Meet the team
Rebecca joined us in August 2022, a local girl with a nice easy commute down the hill from Mallusk - as yet she's declined my suggestion to try it by rollerblades/skateboard!
She loves meeting all your pets, but has a soft spot for the smaller pets like hamsters, guineas and rabbits; and also for Shih Tzu's like her family dog Teddy, and her very own boy Sawyer.
Sarah hails from Banbridge, but after a few years working in England and Scotland, returned to NI and then settled nearby in Ballyclare, stepping into Connie's shoes when Connie started her Australia journey.
Sarah enjoys medicine cases in particular, working with owners tailoring the care that suits them and their pet.
Cathy has nearly 14 years experience working in a veterinary clinic. She was working as a nursing assistant, went on to do her vet nurse training and passed with flying colours, and afterward also trained up nurses herself. Prior to that, it was working with horses in a riding school and a stud farm, so she's pretty much always been working with animals.
Outside of work she looks after and rides her horse, goes to the gym, she is involved with a whole bunch of clubs and voluntary organisations:- motorcycle club (particularly the charity ride outs), classic car club, race marshall, Red Cross ambulance and first aid teams ... and occasionally sleeps! "It's amazing what you can squeeze in once you've got the kids out of the house" At home she's got her German Shepherd Tara, cat Ace, and smallish rescue dog Bosen (aka Bosey Bear).
Chelsea has been part of the team from close to the opening, initially working Sundays on reception whilst doing the animal Management course at Newtownabbey NRC before progressing to full-time receptionist.
Last year she completed the animal nursing assistant course, and this September 2018 she moves another step on by starting the veterinary nurse course at Greenmount. you'll still find her at reception plenty, ably assisted by her Customer Experience Enhancement Officers Wesley and Dylan. (and Carter)
in 2023 qualifed as an RVN, and due to a quirk of timing, got to officially graduate and get her scroll on the same day as Linsey
Linsey proudly qualified as fully Registered Veterinary Nurse in Feb 2023, a fitting way to mark her 5 year anniversary working with us here.
At home (and often coming into work) are her lovely boys Milo and Prince the yellow and black Labradors.
Christine has almost 15 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic. She initially worked as a veterinary receptionist/nursing assistant until she left to raise her family of three boys and one girl, before returning to the same job almost 20 years later once they'd all reached school age.
Christine takes care of our reception and also does some administration and account management
At home, Christine has Cocoa the cat. She likes sewing, knitting, cooking and gardening.
Niamh joined the team after completing her ANA placement here in 2021. As of May 2023, she welcomed a new human additional to her family of 4 cats and 2 dogs.
Hannah joined us in the summer of 2023 in part to cover Niamh slipping off on maternity leave. She is the baby of the team, an extra little sister to us all.
Vets for Pets Newtownabbey is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
