Meet the team
Hi, I'm Steve. I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011 and have been working in various Vets4Pets practices across the country ever since and have been working at Wigan Vets4Pets for the last two years. I have a particular interest in surgery and will be starting my certificate in small animal surgery in 2019.
When not at the practice I'm generally with my family and running around after my son and new addition. Our family also includes a cat (Leo), a rabbit (Flopsy) and a duck (Mr Darcy).
I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2010 graduating from Myerscough College.
I was privileged to Wigan Vets4Pets in December 2015. I enjoy all aspects of nursing but have a real strong passion for inpatient care and medical nursing.
I love that everyday brings new challenges and rewards.
I have a Labrador called Nolan and two Ginger cheeky Cats Nellie and Nelson.
I am a qualified Veterinary Nurse and have always known this is the job for me!
I spent my childhood volunteering at the Horse and Pony Protection Association and other rescue and rehabilitation yards. On my last yard I met the vet who treated the horses and my first work experience was completed at their practice some 8 years ago.
Since then I have gained experience and worked in a number of practices before finally ending up with the fantastic team at Wigan Vets4Pets in 2016.
I have a Dog named Daisy, two guinea pigs called Fred and George and an axolotl called Sally and have a special interest in rehabilitation and release of wild birds!
I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2010 and was able to gain my Advanced Diploma in 2015.
I absolutely love being a Veterinary Nurse and have a particular interest in anaesthesia and surgery. I was lucky enough to start working at Vets4Pets Wigan in October 2016 after locuming there since July and enjoying every minute.
I have two mischievous cats called Maddie & Wilma, a snake called Jake and a gecko called Winnie.
Hi, I'm Abbie one of the Registered Veterinary Nurses. I qualified from Myerscough College in July 2017 and have since been developing my skills and knowledge. The role I enjoy mostly in practice is working on wards. I love being able to care for your pets on recovery from anaesthetic and surgery and give them lots of cuddles to help to make them feel better. I also love caring for any wildlife which comes through the door and rehabilitating them ready for release. I have recently hand reared and released a baby hedgehog named Piggy and a baby wood pigeon named Percy.
Outside of work I am a member of my local Young Farmers club and attend their weekly meetings. I enjoy caring for my two elderly horses, Ebony and River, and have recently started showing a Welsh Part Bred named Tia. I have an interest in classic cars and am in the process of respraying my Classic Mini.
Hi, I'm Gemma, I first trained as an Animal Nursing Assistant in 2012. I then went on to qualify as a Veterinary Nurse in 2016 graduating from Myerscough College.
I enjoy all aspects of my job but particularly love consulting as I get to meet new people and interact with all your lovely animals that come through our door. I have worked in practice since 2008 and moved to join the amazing team at Wigan Vets4pets in 2017.
At home I spend my time looking after and walking my 3 dogs.
I have been here since day 1 and am the longest staff member :)
At home I have 2 Cavalier King Charles- Spaniels Cooper and Penny, 2 cats- Nessa and Reno, a tortoise called Nola and Fish also!
I love watching the team and practice grow and love getting know all clients and their pets.
I am the newest member to the reception staff and I am privileged to be working at such a wonderful practice. I have always adored animals. I grew up with pets, we had two cats, a tabby called Tiger, and a black cat named Pippa. I also had a dog, a rusty orange Alsatian cross called Roger who was daft as a brush. Although we are unable to have pets at our home now, my son has a tabby cat named Pickle that he looks after at his grans and my step-daughter keeps rabbits at our friends farm, so we visit them as often as we can.
My favourite part of my job is that there is no day the same, and yet everyday I get the honour to meet all our lovely clients and their amazing pets. Needless to say I love to squeeze in lots of cuddles with our furry friends too.
