Since graduating from Glasgow University I have developed a keen interest in all aspects of surgery. I reserve a special interest for orthopaedic surgery, particularly focusing on operations for the knee joint after cruciate ligament injury and for “floating knee caps” (patellar luxation). I have passed the General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery exams and am undertaking an Advanced Orthopaedics certificate.

Meeting our new clients and patients is always a joy! It's amazing to see puppies and kittens on their first visit and to give them the best welcome into the world we can offer.

I also have a massive appreciation for our Pets At Home and Groom Colleagues in the store. They play a huge part in my daily life as a vet and really help our clients by offering good advice and direction on topics such as food and nutrition.

Outside of work I enjoy horse riding with Wilson my big Irish Draught. I also take part in clay pigeon shooting and other outdoor activities.

Myself and Brian opened Vets4Pets in Cumbernauld in September 2019 and since opening I have loved getting to know all of our lovely new clients and their furry family!

I enjoy all aspects of small animal veterinary work but have a specific interest in dermatology, medicine and emergency & critical care (ECC).

At home I have 3 cats (Foxy, Dany and Mouse), 2 goats and hens, so looking after the menagerie keeps me busy on my days off!

I enjoy getting outside in the fresh air to go walks and do gardening, but equally enjoy sitting by the fire watching tv or reading a book!

I am the newest member of the team and am originally from Sheffield. I moved to Scotland to study at the University of Edinburgh from where I graduated as a vet. Since graduating, I have developed a particular interest in medicine and emergency medicine.

My partner and I have a dog, Neville, who is a bundle of energy! We also have a dog, Harris, and a cat, Sooty, who both live at my family home.

In my free time, I enjoy baking, hill walking and decorating our new house!

I am really excited to be working with the team at Vets4Pets Cumbernauld and am looking forward to meeting all our clients and their pets!

I’ve known I wanted to be a veterinary nurse from a young age and so I spent my entire school career working towards that goal. The hard work paid off – after 4 difficult years at Edinburgh Napier University I graduated with an honours degree in Veterinary Nursing.

Through my training I have worked in many different veterinary practices, including a charity hospital. All of these have helped me gain skills and knowledge to be the best veterinary nurse I can be. I have a keen interest in Schedule 3 surgery, rabbit nursing along with theatre and medical nursing.

Over the years I’ve owned many pets, from hamsters to bearded dragons, and have loved them all dearly - currently I have a border collie pup Called Chester, a rescue cat name Vernon and my bunny, Flopsy.

My life outside of work is less than exciting and mainly consists of spending time with my family, better half, and our pets.

I’m so excited to be working with my Vets4pets team. They allow me to use my nursing skills to their full potential so I can continue to enhance my clinical skills and knowledge.

I have recently qualified as a veterinary nurse. I studied the HND Veterinary Nursing course at SRUC Barony Campus, where most of my training was practical based which involved the completion of the Nursing Progress Log (NPL).

I have a 5 year old Siberian Husky called Darcy, who is super friendly & absolutely loves people! I have also recently adopted a Russian Dwarf Hamster named Lilo, who is really starting to become a little character. I spent 2 weeks in Welgevonden Game Reserve in South Africa, which was such an interesting & once in a lifetime experience, getting to work with South African wildlife including all of the Big 5, in particular the White Rhino.

I am yet to decide what area of veterinary nursing I would like to specialise in as there are so many areas that I am extremely interested in including theatre/surgery, anaesthesia, exotics & wildlife. Veterinary nursing is not always cuddling animals all day, but I absolutely love my job as no 2 days are ever the same & you never know what could walk through the door!

I am fairly new to the practice and have loved every minute so far! No 2 days are the same and each day brings a new challenge and opportunity to learn… and lots of cute pets too ! Coming from a family of animal lovers  it didn’t take me much to realise a career working with animals was for me and have been lucky enough to care for and work with a range of species from cows, sheep and horses, to dogs, cats and rabbits.
Growing up I have had quite the smorgasbord of pets from dogs, horses, rabbits and hamsters to reptiles and insects… although I have to say dogs hold a special place in my heart. I currently have 3 dogs - Zack, Meg and Oscar and 2 rabbits Ozzy and Lemmy.

I currently hold a degree in Agricultural Bioscience which I absolutely loved studying. I particularly took an interest in learning about animal behaviour, health and welfare, nutrition and physiology which has inspired me to pursue a career in the veterinary profession and I am looking to further my studies in the near future!

Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors - going for long walks with the dogs, horse riding and going on road trips. I also enjoy crafting and baking, all which keeps me pretty busy.

I am really excited to be part of the team at Vets4Pets Cumbernauld and continue to enjoy meeting all the lovely clients and their pets and can’t wait to see what the future here brings.

Vets4Pets Cumbernauld is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy and digital x-ray. Plus, on site car parking too! We strive to make our patient and clients' experience the best in the business.

Claire, Brian and the team have a wealth of experience in emergency medicine, and advanced surgeries including TPLO for cruciate ligament disease, fracture repairs, luxating patella and more.

We have also been accredited by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme to General Practice Level which is a massive achievement and proves that we are one of the best at what we do!

Brian, Claire and the friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
