Airway Surgery
Brachycephalic dog breeds such as French Bulldogs and Pugs make up some of the most popular dogs in the UK. The skull and jaw bones are shorter in these dogs, meaning that there is too much soft tissue in this area which makes air flow through the respiratory passages much harder. Dogs with BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) often have difficulty breathing, exercising and sleeping, therefore widening the entrance to the nostrils and shortening the soft palate can help to support the pet with better breathing. At Preston Vets for Pets we are lucky to have vets who have a special interest in such cases and who can perform this surgery in house. To find out if your pet may benefit from this surgery, we recommend booking a free of charge airway assessment as the first step towards a treatment plan.
Imaging
With our digital x-ray equipment, we can obtain high-quality images in house allowing us to diagnose a range of conditions.
Our ultrasound machine allows us to image the thorax and abdomen and to take samples from internal organs.
Dental
Unhealthy teeth can cause your pet all kinds of health problems. Dental treatment is a common and routine part of veterinary practice, and our team is here to ensure that your pet maintains healthy teeth from discussion through to preventative care that are offered at our practice: oral examination, scale and polish, dental x-rays, extractions.
Meet the team
Hi, I'm Alina and I joined Vets4Pets Preston as the Lead Veterinary Surgeon in March 2024. I graduated from Bucharest University, Romania in 2005.
I have an interest in soft tissue surgery and in particular BOAS surgery which is a procedure to address breathing issues in certain breeds as I believe the affected dogs need a chance for a better, healthier life.
I have my Cat named Lucy who I rescued and in my spare time I enjoy cycling.
I look forward to meeting you all!
Hello, Im Gokhan. I’m from Cyprus born and raised, and graduated from Ankara University in Turkey in 2024. My clinical interests are surgery, imaging and Cat and Dog behaviours.
In my spare time I like to work on music, play guitar and do photography. I have 2 pets, a Golden Retriever named Lady and a Tortoise named Flash!
I joined the Vets4Pets family back in 2013 a Receptionist and have since progressed to the role of Head Nurse. I have been here at Preston Vets4Pets for the past year and have enjoyed getting to know you all and your furry little friends. My passions are dentistry and also supporting our numerous students through their studies.
I have a cheeky cat called Zelda, and a sassy cat called Eevee who both certainly keep me on my hind-paws ;)
Hello! I’m Katherine, I have been a Registered Veterinary Nurse since 2016 and have always been a passionate lover of animals. I have a certificate in emergency and critical care and also in dog behaviour training. I have a keen interest in consulting and in-patient care but in enjoy all aspects of nursing.
In my free time I enjoy line dancing, going to the gym and crafting for my online crystal shop.
I look forward to meeting you and your lovable fur babies when you come to the practice!
Hi, Im Victoria and I am currently studying nursing here at Vets4Pets Preston. You will usually find me caring for your animals through their surgery journey from admission, in theatre and to when they are discharged, making sure im giving them lots of love and care along the way.
In my spare time I love spending it with my 3 children or baking cakes. I have an African Grey called Isabel and my newest addition Sandy, my Labrador puppy.
I look forward to meeting your lovely pets when they come to visit.
Hi, I’m Sarah and I work here at Vets4Pets Preston as the Practice Manager. I have been in my role now since June 2021 and I love coming in to work every day and working with such an incredible team of professionals.
I came from a retail background and decided to have a career change and never looked back since. I get such enjoyment from my role working within a Vets Practice and the different challenges it brings with it each day.
I have a Working Cocker Spaniel named Millie, who comes into practice most days and I have my gorgeous Bengal cross cat, Rocky.
I look forward to greeting you all in practice and meeting all your beloved pets.
Hi there! My name is Shelley and I joined the Vets 4 Pets Preston team as a Client Care Adviser in July 2024. My background is in volunteer rescue whilst living abroad, and I have spent many years fostering, rehabilitating and finding homes for stray and unwanted dogs and cats.
I have two rescue dogs of my own, Freddie and Darla who are Bahamian potcakes, and I love to go exploring our beautiful Lancashire countryside with them.
My favourite part of the job is getting to know all of your pawsitively pawfect fur-kids and the copious amounts of cuddles and kisses on offer!
Hi, I’m Joshua!
I joined Vets4Pets Preston in May 2025. I was looking for a career change, and have always loved the idea of working with animals. I think all animals are wonderful, and I can't wait to meet yours!
In my spare time I like to write, watch films or go for long walks in nature—that is, when I’m not catering to the every whim of my very demanding elderly cat, Gracie.
