Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I have always loved animals and wanted to be a vet from a young age. I never even considered any other career paths! After graduating from Edinburgh Vet School in 2006, I worked in a busy mixed practice before moving to a smaller practice concentrating on companion animals. During this time, I completed my CertAVP (Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice) which helped me to develop a deeper knowledge of the veterinary industry and practice as a whole. I now have an understanding of how to critically analyse the quality of care we offer our patients and how to move the practice forward through this. I also achieved my CertVBM (Certificate of Veterinary Business Management) at this time. The best part of being in practice is meeting pets with their families and watching them grow, develop and build a relationship with us. I want everyone to feel as if their pets are treated as we would treat ours - as part of our family. Music has always been an important part of my life, and I also enjoy cooking, meeting up with friends and reading.

I was fortunate enough that pets were always welcome in my family and I grew up looking after many different species from tiny hamsters to bigger guinea pigs, rabbits and of course dogs and cats. I soon realised I wanted to be a vet.

After graduation from Veterinary University in Czech Republic in 2011, I spent almost 3 years in a small animal practice in the south of Spain. I moved to the UK in 2014, mainly to improve and further develop my veterinary skills. I’ve worked for several small animal clinics since and I joined the friendly Vets4Pets team in Bishops Stortford in July 2019.

I was seriously considering pursuing a specialisation earlier in my career but I realised I enjoy the variety of a general practice more and prefer knowing my patients from babies to grey and stiff oldies.

I enjoy animal charity work too. I volunteered at and worked for the largest animal/spanish greyhound (galgo) shelter in the past and I am casually helping with a small cat charity Scratching Post in Waltham Abbey at the moment. I look forward to meeting you and your pets.
