Meet the team
Dr Hayley Baker
Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon
MA VetMB GPCert (endo) MRCVS
Hi Everyone! I am Hayley the Practice Owner at Vets for Pets Bar Hill and Cambridge Beehive. I qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2008 from the University of Cambridge. I then spent a few years in Ireland working in first opinion practice, gaining valuable experience in soft tissue surgery and emergency and critical care. I moved back to Cambridge in 2012 where I started working for Vets for Pets on Barnwell Road and took over as Practice Owner of both Vets for Pets Cambridge and Cambridge Beehive. Since then, I have gained a post-graduate qualification in endoscopy and endosurgery, of which there are only a handful of us across the country and now champion minimally invasive procedures, not only in our practice but across the entire Vets for Pets Business. For this reason, I was awarded a grant by Vets for Pets to include a state-of-the-art training facility in our new Bar Hill Practice, to help encourage uptake of, specifically, laparoscopic neutering.
At home I look after my two daughters Evie and Ysmay with my husband Rob, who is originally from Histon. I also spend any free time I have running and you will regularly find me running around the village during lunch time!
Jessica grew up in Hong Kong, but moved to the UK 18 years ago to pursue her dream of being a vet. She qualified from the university of Liverpool in 2012. She started her career as a mixed animal vet and became a small animal only vet when she joined Vets4pets Cambridge in 2018. Her special interest is learning anything new! She has a certificate in small animal surgery and is studying for an ophthalmology certificate currently. She has two mischievous rescue lurchers, enjoys CrossFit, travelling, completing daily quests on Duolingo and anything food-related.
Hello! I am Katie, you may have heard me referred to as 'Tiny Vet' by some of my colleagues. I joined the practice in June 2022 and I am mainly based at the Beehive practice. I have an interest in unusual medical cases and I am currently studying for a further qualification in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Outside work, I am a keen skier alongside going to the gym, baking, crafting and socialising.
I graduated as a veterinary surgeon in 2019 in Spain and moved to the UK in the same year. During my first year I developed an interest in Radiology and Ultrasonography and completed my GP Certificate in Diagnostic imaging in 2023.
Outside of work you can find me on my spinning bike at the gym! I also enjoy cooking and spending time with my partner, friends and my two lovely cats Bruno and Brenda.

Megan graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2022 and joined Cambridge Vets for pets in the same year. Her interests are medicine cases but she generally enjoys all aspects of first opinion practice, especially getting to know all of our patients and clients! Outside of work Megan spends her time travelling, cooking, running, seeing friends and family and going on adventures with her cheeky corgi, Penny!
Hi my name is Kelly, I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2009 with a BSc in Veterinary Nursing, I have also completed certificates in dental nursing and wound management. I joined the Vets for Pets Beehive team as Head Nurse in October 2025.
I love being a veterinary nurse and particularly enjoy looking after the patients staying with us at the surgery and also conducting nurse clinic appointments. I love seeing our patient’s journeys and being able to play a part in making them feel better.
Outside of work I enjoy crafting, yoga and spending time with family & friends.
I graduated from the royal veterinary college in 2023 and joined Vets for Pets in September 2025.
I enjoy all aspects of nursing, but I am passionate about working in theatre and anaesthesia, where I am planning to get a certificate in surgical nursing.
My favourite breed is a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel but I love all animals in all shapes and sizes.
In the future, I would love to travel using my degree to help with conservation and rescue projects around the world.
Hi! I’m Izzy, a recently qualified RVN (July 2025) with a BSc in Veterinary Nursing and Applied Animal Behaviour. I love every part of nursing, but hospital and inpatient care are where I’m happiest as I love watching patients recover and head home feeling their best.
I’m also slightly obsessed with all wildlife species, especially pigeons (they were the star of my dissertation!). At home, I’m kept on my toes by my Labrador, Pepper. In my spare time, I play guitar and piano and enjoy gaming with my partner and friends. I’ve also volunteered at a wild bird hospital in Cornwall and love any opportunity to keep learning and expanding my knowledge on all things veterinary.
Hi, I’m Amelia. I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in June 2025 after completing my BSc degree at Middlesex University. I have a strong interest in anaesthesia, particularly in delivering safe and effective perioperative care. In addition, I am eager to expand my knowledge in physiotherapy with the aim of enhancing the overall quality of life for patients recovering from injury or surgery. Alongside my clinical work, I have a strong interest in travelling and volunteering abroad, where I enjoy sharing my knowledge of animal care and supporting communities in improving animal welfare. In my spare time, I enjoy rock climbing, spending time outdoors and playing the guitar.
I began my journey at Vets for Pets Cambridge in 2020 during the pandemic. I worked as a student nurse during Covid-19 and have since graduated in 2023. I have special interests in felines and their wellbeing in practice as well as dentistry. Outside of work I love travelling, gymnastics and crafty hobbies such as crochet! I have two cats called Raja and Dora at home who came back with me from Malaysia.
Charlotte Pace
Registered Veterinary Nurse
BA (Hons) RVN VTS (Cardiology) PG Cert (Vet Ed) FHEA
Charlotte Pace qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2003, whilst working in practice in London. In the same year she moved to the Royal Veterinary College to work as a medicine nurse. In 2006 she became cardiology nurse for the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals. In 2010 she passed American veterinary technician exams and became the first nurse to hold the Cardiology qualification outside the US. From 2012 to 2015, Charlotte taught veterinary nurses on both degree and diploma programmes. In 2015 she returned to veterinary practice, and continues to write and lecture on veterinary cardiology. She will be President of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) 2022-2023. She has a passion for cats, and serves Arthur, her black and white rescue cat. They have lived happily together for 10 years.
I joined the practice in December 2025 after working as a dog walker and dog groomer.
I love being a part of an amazing team who are all so passionate about animal welfare.
In my spare time you can find me walking my retired spaniel called Tia.
My love for animals started from a young age being raised in a household with rabbits, guinea pigs and cats. In 2011, I started college studying animal care and graduated in June 2013 with a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management.
Young and unsure of my future I joined the workforce in retail for ten years but in February 2025 I made the decision to return to my love of working with animals by becoming a Veterinary Care Assistant at the Beehive practice.
I joined the fabulous team here at Vets for Pets Cambridge in May 2019. I began as head receptionist and progressed to practice manager, where I oversee both our brand new Bar Hill practice, and our Cambridge Beehive practice as well. I love meeting all of our amazing clients and their beloved pets and helping in any way I can.
Outside of work I have five crazy cats and one pony, and love spending my time travelling and attending live music events.
