Meet the team

I graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2013 with a degree in Veterinary Nursing and since then have been working in small animal practice in South Wales.
I love everything about my job from providing advice and preventive healthcare, to assisting the vet in surgery. I have a keen interest in nutrition and nurse clinics. Occasionally I locum in Veterinary Emergency Treatment Service to improve my emergency and critical care skills.
In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and often foster orphaned animals. I currently have two indoor cats and a large dog; Myrtle Elizabeth, Eugene Charles and Murray Ross who are forever fosters.

Hi, my name is Charlie and I’m a Registered Veterinary Nurse here at Barry Vets4Pets. I have been in practice for 8 years and qualified for nearly 4 years. Before coming here, I have worked in a number of practice in Barry, Cardiff and Australia. i joined the Barry Vets4Pets team in April 2018. I like all animals and currently have two cats at home. I have even owned a Tarantula! I am a complete nerd and love learning about new ways to keep our animals happy and healthy. In my spare time I like to keep fit, eating out and getting stuck in to a good book or TV series.

I'm from Cardiff and have been nursing since 2010. I have always wanted to work with animals from a very young age.
I have a rescue dog, Rosie. Any spare time I have is spent on long walks with my dog. I love my job and am very passionate about providing our patients and clients with the best possible care.I am currently training to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse and set to qualify in 2020.

Hello I'm Cath. Working at Vets4Pets Barry has really fulfilled my dreams of working with animals. I have currently worked for the company for 2 years and I am enjoying every minute of it. I love my family and our adorable, allergic dog Paisley. Living with an animal with allergies has fuelled my passion for all things organic and created a hobby of creating my own range of chemical free products and an interest in homeopathy. I have a soft spot for Staffies and will often be spotted sitting in the kennels fawning over these patients.

Armed with a menagerie of animals including my 2 cocker spaniels - Mouse and Miley Cyrus, 4 rescue cats - Brian, Kevin, Rupert and Dora (although there is always room for more!) I am the bubbliest member of the team.
I have a work history of customer care which I now extend to furry clients as I can often be found sitting on the floor bribing the patients with treats! In my spare time I enjoy walking my dogs sporting my famous anorak.
I like all animals but have a special place in my heart for all dogs oodly and doodly.

Hello, I'm Jo. I one of the newest members of the team and work here as a receptionist in Vets4Pets Barry. I really enjoy the challenges the job brings and I love to get stuck in and help everyone out. I am a huge fan of stationary and am known in the practice as the laminating queen.
In my past I have been called a 'crazy cat lady' because I started a stray cat neutering scheme whilst living in China for 10 years. Now I live with my grown up family, along with a growing list of furry and scaly creatures.
I am a total 'petrol head', have had my own motorbike and absolutely loves Formula1. In my spare time I enjoy quality time in my campervan.

Hello, I'm Sophie, one of the receptionists here at Barry Vets4Pets. I might seem familiar because I started off at pets at home and was working there for about a year before moving to the vets. I absolutely love working here and meeting all the lovely clients and their incredibly sweet pets.
My love for animals have made me decide to become a vegetarian and I have been for over a year. I have an interest in Sharks and to swim with them is an ambition of mine.
I currently own 5 dogs - Amber, Harley, Scout, Indie, Arya so when I'm not in work I get plenty of exercise and a lot of cuddling. I also like spending any other free time with my friends socialising.
Vets4Pets Barry is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
