Advanced services
We have invested considerably in our team and kit to make a number of advanced services available to our clients. We also accept referrals from other practices.
Orthopaedics
Our veterinary team have undertaken advanced training to allow us to perform orthopaedic surgery in our practice. If your pet develops an abnormality involving their skeleton or joints, such as elbow dysplasia, a patella (kneecap) that gets stuck, or a torn cruciate ligament, an orthopaedic procedure may help them.
Ultrasound
We are pleased to be able to offer ultrasound scanning in practice, which is a painless way to look inside your pet’s body to find out what’s going on.

Meet the team
My name is Mehmet Parlak, and I am a dedicated veterinary surgeon in Portishead with a strong passion for animal health and surgical excellence. I graduated in 2023 from Bursa Uludag University in Turkey, where I built a solid foundation in veterinary medicine and developed my clinical skills.
In early 2024, I moved to the United Kingdom and began working as an Official Veterinarian, focusing on both human and animal health. This role allowed me to contribute to public health initiatives while ensuring the welfare and safety of animals.
During my university years, I was always passionate about advancing my expertise in small animal veterinary care, focusing on providing personalized and compassionate treatment for pets. Driven by this passion, I transitioned to working as a veterinary surgeon in late 2024, dedicating my efforts to small animal care and enhancing my skills in this specialized field.
Hi, my name is Ivana. I come from Slovakia, where I graduated as a Veterinary doctor in 2024 at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice. I have an amazing cat called Riško, who I rescued as a stray because he was in very poor shape. I have helped manage an animal shelter for a few years and fostered lots of animals, especially neonatal ones. When it comes to my hobbies I have too many to count. To name just a few, I horse ride and currently loan a pony, climb both lead and boulder, sing, tissue culture plants and many more.

I have been a nurse since June 2023, the best part of my job is being with the animals throughout thier whole journey, getting to know thier individual characters, gaining thier trust and being their voice.
In my spare time I enjoy gardening, sewing and outdoors with my two horses and four dogs.
A fun bit about me..I love mashed potato and jumping in muddy puddles!
My name is Henry. I studied Veterinary Nursing with Companion Animal Behaviour at the University of a Bristol. After graduating in 2023, I worked at Langford Veterinary Hospital for a year before moving to Vets 4 Pets Portishead. My favourite part of nursing is anaesthesia as there is always something to learn. Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, reading, indoor climbing, playing video games and taking my rescue dog Bowie on long walks, when I’m home
Hello!
I'm Rhianna and I'm the Practice Manager here at Vets4Portishead. You'll probably see me most at the reception desk chatting away to our lovely clients getting to know them and their pets. I stepped into the veterinary reception role when we first opened at the start of 2018.
At home, I have a cat named Elsie who I absolutely adore. I love getting to meet the wide range of pets that we see within the practice, and the constant learning we have each day!

Client Care Advisor
Hi! My name is Jenna and I am a client care advisor here at Portishead Vets4Pets. I love animals and have always worked with animals in some way including volunteering at a kennels, working in a pet shop and doing an animal management course.
I grew up owning rats and rabbits and now have an Eurasier called Kaiba who has a never before seen neurological condition. When I’m not at work I’m often looking after my dog, watching Formula 1 or listening to music. I also love photography and going to concerts when I get the chance.
I enjoy working here as no two days are the same and you get to meet so many different animals and people as well as learning new things!
Vets4Pets Portishead is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
I have loved all the new challenges and opportunities that the practice has provided and I have loved getting to know all the friendly clients and their pets.
