Our cancellation and fail to attend policy
We have been experiencing a large increase in clients failing to attend appointments over recent months. Each fail to attend means there is another patient who could have been seen sooner who needed our help. We have had to implement a cancellation and fail to attend policy. This means that you need to contact us before we close the day preceding your appointment if you wish to reschedule. Any failures to attend will incur certain fees. Thank you for your understanding.
Meet the team
Hello, my name is Iva, I am originally from Bulgaria. I have a Masters degree in Veterinary medicine, which I earned in 2011. I come from a pet mad family with both my Dad and Sister also working as Vets and my Mum working as a zoo engineer. After graduating as a Vet I began working with my Dad with small animals and poultries. I have a special interest in Internal Medicine. In 2014 I achieved an Honour Code Certificate in 'Fundamentals of Clinical Trials' from Harvard, USA. In January 2015 I achieved a Level 5 Diploma in Veterinary Practice Management at the Institute of Leadership and Management London. For me it's a real privilege to be a vet and to help the patients stay healthy and happy. I have two lovely girls who keep me very busy at home. In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, to cook and visit new places.
Hello, I'm Veni! I graduated from University of Forestry, Sofia, Bulgaria in 2013 and got my degree as a Master of Veterinary Medicine. I joined Oxford Cowley Vets for Pets in January 2018 and really enjoy interacting with all the lovely pets and clients we have here.
Being born in a vet family i have always known i'm going to be a vet one day.
I used to work in a veterinary laboratory and was helping my dad who is a vet too.
I enjoy all aspects of companion animal medicine and my specific area of interest is Ophtalmology, Internal medicine and Surgery.
Outside of work i enjoy going out for walks and spending time with my family.
Hi! My name is Ángela and I studied veterinary medicine in Cáceres, Extremadura, Spain.
I’ve known I wanted to be a vet since I was 2 years old, when I used to say I was going to be an “animal doctor”. I also grew up surrounded by pets (at least 3 dogs and a cat!).
During my years in Cáceres I became particularly interested in internal medicine, as I spent 3 years as an intern in that area.
Outside my work place I enjoy outdoors activities, all kinds of sports, music and films.
Hi! My name is Imran. I graduated top of my class from Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. After graduation, I worked in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Ankara University’s veterinary hospital for two years. In 2022, I moved to the UK and have been working as a small animal veterinarian ever since.
I am passionate about all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a particular interest in diagnostic imaging, cardiology, and gynecology.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, skiing, reading, and watching sitcoms.

Tim is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon. Following university and time in general practice, he underwent three years of surgical training at a large referral centre and passed his specialist examinations. He then worked at another referral centre as an orthopaedic surgeon for four years before starting Orthopaedic Specialist Services (OSS). Tim now offers referral surgery within first opinion practices making specialist care accessible to a greater number of pets. He commonly operates on dogs and cats with cranial cruciate ligament disease, medial patellar luxation, elbow dysplasia, as well as those with traumatic injuries such as fractures and dislocations, and he is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for his patients and their owners. Hi, my name is Nick! I used to work as a team leader at Coca-Cola, but my passion for animals has brought me here to Vets for Pets. I work as a VCA and help with managing the practice with my wife Iva. I love all aspects of VCA job but particularly enjoy assisting the veterinary surgeon in theatre.
I have had animals all my life, I love working with animals and couldn't think of anything more rewarding.
At home I have two small daughters who keep me very busy.
I love spending time with friends and family and do sports.
Hey there! I'm Martin, and I’m the PM here at Cowley Vets for Pets. Now, just to clarify – I’m not the Prime Minister (though, in our little world of animals, it kind of feels the same!). If you've visited us before, you’ve probably spotted me bustling around. Whether I’m playing with your pet in a consultation, greeting you at reception, or helping with an insurance claim, I’m always on the move.
When I'm not around the practice, I’m either working behind the scenes with our amazing veterinary team or, well… off traveling! I’m a big fan of exploring new places and soaking in different cultures. My colleagues like to joke that if you ask where I am, they’ll tell you I’m “on holiday” – but, in reality, I’m probably just away somewhere while still keeping everything running smoothly back at the practice.
I’m always looking to grow, both personally and professionally. If I ever share any “wild” ideas about what’s coming next for the practice, just trust me – they’ll be happening before you know it!
Feel free to pop by and say hello anytime. Who knows, I might have a great travel suggestion for you while the rest of the team takes care of your furry friends.
I’m Dean, Head veterinary receptionist who loves every moment spent in the company of animals. With qualifications in nutrition and animal behaviour, I’m dedicated to helping pet owners make informed choices about their furry friends’ diets and addressing their unique needs.
When I’m not at work, I love traveling, whether it’s a weekend camping trip or an international adventure, I’m always seeking new experiences and cultures. Football is my go-to for fun and relaxation. I enjoy playing with friends on the weekends, bringing my energetic spirit and friendly competitiveness to the field. I believe in the power of teamwork, and every match turns into a fun social event. I also have a love for tattoos, appreciating them as a form of self-expression and art. Each piece I have tells a story or represents something meaningful to me, and I’m always on the lookout for new designs that resonate with my journey.
At home, I share my life with two wonderful cats. Asparuh, my wise adult tabby, loves to lounge by the window and observe the world, while my playful young cat, Nero, adds a whirlwind of energy and mischief to our cozy home. Together, they create a lively atmosphere that balances my adventurous spirit with the comforts of home.
Hi, I am Cowley the raccoon - the cheeky, trash-loving star of the vet practice, where i work as both an emotional support animal and the clinic’s social media sensation. With my knack for making people laugh and my ability to ease even the most nervous pets, I am the first to offer a comforting paw—or swipe—when needed. In my downtime, i'm usually found in the break room, raiding snack drawers for crisps and stealing pens to stash in my secret “treasure” hoard. A self-proclaimed expert in "rummaging" and "unintentionally photobombing," My favourite hobby is posting unsolicited selfies to the clinic's Instagram, much to the staff's delight (and mild confusion). Always camera-ready and occasionally mischievous, I truly believe that "work hard, snack harder" is the secret to a successful day.
Hi, I’m Gabriela, one of the Veterinary Care Assistants here at Oxford Cowley Vets for Pets.
I’m originally from Poland and recently moved to the UK after spending few years in the Netherlands. There, I worked as a pet sitter alongside a full-time job. I looked after cats, dogs, rabbits, parrots, and a few very shy pets who eventually trusted me thanks to lots of patience.
I’m currently studying for my Level 2 Diploma for Veterinary Nursing Assistants, and I’m excited to keep learning as I work toward becoming a veterinary nurse in the future.
Before moving into animal care, I worked in creative and retail roles, which helped me build strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organised in busy environments. All of that has been surprisingly useful in the clinic.Outside of work, I love vegan cooking, playing with my two rescue cats, illustration, everything haunted and creepy, and spending time with any animals I come across. Pigeons are a personal favourite.
Dear Valued Clients,

This journey has been truly amazing, and I am deeply thankful to everyone who has supported us along the way. It fills me with joy to be surrounded by such devoted and pet-loving individuals.
