Hi, I’m Tom!
I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011, when I also completed a degree in veterinary conservation medicine
I’ve been part of Capitol Centre Vets for Pets since it first opened in 2013. Just two years after graduating from vet school, I took on ownership of the practice. Originally from South Africa, I moved to the UK during my school years and have called it home ever since.
My passion lies in orthopaedics, and I’m currently working towards a certificate specialising in fracture repairs. I’ve always loved animals and share my home with a lively menagerie, including a horse, four guinea pigs, a cheeky cat, and a tortoise.
Unlike corporate clinics, our Vets for Pets branch is independently owned by Rebecca and I. We’re incredibly proud of our clinic and team, always striving to go the extra mile to ensure your pets receive gold-standard care. We invest heavily in state-of-the-art equipment and fund ongoing education for our colleagues, ensuring we stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine with the most advanced and compassionate treatment methods.
At Preston Capitol Vets for Pets, we’re always happy to welcome new clients and support you and your pet in any way we can. Feel free to reach out—we look forward to meeting you!

Hi, I’m Rebecca!
I moved to Walton-le-Dale as a child, and this community has held a special place in my heart ever since. From a young age, I was passionate about caring for animals, dedicating years to volunteering wherever I could. In 2000, I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse, a career I loved for many years. In 2021, I joined Capitol Vets for Pets as Practice Manager, and in 2023, I became co-practice owner alongside Tom.
I’m incredibly proud of our clinic and the amazing team behind it. You’ll often find me working behind the scenes, supporting my colleagues to ensure our clients and their pets receive the very best care.
My passion is helping veterinary professionals thrive. By investing in our team - veterinary surgeons, nurses, care assistants, and client advisors—we ensure the highest level of care for pets and their owners.
Animals have always been my greatest obsession. Life is better with pets, and I love knowing our work helps them live happier, healthier lives. It’s an honor to support you in caring for your pets, who bring so much joy to ours.
I look forward to meeting you soon!

I earned my qualification in Glasgow back in July 1989, which feels like a lifetime ago. It's truly remarkable that my passion for becoming a vet, a dream I had since primary school, has remained unwavering for nearly five decades.

I'm happily married to Neil and proudly embrace the role of being a stepmother to his two sons and three grandchildren. Our home is filled with the delightful presence of Umbra and Titian, our seven-year-old Maine Coon cats, as well as Morpheus, the elderly stray cat who's surprisingly good at getting attention from kids in the neighborhood. Our furry family also includes Bellatrix, a six-year-old cavapoochon, and Storm, our lively two-year-old flat-coated retriever. And let's not forget our clever school of around ten fish who keep us entertained and on our toes!

Finding joy in connecting with clients and their pets, regardless of their size, is a highlight for me. What I love most about my job is encountering new puppies and kittens embarking on their lifelong journeys. Meeting the diverse array of pets our clients have, spanning various species, breeds, and ages, is a delightful aspect of my role. These wonderful animals entrust us to provide care when they're unwell.

At home, my life is enriched by two delightful companions—a Beagle and a Dachshund. While I experience a touch of puppy envy in my daily encounters, I sincerely hope that the abundance of cuddles remains a constant.

I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet and care for all animals, both familiar and new, in this exciting role!

I joined the team in June 2023, and I can honestly say it’s been an incredible journey so far. I absolutely love my role, and being able to care for animals every day feels like a dream come true.

Before joining the practice, I spent 17 years working in the NHS. While I loved caring for people, I’ve always been passionate about animals, and a change in circumstances gave me the chance to follow my heart. Swapping humans for animals was the best decision I’ve ever made – I couldn’t imagine doing anything else now!

At home, I’m surrounded by my own little zoo. I have two English Bulldogs, five Frenchies, two Maine Coons, and a British Shorthair, so there’s never a dull moment. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I love that I now get to share that passion with our clients and their furry friends.

For me, the best part of this job is the connection I get to build with the animals and their owners. Animals are so trusting, loving, and loyal, and it’s such a privilege to be a part of their care.

I’m so proud to be part of this amazing team, and I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
