Meet the team
I graduated over 30 years ago in Hannover, Germany and worked in several small animal practices before moving to Cardiff with my husband in 1994. We currently live in Barry with our son and three cats; Ceri, Ginny & Lupin. I enjoy all aspects of small animal practice but have a particular interest in feline medicine, which I'm looking to further intensify in the future. My patients are mostly dogs, cats and rabbits; I'm also experienced with rats, hamsters, fish, cage birds and exotics.
Candela Qualified in 2017 from Ibiza. Candela has a love of all animals and has left a few in her home country but goes home to see them all often, Candela also has a huge interest in horses and loves to ride in her spare time.
Candela is currently doing a certificate in surgery and enjoys learning on a daily basis.
After graduating from Ankara University in 2021, I decided to make the move to the uk. I worked for nearly a year as an official veterinarian in the Southwest of Wales.
I Joined Barry vets4pets in March 2023 and instantly felt welcomed by all the members of our lovely team who have supported me from the beginning. I love meeting all the new pets and clients every day.
I graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2013 with a degree in Veterinary Nursing and since then have been working in small animal practice in South Wales.
I love everything about my job from providing advice and preventive healthcare, to assisting the vet in surgery. I have a keen interest in nutrition and nurse clinics. I also work in the Veterinary Emergency Treatment Service to improve my emergency and critical care skills.
In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and often foster orphaned animals. I currently have a cat and a large dog; Myrtle Elizabeth, and Murray Ross who are forever fosters.
I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2011 and 13 years on I am still loving my job.
I have a 7 year old daughter and a 14 year old rescue cat called betty Boop.
My main interest is feline behaviour and medicine, but I do enjoy the variety of all animals seen in practice.
Fiona has been in the industry for many years and is a extremely experienced Nursing assistant. Fiona has 2 children, a rescue dog called Dotty and a cat called Heidi at home. Fiona has a huge passion for all animals and always provides a loving cuddle to any fur baby that comes into us.
Rhian is our student nurse and in her first year of training and has fitted into the practice like she has always been here. In her spare time she supports Cardiff City FC and has a little rescue kitten at home called Trixie and a Doodle called Lily.
I have always had a passion for working with animals. Since I was little, my dream has been to become a vet nurse. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my sister. I currently have two dogs, Harry and Poppy. I also have a guinea pig named Gus, and a leopard gecko named Pebbles.
I have been working within the Veterinary industry for over 33 years, I started as a kennel assistant back inn 1992 in a busy practice in Cardiff, I have worked myself up to Practice Manager. I am still hands on with the animals as they are a big passion in my life.
I currently have 4 rescue cats, Sky, Diesel, Neville & Dobby and 1 dog at home called Chico. I also foster kittens when needed. I always say no more animals...but never say never.
I also play ladies baseball in the summer months as I love being part of a team and it is great fun.
Sharon has been with the practice for the past few years and enjoys all aspects of working within the practice.
Hello I'm Cath. Working at Vets4Pets Barry has really fulfilled my dreams of working with animals. I love my family and our adorable, allergic dog Paisley. I have a soft spot for Staffies and will often be spotted sitting in the kennels fawning over these patients.
Armed with a menagerie of animals including my 2 cocker spaniels - Mouse and Miley Cyrus, 4 rescue cats - Marble, Rosie, Rupert and Dora (although there is always room for more!)
I have a work history of customer care which I now extend to furry clients as I can often be found sitting on the floor bribing the patients with treats! In my spare time I enjoy walking my dogs sporting my famous anorak.
I like all animals but have a special place in my heart for all dogs oodly and doodly.
Hello, I'm Sophie, one of the receptionists here at Barry Vets4Pets. I might seem familiar because I started off at pets at home and was working there for about a year before moving to the vets. I absolutely love working here and meeting all the lovely clients and their incredibly sweet pets.
My love for animals have made me decide to become a vegetarian and I have been for over a year. I have an interest in Sharks and to swim with them is an ambition of mine.
I currently own 5 dogs - Amber, Diego, Indie, Tonny & Arya so when I'm not in work I get plenty of exercise and a lot of cuddling. I also like spending any other free time with my friends socialising.
Rhianne has been been with the practice for a few years now and is always on hand to give a treat out to comfort our patients.
Rhianne loves walking her lovable dog Barney in her spare time and playing with her newly adopted kitten called Peaches. Rhianne has always had a big passion for animals.
Rhianne likes to read and go and watch shows when she is not working.
