Meet the team
I qualified in the last months of the last millennium, and have spent the intervening years in general practice in the South East and North East respectively. After several years working in dedicated Emergency and Critical Care, I graduated into full time management for a while.
In 2020 I returned to general practice and joined the Durham Vets For Pets team when Kevin invited me to join as joint JVP.
In my spare time - such as it is - I keep a pack of border collies, and enjoy (or not) home renovation!
I qualified as a vet in 2005 and worked at our sister practice for a while before becoming a partner in the Washington practice in 2014. I enjoy performing surgeries, particularly orthopaedic procedures such as cruciate and fracture repairs. In the little spare time I have I enjoy spending time with my family, playing basketball and getting out on the open water.
I qualified as a vet in 1998. I opened Durham Vets for Pets as JVP in 2003. Then, in 2014, I joined forces with Mindaugas opening the Washington surgery. I enjoy all aspects of my job and providing as broad and accessible service to the pet owners of the North East. Outside of work I enjoy playing badminton and spending time outdoors with my family and all of my own animals at home.
Since I qualified, I have worked at different veterinary practices throughout Spain and the UK.
I started working at Durham Vets4pets in 2020 and am currently completing an additional certificate in small animals surgery.
Outside of work I enjoy cooking and trekking and am the proud carer of 4 yorkies, 2 cats and a wife.
I started working at Vets4Pets in 2022, at work I’m always keen for a day in surgery or a litter of kittens!
At home I have my newly acquired rescue cat, Samson and my family cats, Stan and Ron.
I qualified as a vet in 1998. I have worked in general practice, emergency and critical care, blood banking and more recently, regenerative medicine. I obtained a master’s degree in veterinary research in 2021. I thoroughly enjoy being a vet and see it as a privilege to have a career working with and treating animals. Outside of work I enjoy academic writing and research, photography, riding horses, skiing, paddle boarding and running. I am happiest outside in the countryside on a calm lake, river or in the sea spending time with my family, friends and menagerie of (pretty much all acquired by accident/rescue) animals.

I have worked for Durham Vets4Pets since September 2018 and have been Head Nurse since April 2022.
In my free time I enjoy working out with aerial acrobatics or at the gym, lazy days with Netflix and computer games, or adventure planning and travelling- hiking, paddle boarding, exploring, photography and surfing.
I qualified as a nurse in 2021 and have worked for Durham Vets4Pets since September 2018
Outside of work I spend lots of time with my pets which are a springer spaniel, horses and sheep and I also enjoy horse riding, paddle boarding and spending time with the young farmers club.
Hi, I’m Rosie.
I have worked at vets4pets since 2018 as a VCA (Veterinary Care Assistant) and then I completed my nurse training and qualified 2022.
I enjoy all aspects of the job but am particularly interested in inpatient care and meeting pups, kittens and clients in consult.
I have 7 silkie chickens and a cockatiel plus I am also a full time Labrador fan!!
I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) back in 2021 but have been with the practice since early 2016 starting as a Student VCA (Veterinary Care Assistant). I enjoy all aspects of my field, however I am working towards furthering my field of knowledge on all things nutritional based. I love all the animals that we meet, but I do have a bit of a soft spot for any Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Bulldogs that we come across.
In my spare time I enjoy reading and spending time with friends and family. At home I have 2 cockapoos and a sassy cat named PussPuss.
I started working for Vets4Pets in September 2022 as a Veterinary Care Assistant and I am now going into my first year of veterinary nursing. I enjoy spending time with my rats, dogs and hamster and I spend my weekends volunteering at an animal rescue shelter working with all kinds of wild animals.
Hi, my name is Ellie and I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
I have a toothless Jack Russell Terrier at home who is my biggest supporter and my best friend. Veterinary has always been an extraordinary career, there are never two days the same and learning all about the anatomy of our patients has been so interesting.
I like playing games and watching scary movies. I love autumn with all the pretty colour leaves, the cosy feeling and everything pumpkin spice!
I am a Student Veterinary Nurse and I’ve worked at Durham Vets4Pets for little under a year.
In my spare time you can usually find me studying or at the boxing gym sparring or on rare occasions streaming video games for a small twitch community. I have a 16 week old collie and a 5 year old collie that I often walk on the beach.
Hi! My name is Amelia and I’m a Student Veterinary Nurse.
I joined the Durham Vets4Pets team in September 2023 and am really enjoying it as no two days are ever the same and I love meeting all of the patients we see.
In my spare time, I love taking my 2 dogs (a cocker spaniel and labrador) on long walks and spending time with my friends and family.
I joined Durham Vets4Pets in March 2023 and I have enjoyed every day since with this wonderful team.
I feel very lucky as my role provides me with plenty of challenges and also gives me the opportunity to spend time with both our 2 legged and 4 legged friends which I love.
I believe I’m supposed to say something interesting about myself here but there isn’t really much to share unless you would be interested to know that I am a woman who eats chocolate every day and sometimes has cake for breakfast.
Pets: Archer & Toulouse (The Alley Cats)
I started work at Vets4Pets Durham in July 2019. I love my role at Vets4Pets and feel lucky to work with such a great team. Working around animals every day is a dream and if I’m away from the desk, you’ll probably find me in the cattery!
When I'm not at work I enjoy spending time with friends & family, getting creative, exploring new places and bingeing a good series on Netflix.
I have worked at Vets4pets for 8 years and I am proud to be part of such an amazing team.
When I am not working I enjoy spending my time with my many animals which include 1 horse, 2 ponies, 4 dogs, 3 cats and lots of Pygmy goats.
I have worked at Vets4Pets for over 4 years and It’s the best job I have ever had. I love the people I work with and of course seeing lots of animals all day is perfection.
My other love is insects. I adore them. I have a spider window at home and I enjoy watching the spiders going about their day and catching lots of food.
I have three dogs and two fan tail fish and I would have lots more animals if I had the space for them.
Melissa has been in the veterinary industry for 10 years on two different continents, the bulk of which has been with Durham Vets4Pets. Melissa has 6 full-time pets and frequently takes in interlopers and sometimes boarders. Pictured here is the master of the house, Watson. Watson is 11 years old and was once a life-saving blood donor, though is now retired.
Helping people who want the best for their pets is what I enjoy most about this role. No two days are ever the same but every day involves meeting some great people and seeing some lovely pets.
The people here are all focused on the best outcomes for the animals that come into the practice which makes for fantastic team spirit.
Hi my name is Stacey and I am the newest member of the practice and started in July.
I have worked at several other practices over the years but can honestly say I have never worked with such an amazing, caring and thoughtful team.
I am currently owned by 5 cats and 2 dogs, Harry a 4 year old wirehaired vizsla and Ty a 9 week old crossbreed.
Outside of work I enjoy socialising with family and friends, camping and very long walks.

The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
