Meet the team

I graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2007, and ever since have concentrated on small animal medicine and surgery. I enjoy all aspects of general practice, but I do have a special interest in surgery – both soft tissue and orthopaedics. I have worked across the UK, gaining experience in practices in both Scotland and England. My goal is to bring the discipline and best practices from these previous experiences to a warm and welcoming surgery delivering the highest standards of patient care. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my rescued pet - Minnie the Chihuahua. I am looking forward to providing the best quality care, and cannot wait to meet my new clients and their much loved pets!

I graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2009, and have worked in Small Animal practice ever since. I have a particular interest in internal medicine, particularly feline medicine. I have worked in practice in Yorkshire, before returning to Scotland to work. I have gained some experience in exotic pets and have treated some very unusual animals! I love working with animals of all shapes and sizes but cats are my particular favourite. Outside of work I enjoy a variety of crafting related hobbies, including knitting, sewing and painting. I also have a cat of my own, a seven year old black and white called Echo, who keeps life interesting and entertaining! I am delighted to have taken this next step in my career as a vet by joining the team at Dumbarton and look forward to meeting your beloved pets and providing the best care for them.

I adored animals from an early age and knew I wanted to pursue a career with them in mind. I was delighted to fulfil this dream and graduate from Glasgow University Veterinary School in 2005. I have focussed on small animal first opinion practice since my graduation, including a period as an OOH emergency clinician. I enjoy all aspects of small animal practice but have a particular interest in surgery and emergency work. Additionally, I am trained and practice Veterinary acupuncture. When I am not working or spending time with my young family, I am an avid reader, a mediocre pianist and a semi-skilled baker. I joined the Vets4pets Dumbarton team in January 2019. I was quickly made to feel welcomed by staff and clients alike. It is really lovely to be part of such a close knit friendly team. I hope to be here for some time to come and look forward to meeting even more clients and caring for their beautiful pets.

I am originally from New Hampshire, USA, and after completing my first bachelor’s degree at home, I decided to move abroad and study veterinary medicine at Glasgow University. I graduated in 2018 and made the choice to continue my adventure in Scotland. I have worked in small animal practice for the last three years and hope to continue! I love the new and challenging cases that walk through the door every day and am particularly interested in soft tissue surgery. In my free time I enjoy cooking and baking, spending time with family and friends, visiting local coffee shops, and exploring Scotland!

Originally from California, I made the choice to move abroad to Scotland to pursue veterinary medicine at the University of Glasgow. After graduating in 2020, I worked as a mixed practice vet in Ayrshire for a few years. I then felt it was time to change focus and further my skills as a small animal vet. I’m excited to provide an excellent standard of care within the Vets4Pets family and develop my interests, especially surgery. Outside of work I enjoy hill walks, reading, baking, and spending time with my Labrador (Orzo) and moggie (Tuna).

My name is Melanie I joined the Vets4Pets family in August 2022. Originally from California, I came to Scotland to train at the University of Glasgow. Once here I fell in love with Scotland and decided to make it home. My special interests include surgery and working with exotic species. I share my home with my wife, two cheeky dogs and two perfect rescue cats. When I’m not working I enjoy running, painting and gardening.

I have always had a keen interest in animals from a very young age. When I left school I worked with clydesdale horses and highland cattle. I then went on to complete a course on animal care at Oatridge College, while attending college I volunteered at a local community farm. I have worked in Vets4Pets Dumbarton since we opened our doors in 2014, my role within the practice was Veterinary Care Assistant, I then carried out extensive training to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse which has lead me to my position of Head Veterinary Nurse. I am very lucky to work with a great team within a job that I love! Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband and my daughter, our favourite thing to do is go on long walks and adventures with our wee dog Archie.

I have always worked with animals in some sort since leaving school. I went to college to study animal care when I left school, then I worked in a boarding kennels and cattery for just over two years and then into a veterinary practice for the past three and a half years. I graduated from college in Edinburgh in 2018. I love working with animals! I have a terrapin, fish and a sweet little cat called Norma.

I started at Vets4Pets Dumbarton in May 2016 when I was on placement as a student veterinary nurse. I then took on the role as one of the weekend receptionists in October 2016 whilst continuing my placement work. I graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in June 2018 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. At home I have a labradoodle called Nova and a cat called Oliver who are lots of fun. I enjoy meeting all of our clients and their lovely pets and I am really lucky to be able to do a job that I love in a great practice.

I have been working with the practice since 2017 when I started as a student on placement, I am looking forward to continuing my career here as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. I particularly enjoy carrying out nurse consults as it lets me get to know our patients, as well as, our lovely clients. I loved studying at SRUC Barony and at Edinburgh Napier Universities as I gained experience with many different animals. From dairy cows, to hedgehogs and everything in between. In my spare time, I like Munro bagging and running with my cocker spaniel Frankie.

I started studying veterinary nursing at SRUC Barony in 2018, spending 2 years in Dumfries, and joined the Vets4pets Dumbarton team in August 2020 to complete my final year student placement. I was then lucky enough to be offered a job here, and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in August 2021. I have wanted to work with animals for as long as I can remember, and I really like how every day in this job is different. At home, I have 2 cats of my own called Magic and Loki, who love to play and cause chaos! I also have a guinea pig called Biscuit. He is an older boy who I rescued and is living out a nice chilled retirement! In my spare time, I like to go horse riding and spend time with friends and family. I am excited to continue working with such a great team and to meet all of your pets!
