Advanced services

At Vets for Pets, we have invested considerably in our team and kit to make a number of advanced services available to our clients. We also accept referrals from other practices.

Orthopaedics and fracture repair

Our veterinary team have undertaken advanced training to allow us to perform orthopaedic surgery in our practice. If your pet develops an abnormality involving their skeleton or joints, such as elbow dysplasia, a patella (kneecap) that gets stuck, or a torn cruciate ligament, an orthopaedic procedure may help them.

Ultrasound

We are pleased to be able to offer ultrasound scanning in practice, which is a painless way to look inside your pet’s body to find out what’s going on.

My name is Nikolay Radev and I am the JVP at Vets4Pets in Portishead. I graduated back in 2006 from the Trakia University in Bulgaria and also studied at a secondary veterinary school four years prior to that. I have done two large animal work experiences during my time at the University. Firstly, I spent 11 months working with large animals in Finland and then I spent 26 months in Morris, Minnesota working with pigs. When I came to the U.K. back in 2006 I initially worked with pigs again for 18 months. I started working as a small animal vet in September 2009 and I found it a lot more rewarding and enjoyable than being a farm vet. I enjoy being a veterinary surgeon as every day is different and brings a new challenge. Outside of work I enjoy the great outdoors, looking after my four year old daughter and taking her to the park when I am at home. I love football and have just started going to the gym.

Hello,
I’m Elena, one of the Veterinary surgeons in Vets4pets Portishead!
I am originally from Romania, I graduated in 2014 from the university in Iasi with bachelor degree and a masters in small animals. I have also worked with farm animals throughout my studies and continued working with them after! I moved to the UK in 2017 and continued working with large animals until 2018, when I then began working in a small animal practice.

Since joining the team in Portishead I have really enjoyed getting to know all of our clients and their pets! As well as seeing clients for consultations, I also have a strong interest in surgery and find it really rewarding and enjoyable.

Hey!
I’m Naomi, one of the registered veterinary nurses in Vets4pets Portishead!
I am originally from Hampshire but moved to Bristol in 2011 to complete my degree in Veterinary Nursing and also in Bio- Veterinary science at the University of Bristol. Since I graduated in 2015, I have been working in small animal practices and I have loved every minute of it!
I love all aspects of being a vet nurse and getting to know our clients and their pets, treating them all as my own! You may not always see me out front as I mostly look after everyone out back during surgeries and theatres! Most of the time you will find me in the cattery giving all the cats cuddles to help them settle in! I have always had a strong love of animals from a young age and for me it was obvious there was one career for me!

Hello!

I'm Rhianna and I'm the Practice Manager here at Vets4Portishead. You'll probably see me most at the reception desk chatting away to our lovely clients getting to know them and their pets. I stepped into the veterinary reception role when we first opened at the start of 2018.

At home, I have a cat named Elsie who I absolutely adore. I love getting to meet the wide range of pets that we see within the practice, and the constant learning we have each day!
