I love the variety and unpredictability of not quite knowing what I might be getting up to in my day. I really enjoy building relationships with our wonderful clients and patients and above all being able to help get our furry friends on the mend. I grew up in a little village near Guildford in Surrey but since graduating from Nottingham have lived in North Yorkshire. My first job after graduating was at Yoredale Vets before moving across to Northallerton Vets4Pets in 2022. I am a home bird, I like to spend time in the kitchen cooking and baking and spending time with my family. I have two dogs, little Tim and big George and a cat called Toto.

I qualified from Liverpool Veterinary School (the best vet school — though our other vets may disagree!) and began my career in mixed practice, working with all creatures great and small. After gaining valuable experience across a wide range of species, I went on to focus on small animal practice, where my true passion lies. What I love most about being a vet is building strong relationships with patients and their families, working closely with them to support lifelong health and wellbeing. With a particular interest in medical cases and consulting, I enjoy piecing together the clues to solve complex problems and find the best possible outcomes for every patient. I take pride in providing thoughtful, compassionate care to every animal I meet. Outside of the clinic, I am a keen music lover who enjoys attending gigs and festivals throughout the year and I am looking forward to travelling more in the months ahead. As a practice owner every day is so very different and this makes my role interesting. I love to see bonded clients and patients as well as meeting new and welcoming them to our wonderful, compassionate, caring practice. I worked overseas before joining the Veterinary profession. I qualified in 2005 where I was working in a very busy 24 hour hospital. I began working for Vets4Pets in 2009, later becoming a partner. I have gained my Assessor qualification (A1) to enable me to train Student Veterinary Nurses and this has been very rewarding. I gained an Advanced Surgical certificate (VNMA Surg) and use my extensive clinical skills on a daily basis. I travel as often as I possibly can, love to read and go to the cinema. I have a 13 year old (golden oldie), Border Terrier called ‘Beryl’ (Bez for short) who I adore.

I love many things about my Job but undoubtedly the part I love most is getting to spend time with the animals. I love surgery and being with them from when they arrive to when they go home again. I think being with them when they recover from an anaesthetic is one of the most important parts of my job, to offer reassurance and make sure they are well. I have worked in the veterinary industry for 20 years now. I originally started off in a local mixed animal veterinary practice so would often go out with the vet to help them with farm and horse work. I really enjoyed the large animal side of things and have many happy memories of my time helping out although standing in a barn in the middle of winter for hours on end helping the vet to calve a cow had its down sides mainly being frozen to the bone. After 5 years of working in a mixed practice I moved on to work for Middlesbrough Vets4Pets, and was there for 10 years! However, I got offered the opportunity to work at Northallerton Vets4Pets when it first opened, and with it being more local I decided to accept. I absolutely love working here! I love seeing the passion and care that every member of the team put into the roles they hold here. As a busy mum of five, finding time for my own hobbies and interests can be a challenge! I do have my level 1 & 2 Certificate in BSL British sign language and I would one day like to gain my level 3 so I can volunteer as an interpreter for the deaf. I have a Cavalier King Charles spaniel called Bruno, who comes to work with me on a regular basis he is also known as the practice head of security. I also have two farm cats, called Ludo and Frank, who only has 3 legs thanks to Sam who removed the injured leg thus saving his life. I also would say I have 160 cows but my husband who is a farmer would disagree with me on that one.

One of the best parts of my role as Practice Manager is getting to know our clients and their pets. We're here to support you through every stage of your pet's life. Thank you for being part of our practice family. Many, many years ago before becoming part of the Vets4Pets family, I worked as an overseas weddings & office manager, managing operations and supporting teams across international destinations. It was really inetesting as everyday was different, just like working here.. In my spare time I enjoy spending time travelling and having BBQ's for friends at home. I have a very cute boy cat called Drex, he is my cat but prefers his father for cuddles. I am just the spare human...

What I enjoy most about my role is being the first point of contact for our clients and their pets. I love creating a welcoming, calm environment and supporting owners through both happy visits and more difficult moments. I particularly enjoy managing insurance claims, helping guide clients through the process and making it a little easier for them. I am originally from Northallerton and started my career as cabin crew, a role where I gained invaluable customer service experience and working in busy environments. Shortly after lockdown, I joined the vets, bringing with me a friendly approach for supporting both clients and their pets. Outside of work, I love spending my time with friends and family and making the most of my downtime. I am also an owner to two cats, two rabbits and two guinea pigs, so my love for animals definitely continues at home as well!

Hello There, I'm Joe. I've been working in the practice for a little over 2 years now! My job is full of challenges which I love. Things can change daily keeping me on my toes, from poorly pets to crazy kittens and more. I previously worked in childcare for 7+ years, so not too much difference, smelly nappies swapped for messes on the floor! I enjoy nature, so living and growing up in the beautiful county side is a dream! My living room is full of plants and fish to keep me busy on my days off along side my other pets, Hetty and Organa the chickens and my cheeky chihuahua Rocky, who you may hear under the desk!
