Meet the team

Rachel qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1999 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and has worked in small animal practice in the south-east of London ever since, apart from a year in 2006 spent teaching Veterinary Medicine at a University in central China. Rachel loves being a vet and enjoys being able to make a difference to the well being of animals and the families they belong to.
Rachel enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and has a wealth of experience gained over the years which, combined with her teaching experience, allows her to support the rest of the team well. Rachel has special interests in ultrasonography, cardiology and exotic animal medicine, and she is very happy to be working with such a capable and caring team here. Outside work, Rachel enjoys spending her free time with her husband, two young children and kitten Lea, swimming and walking.

Kate qualified from the University of Agricultural Veterinary Faculty, Latvia in 2008 and has been working in small animal practices since then.
She loves all aspects of her work, and is particularly interested in surgery. Outside of work Kate enjoys travelling the world, photography and gardening. She has 2 cats: a male Bengal called Leopold, and a female Savannah called Manutin (both pictured). Kate loves meeting all our clients and their pets!

Angie grew up in Athens, Greece and moved to London in 2018 after graduating from university in Sofia, Bulgaria. She joined the Old Kent Road team in November 2020, having previously worked in other small animal practices in Athens and London.
She enjoys all aspects of her work but particularly enjoys surgery and dentistry. Outside of work, Angie loves exploring London, meeting up with friends, hiking, travelling the world and visiting her family and her dog, Albo, in Greece.

Imanol is originally from the South of Spain and qualified in July 2020 from University UCH CEU in Valencia (the sunny land where paella comes from!) He has previously worked as a mobile veterinary surgeon in several small animal practices and a veterinary hospital around Berkshire.
Imanol enjoys both veterinary medicine and surgery but has a particular interest in internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors (especially when he’s in Spain with his dog Thor!), he loves travelling and keeping active and this year he’s training to run a marathon!

Mihai was born in the Republic of Moldova and at the age of 18, moved to Cluj-Napoca, Romania to study veterinary medicine. He graduated in 2014 and since then, has been worked in a vast variety of areas of veterinary medicine, including laboratories, small animal practice and mixed veterinary practices(small and farm animals).
In September 2018, he moved to Blackpool and joined for the Vets4Pets family for the first time and enjoyed every day! Three years later, he moved to London for a new experience and remains a valued member of Vets4Pets Old Kent Road.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, watching football and exploring old castles.
He looks forward to meeting you and your pets!

Leigh joined us in 2017 after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College with a BSc (hons) degree in Veterinary nursing. Shortly after this she became our head nurse and now leads our nursing team.
Since being at Old Kent Road Leigh has developed a particular interest in anaesthesia and emergency and critical care. Having recently gained a certificate in anaesthesia, Leigh spends a lot of her time with our surgical patients.
Leigh also enjoys teaching and training and so plays an important role in the training and development of our student veterinary nurses as a clinical coach and supervisor.
Outside of work Leigh can often be found baking or out for a walk with her Labrador Sonny.

Melody qualified in 2017 after completing an apprenticeship to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. As well as being a valued member of our nursing team, Melody also recently became our clinical administrator.
Melody enjoys all aspects of nursing and owns an array of pets including guinea pigs, hamsters, a cat, and even has a budgie!

Emily is one of Old Kent Road’s longest standing colleagues, having been with us since September 2016. She previously studied at Chelsea College of Art where she gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, before working as a studio assistant for a woodwork artist.
Emily has lots of hobbies, including DIY, eating out and exploring London (her favourite city in the world!) having moved here to attend university and loving it so much.
Emily’s favourite part of her role is fixing equipment and organising areas to help the day run smoothly and enjoys walking around London on her days off with her pet Chihuahua Moris!

Kelly joined us in June 2020 originally as a member of our reception team. She soon moved on to beginning her training to become a Veterinary Nurse in January 2021.
Since working with us, Kelly has adopted a cat called Thom who was handed into us as stray who you can see pictured! Outside of work, Kelly enjoys photography and can often be seen taking her Lurcher, Todd, on adventures around London.

Libby joined us in January 2019, originally as a member of our Client Care Team on Reception. She then became a Veterinary Care Assistant and in September 2019 progressed to commencing her professional training to become a registered Veterinary Nurse.
Prior to working with us, Libby graduated from London South Bank University with a degree in digital photography, which she put into use by taking all our website photos! She has a very creative background and after university worked as an office manager and production assistant for a photography company, but always felt like there was something missing from her career and after a long hard think, realised her passion was animal care.
At home, she has 2 Staffies, Mimi and Tyson – along with their new ‘little sister’ Lola, a kitten who Libby and her fiancé have recently adopted. When we asked Libby what her favourite part of her job is, she said “I love it when a puppy or a kitten comes in for their first vaccinations and you get to watch them grow up from a distance”

Having previously studied Veterinary Nursing at university, she soon decided to study an apprenticeship with us and is now one of our Student Veterinary Nurses.
Rozy's favourite part of the job is seeing sick animals get better, and of course giving them cuddles! At home, Rozy has a pet cat called Bueno, and in her spare time enjoys picnicking and bike rides around London.

Persia studied Psychology and Sociology at Thames Valley University before beginning a career in TV and film. After having her son, Persia worked as an account manager in an Estate Agents and then in various financial management roles.
At home, Persia has a cat named Delta Blue, and 2 rescue cats who originally were handed to us as strays, Charlie and Athena, who live like kings and queens!

Currently studying Psychology at university, Sydney joined our team to satisfy her other love in life: animals.
Outside of work, you would find Sydney at home looking after her two cats, Jasmine and Margot, her cocker spaniel, Monroe, and her African Grey Parrot, Stanley!
