I’m one of the founding practice partners of both Leeds and Colton Vets4Pets. I became a vet in 2001, qualifying from Glasgow University. I’ve done and seen most things veterinary through the years but my main passion has always been successfully performing surgical procedures to make animals better. I have achieved my certificate in “Small Animal Surgery”, and am a recognised “Advanced Practitioner”. This enables the excellent clinical teams here to take on more difficult cases in-house that may usually need referral away to specialist centres. As such we can perform and offer our clients most procedures within our friendly first opinion practices. Our guiding team ethos has always been “to do the best for our pets and clients in everything that we do”, which has driven the success of our popular, happy, family run practices.

I qualified from Glasgow University in 2001. I initially worked on the Foot and Mouth Epidemic, based in Ripon, and then went into mixed practice near John's home town of Sudbury in Suffolk. After a year of this John and I decided to see the world and work as locum veterinary surgeons as we went. This gave us a wealth of experience, not only in challenging medical and surgical cases, but working with animals and people from many different walks of life. Looking after donkeys in Mexico, and stray dogs in Thailand certainly made us realise how privileged we are to have the standard of veterinary care that the United Kingdom can offer. We settled in Yorkshire in 2004, having fallen in love with the countryside and the people during our time helping farmers during the Foot and Mouth crisis. I like all aspects of general practice and love the varied interaction with all of our patients and clients. My main interest is medical work ups, especially complicated cases! At home, I enjoy family time with our 2 young boys, and our little black and white 12 year old crossbreed Mali (who you may see scamper in behind me when we come to work). After starting and growing Leeds Vets4Pets, John and I have expanded our family to cover East Leeds with Leeds Colton Vets4Pets where we will assist in a lot of the behind the scenes work.

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and following a short stint working in London moved up to Yorkshire. I started working for Leeds Vets4Pets in 2010 leaving in late 2015 to travel the world visiting India, South East Asia and Australasia. After arriving back I settled back into UK life until our daughter joined us in January 2017. Elsa and myself became partners in Leeds Vets4Pets in November 2017 opening up Leeds Colton Vets4Pets in January 2018 alongside John, Hilary and Lauren. The time had definitely come for a new challenge and the opportunity to work alongside each other and the other partners seemed like the perfect antidote. I love interacting with both clients and patients alike and carry interests in general surgery, ultrasound and physiotherapy into my job. I will be starting a surgical certificate in the near future to help in his daily work. Out of work I find sport a great release from the daily commute. I partake in team sports and compete in triathlons against John (and others of course). Our canine buddy of many years Tiernan keeps me company on my training runs along with many walks in the great Yorkshire countryside. The rest of my time is split between tearing around after our cats Worm and Maureen and our highly active daughter and new son.

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and following a short stint working in London we moved up to Yorkshire starting in a multidisciplinary veterinary hospital. I became partner in Leeds Vets4Pets in November 2017 opening up Leeds Colton Vets4Pets in January 2018 alongside John, Hilary and Lauren. The time had definitely come for a new challenge and the opportunity to work alongside each other and the other partners seemed like the perfect antidote.  I have particular interests in dermatology and rabbit medicine so working with Pets at Home looking after their small furries has been particularly enjoyable. I use my time outside of work to practice Yoga, visit my friends and family and plan our next travels. The rest of my time is split between tearing around after our cats Worm and Maureen and our highly active daughter and new son.

I qualified from Liverpool University in 2001. Initially I worked in mixed practice treating "All Creatures Great and Small" including dairy cows, sheep, dogs, cats and horse. After two years I decided to focus down my clinical work to small animals so I could improve my knowledge and skills in one area. In 2010 I decided to further my study and attained the Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. Having worked at various practices in the Yorkshire area I joined Vets4Pets Leeds In November 2015 as a locum vet. I enjoyed working here so much I decided to make it my permanent home! My main clinical interests are surgery, particularly soft tissue surgery, ultrasound and ophthalmology. I also enjoy the challenge and rewards getting to bottom of those tricky cases and seeing my patients recover and the joy this gives to their owners. I enjoy the type of travelling that broadens the mind and have volunteered as a visiting veterinarian at both WVS India training centre for vets in surgery and at a Peruvian rescue centre for street dogs. Out of work my hobbies include walking (sometimes long distances!), running, cooking, Spanish and meditation.

I graduated from the University of Bristol in 1996, having also obtained a degree in Pharmacology. I then worked in mixed practice for five year before spending a year working and travelling in Australia – where I loved being involved in treating the native wildlife. In 2002 I moved to Leeds with my husband Fergus, and have worked for small animal practices and charities in Yorkshire ever since. My particular areas of interest are ophthalmology, emergency and critical care, animal welfare education, and rabbit and small mammal medicine. I have two school aged children (Anna and Archie), two dogs (Jimmy the Jack Russell and Alvin the bull lurcher), two gerbils and a goldfish! In my spare time I like walking my dogs, playing the cornet, socialising and reading.

