We are open for essential care only
In line with government guidelines, we are only offering medically essential appointments, so please contact the practice team before travelling. Our opening hours may also vary, so please monitor our webpage to keep up to date with the latest information.
We are taking steps to help keep you and our colleagues safe:
- If you do need to visit, we ask that only one person per pet comes along, to help reduce the number of people in the waiting area at any one time.
- Social distancing is crucial at this time. When arriving, you may be required to call ahead and wait to be invited in by a member of our team. You will be informed if this is necessary when you call us to make your appointment.
- Once inside the practice, we ask that you please respect a two metre distance from our colleagues and other clients.
- We are only accepting card payments to help minimise contact between you and our colleagues.
- If you can’t visit the practice and are concerned about your pet’s health, please contact us to discuss available options.
We will continue to share regular updates here and on our Facebook page. We thank you for your patience at this time.
Meet the team
Hi, i'm Brian and I am a 2003 graduate from the Royal Veterinary College. Upon graduation, I returned to my native Long Island, NY to work in small animal practice, including being a partner at a busy low-cost clinic. My family and I (wife, 2 daughters and various furry family members) returned to the U.K. in August 2016 to pursue a better quality of life - and we all love life here. I have been working at Blackburn since April 2017, and took the practice on as my own in March 2018! I have a special interest in surgery (both soft tissue and orthopaedic) and quite enjoy meeting all of the new patients that come in daily!
Hey I’m Clare, the newest member of the nursing team! I began work within the veterinary industry in 2014 as a receptionist. It wasn’t long before my heart was set on becoming a veterinary nurse so I was made an auxiliary nurse, then in 2017 I started my VN training at Myerscough College.
I joined the team here in Blackburn in June 2019 & I am almost qualified. I enjoy all aspects of my role especially making sure each & every patient is cared for to the highest standard possible and working with such a fantastic team! This isn’t just a job to me, it is my passion & I look forward to welcoming you and your wonderful fur babies here at Blackburn Vets4pets.
