Meet the team
After working as an auxiliary nurse for the PDSA back in 2001, I went onto train as a Veterinary Nurse within this animal charity. I then went into private practice and later become an ECC nurse for an out of hours company. I am particularly interested in emergency cases due to my back ground, and I am passionate about ensuring that every pet that visits us has the most comfortable and pleasant stay.
I am currently studying and hope to achieve my certificate in ECC VN in the future. I have three cats, Rupie, Ike and Tina Turner, and a cross collie/labrador called Audrey, who is my best friend.
Prior to joining the Penny Lane team in February 2016, I worked at Rutland House Veterinary Hospital, where I began my veterinary nurse training in 2004. After qualifying in 2006, I worked initially in the first opinion side of the practice, then as a referral ward nurse, an oncology nurse and also practised physiotherapy.
From a very young age I have always been passionate about working with animals and I hope to bring that enthusiasm, together with the skills that I have developed over the years in practice, to my new family at Penny Lane.
I have a particular interest in animal rehabilitation & physiotherapy. Outside of work I live with my husband Chris and our little Mogwai Pippin who we rescued when he was 3 & 1/2 weeks old. He has a heart condition so he sees a cardiologist regularly.
My name is Libby and I'm one of the Veterinary Care Assistants at Vets4Pets Penny Lane. I am passionate about animals and their welfare. From early on in my life I have actively been involved with animals in many ways. This has included taking care of my own animals and volunteering in organisations that make a real difference to the welfare of animals. I intend to further my career by becoming a veterinary nurse within the practice. I live with my four dogs Sonny, Ruby, Cally, Murphy and two cats Missy and Georgia.
My name is Lyndsey Baker and I am a 3rd and final year degree level Student Veterinary Nurse. My passion for animals started at a very young age and I always knew I wanted to be a veterinary nurse. I currently have 5 cats, a French bulldog, a hamster and a horse named ‘Dolly’ who I adore very much. I love working at Penny Lane as it is a busy, fast-paced, friendly Practice! I look forward to graduating next year and pursuing my dream career as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
I have 8 years of experience working with animals. I have worked in a boarding kennels and cattery, helped at animal charities then worked at an out of hours emergency veterinary clinic where I got my inspiration to become a veterinary nurse.
I have a first diploma in Animal Care and have completed an Animal Nursing Auxiliary course. I am currently training as a Student veterinary Nurse here at Vets4Pets Penny lane. I live with my 12 year old cat Parsley.
My name is Rachel, I am currently in my first year of studying to become a Veterinary Nurse. I have always loved animals and after finishing school I went to college to study the National Diploma in Animal Management.
My career started working in boarding kennels and after quite a few years progressed onto working part time at Vets Now Emergency clinic and then onto the PDSA. I began working at Vets4Pets Penny Lane in June and I have loved every minute.
Outside of work I live with my partner Jason and our beautiful 12 year old crossbreed dog, Skully.
My name is Sarah and I’m originally from Germany but moved to Liverpool a few months ago. I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in Germany and am currently trying to get my UK nursing qualification.
My passion for animals started at young age and I am obsessed with rabbits and Corgis. I live with my partner and my two house rabbits, Tiffy and Chewbacca. I’d love to get a Corgi one day but my two rabbits are causing enough trouble at the moment.
My name is Claire, I have worked at Penny Lane since we opened in 2013. I started employment as a Client co-ordinator which enabled me to progress to Practice Manager in 2017. I enjoy meeting all kinds of different people and their pets but also enjoy getting stuck into the business side of the practice. In my precious time away from work I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and scruffy dog called Eddie who is the biggest baby in the world.
My name’s Rebecca and I am originally from Luton but I am currently studying in Liverpool. This is my first experience working in a veterinary practice and I am thoroughly enjoying myself whilst learning a lot. I have worked in multiple fields from hospitality to dentistry and I feel that the great team here and the vibrant environment makes this job feel a lot less like work. Throughout my childhood I have been surrounded by pets so I feel right at home here!
