account Manager in the printing industry.
I love working with all the amazing animals we see at Newcastle Vets4Pets and particularly love all the cuddles and kisses we get from the dogs that we get through our doors!

Hi, my name is Laura and I’m a student veterinary nurse at Newcastle Vets4pets. I have been here since 2017 and I have a keen interest in surgical nursing.
I love my job, our team is an amazing family.
I’m obsessed with all things hedgehogs. I’ve got an African Pygmy hedgehog called Stitch, who loves to travel! He’s a grumpy little boy but very loving at the same time.

I am a second year Student Veterinary Nurse; I joined the Newcastle Team in December 2022 after being at Sunderland Vets4Pets since 2015. Since childhood I have had a love for animals and a passion for their welfare. I always knew I wanted to work in the Veterinary industry. I have a Pug called Alfie and 3 cats called Dobby, Loki and Ellie who my partner and I rescued as strays. I love my job and I couldn’t ask for a better team of nurses and vets to work alongside.

Hi, my name is Rachel and I have been a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse since 2019.
I joined Newcastle Vets4Pets in December 2022 and enjoy all aspects of my job and love working with such a close-knit Team.
In my spare time I like travelling in my camper van, rock climbing and spending time with my elderly horse Donni.

Hi, I'm Keeley
I am originally from Manchester and have worked in the Veterinary profession for 5 years, qualifying as RVN in 2022
I have two dogs and a cat called Mollie, Milo and Angel
My favourite aspects of work are anaesthesia and emergency & critical care

Hi, I have worked as Veterinary Care Assistant since 2018 having previously worked on Reception.
I love all kinds of animals no matter how big or small, they deserve the best care and love that we can give them.
The best thing about working here at Newcastle Vets4Pets is the clients and staff team - they are all amazing!

Hi, my name is Richard and I joined Newcastle Vets4Pets in 2018 working for the first time in the veterinary world having previously spent 10 years in the private health care sector.
My family home currently has three dogs: Bobbie, a Bearded Collie Cross; Peggy and Norman, both crazy Border Collies. Home life can be pretty chaotic and noisy, especially when the post or parcels arrive!
Recently we added a Leopard Gecko to the family menagerie, though not everyone is keen on the live insect feeding!
It's great to work with an amazing group of people who share a real passion and commitment for animal care and do such a great job each and every day.

Hi, my name is Holly and I have worked on Reception at Newcastle Vets4Pets since January 2017. I love working with animals and in July 2019 successfully passed my exams to become a fully qualified Dog Groomer.
I have a Tabby cat called Tiger and a Miniature Schnauzer called Elsie. Elsie can often be seen coming to work at the vets helping on Reception.
I love working with the team here at Newcastle Vets4Pets and they are like family to me. Our regular clients definitely cheer us up on the front desk when they bring their cutie pets to the practice. Getting lots of cuddles and kisses from the dogs makes a great day at work!

Hi, my name is Lorna and I own a very snorty Boston Terrier called Burt.
I have worked on Reception here at the practice since April 2017. Prior to this I was self-employed in the fitness industry for over 10 years in a variety of roles and a qualified personal and group exercise trainer.
I love the variety in my job as every day is different and there is always something new to learn. The best part of each day is meeting the animals that we care for, big and small.

Hi, my name is Elle. I started working at Vets4Pets in February 2022 on Reception.
In September 2022 I also joined the the clinical team as a Veterinary Care Assistant. I absolutely love my job, it is so interesting and the team are lovely.
I have two rabbits named Enid & Teddy that are fully free-roam and rule the house!
In my spare time I volunteer at Guide Dogs for the Blind Association as Dog Well-being Support.