I have worked at Leeds Vets4Pets since it opened in July 2010. I became a partner here and at Leeds Colton Vets4Pets in November 2017 assisting the other partners in growing the practice from the design stage through to the daily running of both practices. The best part of the job is nursing animals back to full health following their illnesses and surgeries. This allows me to build great relationships with clients and their pets. I have a particular interest in feline behavior and am currently working on my ISFM Diploma in Feline Medicine. At the moment, I have a sulky black & white moggy named Mrs Norris, a guinea pig named Bambi and a Labrador called Sammy.

My career with animals started within a grooming and boarding establishment whilst completing an Animal Care apprenticeship and training as a professional dog groomer. From being young I had always wanted to be a veterinary nurse, so I begun working for Vets4Pets in 2013 as a Student Veterinary Nurse and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2015, from there I continued my studies and have just gained my Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical care. I enjoyed the varied days that come with being a nurse, and experiencing different cases we get every day. At home I have a 1 year old cat called Benny T and I enjoy reading, sewing and attending music events.

I started work experience at Leeds Vets4Pets in 2017 and started my veterinary nursing training in September 2018.
I knew from a young age that I wanted to work with and care for animals. I have experience with a wide range of exotic and domestic species. I have also volunteered in an exotic rescue centre.
In August 2019, I had an amazing opportunity to visit Welgevonden Game Reserve in South Africa.
I am enjoying my veterinary nursing training and love meeting clients and their pets.
In my spare time, I can be found looking after and entertaining my own 13 small furry pets.

started working at Vets for Pets in 2019 when I began my training at Askham Bryan College. I had previously completed an advanced technical diploma in Animal Management where I was very lucky to gain hands on practical experience with many different types of animals. I am really enjoying my veterinary nurse training and know I have chosen the right career.
In my spare time I enjoy baking and looking after my two cats LuLu and Effy and my very greedy dog Daisy.

I have always maintained a passion to work with many different animals, both practically and clinically along with developing more experience into animal diseases, health, anatomy, welfare and behaviour. I started my apprenticeship September 2020, after completing an extended level 3 diploma in animal management. This interest is combined with several years of work experience working in settings such as companion and welfare industries, zoological collections, veterinary practices and farming livestock. I have always wanted to work within the veterinary sector; until I gathered experience and realised the aftercare of patients was what interested me. I enjoy working at vets4pets and meeting so many new patients – no case or animal is the same which excites me the most with coming to work, as well as working with a wonderful team. Hopefully after I qualify, I would like to specialise in exotic animals – specifically primates, widening my knowledge and ability within the veterinary nursing profession and medicine. This was an interest from working at Flamingo Land Zoo, shadowing the zoo vet throughout college.

Outside of education, I enjoy photography and art; creating and producing my own work which I have continued on from high school. I also like to travel and see new places and get outdoors as much as possible. While looking after my crazy cat, Tinkerbell and my dopey Doberman, Buff.

started working at leeds vets4pets in September 2020, I’m new to the veterinary industry as I previously worked in call centres which wasn’t the right fit for me. I’ve always had a passion for animals especially my 2 dogs Bart and Lola and also horses as I have had my own from a young age and competed in show jumping. Eventually I would like to work my way up to be a veterinary nurse as working on reception has given me a good insight into the role."

I started working for Vets4Pets in July 2010 when we opened. I previously worked for a bank in their call centre, this job is so much better. I currently have no pets at home but thousands when I come to work. My spare time is for family and friends and I also love movies, reading, knitting and on occasions, baking.

With a passion for animals and a particular interest in conservation, I left my career in the tourism industry in Cornwall, and in 2010 completed a National Diploma in Animal Management at Bridgwater College in Somerset. Since returning to Leeds I’ve been an active volunteer at Dogs Trust, and love helping out on their fundraising days. I started working for Leeds Vets4Pets in May 2017 and really enjoy it. No day is ever the same and seeing pets go home happy and healthy is really rewarding. In my spare time I enjoy walking, swimming, travelling (especially New Zealand), attending music events and cake decorating in which I have won several international awards. Not forgetting spending time with my handsome cat, Hector.

We would like to extend a very warm welcome from our family run veterinary practice to you, your pets, and your family.  We are very pleased to be given the opportunity to assist you with any advice, support and veterinary treatment that your pets may require and we hope to build a long and fruitful relationship with you and your pets.

Although we are here to provide care to sick and injured pets, we would like to emphasise that we see keeping healthy pets healthy, as an equally, if not more, important role as a veterinary practice.

We offer a modern, air-conditioned, clean and well equipped practice with extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff with a wealth of experience. The practice is purpose-built to provide state of the art veterinary care for your pets. Appointments with veterinary surgeons and nurses are available throughout the day for your convenience and we endeavour to keep these running to time.  Outside of our normal working hours our clients have access to a dedicated veterinary emergency service which is continually manned by both veterinary surgeons and nurses.

We are very proud of our family-run practice that opened in July 2010 and we hope it was apparent from your first visit or phone call to our clinic how highly we value our relationships with both owners and their pets, and the high standards of quality care that our patients receive.

Although the delivery of high quality veterinary care can be costly, we endeavour to maintain reasonable and competitive prices, and we have several promotions throughout the year which provide you with opportunities to get even more value for your money.

We look forward to taking care of your pets in the future.

Opening Times:

EVERY DAY 9AM - 7PM
