Meet the team
Rachel qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1999 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and has worked in small animal practice in the south-east of London ever since, apart from a year in 2006 spent teaching Veterinary Medicine at a University in central China. Rachel loves being a vet and enjoys being able to make a difference to the well being of animals and the families they belong to.
Rachel enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and has a wealth of experience gained over the years which, combined with her teaching experience, allows her to support the rest of the team well. Rachel has special interests in ultrasonography, cardiology and exotic animal medicine, and she is very happy to be working with such a capable and caring team here. Outside work, Rachel enjoys spending her free time with her husband, two young children and kitten Lea, swimming and walking.
Kate qualified from the University of Agricultural Veterinary Faculty, Latvia in 2008 and has been working in small animal practices since then.
She loves all aspects of her work, and is particularly interested in diagnostics and internal medicine. Outside of work Kate enjoys travelling the world, photography and gardening. She has 2 cats: a male Bengal called Leopold, and a female Savannah called Manutin (both pictured). Her favourite famous animal is the big, beautiful dog, Beethoven! Kate loves meeting all our clients and their pets!

Poppy grew up in South London with her many guinea pigs, family dogs and all the creatures at Vauxhall City Farm! She graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2018 and joined the Old Kent Road team in April 2020, having previously worked at a busy small animal charity hospital.
Poppy enjoys both veterinary medicine and surgery, but has a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and helping elderly patients achieve the best quality of life possible in their golden years. Getting to know our clients and their wonderful pets is always an important part of Poppy's day.
Outside of work, Poppy spends time exploring the sights of London, hiking, visiting friends and family all over the UK, and relaxing with her adorable 3 legged rescue cat called Benji.
Emily is one of Old Kent Road’s longest standing colleagues, having been with us since September 2016. She previously studied at Chelsea College of Art where she gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, before working as a studio assistant for a woodwork artist.
Emily has lots of hobbies, including DIY, eating out and exploring London (her favourite city in the world!) having moved here to attend university and loving it so much.
Emily’s favourite part of her role is fixing equipment and organising areas to help the day run smoothly and enjoys walking around London on her days off with her pet Chihuahua Moris!
Libby joined us in January 2019, originally as a member of our Client Care Team on Reception. She then became a Veterinary Care Assistant and in September 2019 progressed to commencing her professional training to become a registered Veterinary Nurse.
Prior to working with us, Libby graduated from London South Bank University with a degree in digital photography, which she put into use by taking all our website photos! She has a very creative background and after university worked as an office manager and production assistant for a photography company, but always felt like there was something missing from her career and after a long hard think, realised her passion was animal care.
At home, she has 2 Staffies, Mimi and Tyson – along with their new ‘little sister’ Lola, a kitten who Libby and her fiancé have recently adopted. When we asked Libby what her favourite part of her job is, she said “I love it when a puppy or a kitten comes in for their first vaccinations and you get to watch them grow up from a distance”
Holly has been with the Old Kent Road team since July 2020, originally beginning her animal care career working as one of our Client Care Advisors.
Since joining the team, she has adopted her pet rabbit, Gloria, and Yorkshire terrier, Sheila, who were originally handed to us as strays looking for a new home.
Holly's favourite part of her role as VCA is caring for our patients post operatively, and making sure they get lots of TLC when recovering from their procedures!
Melody qualified in 2017 after completing an apprenticeship to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse, and has also completed VCA qualifications.
Melody owns an array of pets including, guinea pigs, hamsters, a cat, and even has a budgie!
She loves all aspects of nursing, however is particularly interested in admin based work, recently becoming our Clinical Administrator.
Kelly joined us in June 2020 originally as a member of our reception team. She soon moved on to beginning her training to become a Veterinary Nurse in January 2021.
She originally studied photography, and began her career working as a studio photographer in her home town before moving to London to pursue her dream of working with animals.
Kelly loves all aspects of nursing, and particularly loves the big dogs that visit the practice, especially German shepherds, so much so she even has a tattoo of one! Since working with us, Kelly has adopted a cat called Thom who was handed into us as stray who you can see pictured!
Persia studied Psychology and Sociology at Thames Valley University before beginning a career in TV and film. After having her son, Persia worked as an account manager in an Estate Agents and then in various financial management roles.
At home, Persia has a cat named Delta Blue, and 2 rescue cats who originally were handed to us as strays, Charlie and Athena, who live like kings and queens!
Natasha recently joined us in June 2021, having previously graduating with a degree in dance choreography, and even still teaches fitness classes!
Being a lover of big dogs, she even has 2 lovely snow dogs, Luna the husky and Akiba the malamute, who ultimately led her to change her career path and begin working with animals.
Natasha's favourite part of the job is meeting and greeting all the customers and their adorable pets!
Gabriella has a passion for animals and began her journey into animal health care in April of this year. She was previously working in Customer Experience and Hospitality with multiple venues across London and found her love for animal care when a Doggy Market was hosted at her venue. The pandemic offered a lot of perspective and inspired her to take the leap and pursue Veterinary Care.
Gabriella has an adorably chubby cat named Nacho, who she adopted after he was brought into the practice as a stray. Thankfully Gabriella is a foodie too, so it was a match made in heaven!
Gabriella’s favourite part about working in the practice is witnessing the birth of new life at the practice and the joy it brings to both ourselves and the pet parents. Everyday is a learning experience and there is never a boring day.
Rozy's favourite part of the job is seeing sick animals get better, and of course giving them cuddles!
At home, Rozy has a pet cat called Bueno. She is currently studying to gain a degree in Veterinary Nursing, however in her spare time enjoys picnicking and bike rides around London.
Daniella studied Wildlife Conservation and Zoo Biology at the University of
Salford, and after her degree decided to spend some time in Indonesia
volunteering with animal charities.
Over the past few years, Daniella has worked in the travel industry, but decided
she would love to work with animals again and joined the Old Kent road team in
January 2021. In the future, Daniella would like to pursue a career in veterinary
nursing. At home Daniella has a cat called Rufus, and in her spare time enjoys running
and bouldering. Her favourite part of the job is meeting clients and their pets.
