Meet the team

Matthew is our Practice Owner and Joint Venture Partner and opened Vet4Pets Trowbridge in 2015.
Originally coming from a strong farming and working-dog background, he quickly moved to full time small animal work at the beginning of his career and is now a vet of 21 years experience (having qualified from Bristol Vet School in 2003). Matthew has always lived locally (Mendips) and has spent the majority of his career to date serving pet owners in the wider Somerset and Wiltshire areas, including working as Clinical Director in a multitude of local practices such as Frome, Warminster, Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon and Bristol.
Matthew has always been interested in surgery and takes in house referrals from vet colleagues such as the trickier soft tissue cases and some orthopaedics.
When not operating, Matthew loves nothing better than the huge satisfaction of consulting with his loyal and regular clients, many of whom he has known for several years and across several different employments. Matthew takes pride in getting to know his clients really well, to thoroughly understand their concerns and get to the bottom of their pet’s needs (sometimes literally!).
Outside of work Matthew enjoys general rural and outdoor life, following Bath Rugby and having fun with his young family.
Matthew really hopes to see you at the clinic soon where you will be assured to receive a warm and personal welcome.

Zoe graduated in 1999 from Bristol. She spent the next 20 or so years working at a local practice, and then spent a couple of years in emergency night work before returning to General Practice with Vets 4 Pets in April 2023.
Zoe's special interest is in dentistry and she hopes to promote a proactive approach to our pets' oral health within the team.
Outside of work she has a family of teenagers along with her 2 pointers and 2 cats. She enjoys amateur dramatics and home improvements along with weekends away in the caravan.

Heather graduated from Bristol Vet School in 2015 as a mature student, having previously pursued a career in dancing.
She loves all things furry, but her real passion is cats, with a special interest in feline medicine and behaviour. She is often described as “the crazy cat lady”, although prefers the term “the cat whisperer”. She owns a very sweet spaniel and a rather crazy cat!

Anna joined the team in December 2020 as our Clinical Team Leader. With over 20 years experience in veterinary nursing, she has bought a wealth of knowledge and experience with her. Anna enjoys the fast paced side of surgeries and has a keen interest in anything dental.
In her free time she enjoys running and keeping fit, spending time with her family and friends, and long walks with her dogs Rafi and Leo.

Gemma has been nursing in practice since 2011 where she started as an Animal Nursing Assistant. She joined our team in Oct 2018, she especially enjoys emergency work and caring for critically ill patients. In her spare time she enjoys family time and keeping fit in the gym.

Rochine joined the team in 2019 as a student nurse, and then returned to us once she had qualified.
She loves expanding her knowledge and has recently targeted her learning toward diet management and weight clinics.
When Rochine isn’t busy keeping everyone’s spirits up in the practice, she can be found sitting down with a good book, cooking, or travelling the world.

Sinead joined our team in January 2022 and brings with her over 30 years experience in the industry.
Her favourite thing about working with us is carrying out consults, especially weight management, dentistry and senior pet clinics. Sinead also has a huge soft spot for sight hounds. When she's not busy helping our clients Sinead likes exploring the countryside and coast with her dogs Pippa and Penny, playing table tennis, reading a good book and planning her next holiday or weekend getaway.

Abi joined our practice in May 2019.

Amelia joined the team in May 2021 and is our student vet nurse. She works full time, as well as studying to be a registered vet nurse!
Her favourite part of the job is being so hands on with the animals, and knowing that we’re making a difference to their lives.
When shes not looking after our lovely patients, she can be found walking her dog Scampi, and spending time with her reptile menagerie. She’s also a huge fan of horror films.

Serina has been a loyal team member of the practice since it opened in Jan 2015. She has worked in the veterinary profession for over 18 years, starting out as a receptionist. Prior to this she worked in the Pets At Home store, so has worked with animals for a long time.
She has a keen love in bull breed dogs and has fostered and homed many over the years. Currently she owns two rescue Staffie crosses, as well as a hairless Sphynx cat that thinks he's a dog!
In her spare time she enjoys competing in agility competitions with her dogs, and travelling the country in her Camper Van.

Laura Fielding
Deputy Head Receptionist

Alex joined the reception team in March 2021 and his hard work is a real asset to the practice.
Alex’s favourite thing about working here is getting to meet all of your wonderful pets whilst working on the desk.
When he’s not at work, Alex can be found spending time with his nephew and niece, discovering new restaurants, and baking.

Debbie joined our busy reception team in May this year, having previously worked in A&E.
Her favourite thing about work is meeting all the pets and getting to have a little cuddle behind the desk.
When not answering the phones and helping our clients, Debbie enjoys travelling the world, discovering new foods and crafts like diamond painting and book folding.

Tash joined our busy reception team in December 2021 but has been working in the veterinary industry for 4 years.
Her favourite thing about working with us is meeting all our wonderful clients and getting to know their pets.
When not busy helping our clients Tash spends her time with her 2 mad dogs and 2 beautiful cats. Tash loves doing obedience training and agility with her rescue dog. She loves to spend time exploring different towns on dogs walks and discovering new pet shops to spoil them with a little treat. Tash also enjoys crafting, and relaxing in the garden.

Alison Little
Receptionist
Welcome to Vets4Pets Trowbridge and thanks for looking us up! We are a modern and purpose built fully-fledged veterinary clinic with one sole purpose – to serve you and your pets. We might be inside a big retail store and work alongside one of the UK’s biggest and most familiar corporate veterinary brands, but we take pride in our individuality and local feel. Vets4Pets Trowbridge is locally-owned and run by Dr Matt and his team, which means you get to know us as much as we get to know your pets. Our position inside Pets at Home offers you ultimate convenience without compromise. Our team of experienced and compassionate vets, nurses, and receptionists are on-hand 7 days a week, with the most up to date training and equipment.
We offer all the routine clinical services you would naturally expect such as vaccines and neutering’s. Equally, we are also fully able to perform the more complex orthopaedic, dental, laparoscopic (‘key-hole’) and soft tissue operations, as well as advanced diagnostic imaging and a state of the art laboratory for rapid on-site investigations. We have everything covered to help keep your pets happy and healthy. What’s more, being part of a retail park provides you with ample free parking as well as opportunities to treat yourself and your pet with various department stores and coffee shops right on our doorstep. But don’t worry, if you or your pet ever need some quiet or privacy, just ask for directions to our private rear entrance when booking your appointment.
To learn more about each of our team member's special skills and interests, and about our practice’s facilities, take a look around our website and Facebook page, give us a call – or pop by and meet us!
