Exciting news...
Our practice has had an upgrade! We have upgraded and expanded our facilities, and we also have a fresh new look and feel. But don't worry, the same great team continue to provide the same fantastic care.
Could your pet be a life saver?
We are always looking for cats and dogs to join our blood donor register. Dogs must be between 1 and 8 years old, feline donors between 1 and 10 years old. Canine donors must be over 25kg and feline donors over 4kg. They should be healthy and not on any treatment for any condition. If you think your cat or dog could be a lifesaver please contact us for more information.
Orthopedics
We have skilled orthopaedic surgeons, who have undertaken advanced training. They perform joint and spinal surgeries within the practice as well as fracture repairs and torn ligament repairs.
Soft Tissue Surgery
Soft tissue surgery is a varied discipline and includes surgical procedures that do not fall under the remit of orthopaedic surgery.
Dental
Dental treatment is a common and routine part of veterinary clinic. Pets however are always individual and any methods and procedures below may be altered to better fit your pet such as scale and polish, x-rays and extractions. We have a dedicated dental suit which means we can do more dental procedures as they can be carried out at anytime!
Minimally-invasive procedures
We offer Minimally-invasive procedures which means less pain, shorter hospital stay, and fewer complications for your pet. This includes bitch spay, liver biopsy, gastropexy.
Feline Internal Medicine
We provide the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, of the internal systems of cat's.
Cardiology
If your pet develops a heart condition, we can support you and your pet at every step of the way, starting from diagnosis to ongoing care.
Dermatology
We focus on managing or treating conditions relating to the pets skin, eat, hair and claws.
Oncology
We offer services such as cytology, staging, administration of chemotherapy.
Hospitalisation and Critical Care
Unlike most veterinary practices, we offer 24-hour hospitalisation for patients that require fluid therapy, intensive care or post-operative monitoring after advanced surgeries/interventions. Our nurses will look after your pet overnight, making sure that they are comfortable and settled during their stay so you can rest from home. As well as our spacious dog kennels and an isolation room for infectious cases, we have introduced a new cat-friendly cattery to minimise the stress to our feline patients.
Endoscopy
This is a minimally-invasive technique to visualise internal organs (gastrointestinal, respiratory or in some cases, the urinary tract), to guide sampling and even to remove foreign bodies without the need of surgery.
CT Scanner
We have a state-of-the-art CT scanner allowing us to evaluate your pet’s anatomy in great detail. It is the gold-standard modality to inspect the head and to diagnose respiratory, vascular and various orthopaedic diseases. Also, it is very useful in some neurological and abdominal conditions.
We offer outpatient appointments for cases not registered with us, which includes a final report by a board-certified radiologist. Your vet can contact us directly to arrange this.
Imaging
With our digital radiography equipment we can obtain high-quality images, including contrast studies (gastrointestinal, urinary, angiography).
Our modern ultrasound machine allows us to image the abdomen and to take samples from internal organs. Also, we can carry out thoracic and musculoskeletal ultrasounds.
Senior Clinics for Cats and Dogs
Your pet doesn’t always need to see their vet to receive essential healthcare, our veterinary nurses also run clinics to help you keep your pets in top condition.
What type of nurse clinics are available for your pet?
We offer a range of nurse clinics such as: weight clinics, diet trial, puppy and kitten nutrition and senior nutrition.
Cat behaviour clinics
Cats have been popular household pets for thousands of years, so if you share your home with a feline friend, you’re joining an ancient tradition! We offer cat behaviour clinics to help you understand your cat better.
Arthritis and pain management clinics
Nurses can help you to keep your pet mobile, whether they’ve developed osteoarthritis as they’ve aged or because they’ve had orthopaedic problems or injuries. They can monitor your pet’s mobility, work with you on how to spot signs of pain and advise on diet and activity levels. Nurses and vets work as a team to help keep your pet comfortable and active.
Meet the team
Jose Monreal
Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon
LdoVet GPCert (SAM) CertAVP MRCVS
This is Luis, along with Jose he has been a Joint Venture Partner here at Vets4pets Rustington since 2010. He graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in Spain in 1996 and came to call England his home in 1997. At work Luis favours surgery and orthopaedic cases and loves getting his hands dirty with the specialists who visit the practice. When not at work Luis channels his inner spirit animal (the goat 🐐), climbing mountains, big or small!
This is Costo, he is the Head Veterinary Surgeon here at the practice, graduating in 2008 from the University of Madrid. He immediately embarked on a three year internship specialising in internal medicine. After a stint on the Mediterranean Coast, he decided to move to sunny England. He has worked at Vets4pets Rustington since, combining his clinical work with periodic internships, attending conferences and working towards a certificate in internal medicine. Outside of work you’ll find him reading, watching tennis, or planning his next big adventure around the world
Hello, I am Marta. I qualified in Madrid back in 2002. After working for more than 10 years with small animals around the Madrid area, I decided that England will give me a better opportunity to develop my professional skills and to do what I like most, which is looking after our great small animals companions (Failing that, I also like Gardening and cooking). So here I am...
Raquel qualified in Lugo, Spain in 2013 where she did a one year rotating internship. She spent three years improving her skills working in a small animal practice. She then decided to come over to England to continue to improve and develop her skills in a larger practice.
Raquel is currently completing a Post Graduate Certificate in General Small Animal Surgery through Liverpool University.
Outside of work Raquel enjoys traveling, watching TV series and spending time with her cheeky chihuahua.
Oliver grew up in Leon, Spain which is apparently the best Spanish City for tapas!
Oliver qualified in 2011 in Leon and continued working in Spain for nearly 4 years before moving to the UK in 2016. He first joined the Practice in 2017 for a year and then went to Anderson and Moores to do an internship. Oliver returned to the Practice in 2020. His main interest is feline medicine and he is currently doing a post-graduate course to be a specialist in this field.
When Oliver is not working or studying he enjoys watching football, cooking and traveling with Raquel.
Tracy was brought up in East Sussex and studied Veterinary Science in Bristol. She graduated in 1998 and has worked in West Sussex most of the time since then. She joined the Practice at the end of 2010 and now works part time in Rustington.
Outside of work Tracy enjoys cycling, swimming, walking and looking after her cats.
Emma joined the Practice in 2019. She has a special interest in canine and feline cytology and oncology.
She lives with Cacahuete, Pistachio (the dogs) and Lola (cat).
In her spare time Emma enjoys hiking with her dogs and getting lost in the forests and mountains. She also enjoys reading and going to the cinema/theatre.

This is Claire our Head Veterinary Nurse, she qualified in 2010 but has been nursing since 2000. She joined the team here in 2008 from a mixed practice, that dealt with a variety of animals including exotics, horses and farm animals. In her spare time she enjoys photography and restoring and showing her classic Mini Cooper. She has a soft spot for all things cute and cuddly, never resisting a hug with a cheeky looking Terrier or fluffy Guinea Pig.
Emma grew up in West Sussex. She qualified in 2021 after completing a three year Veterinary Nursing Course at Plumpton College. She has been with the Practice for five years initially working nights as a Veterinary Care Assistant.
Emma is our star at triaging patients to help out the vets and ensure clients are seen as soon as possible and get the best treatment. She enjoys emergency care and anaesthesia as well as caring for our hospitalised patients.
After she qualified her gift to herself was her beloved Stanley – a gorgeous mini dapple dachshund. Stanley is welcomed by all the staff for cuddles when he visits.
When Emma is not at work she spends her time with Stanley, going on long walks, meeting family and friends and generally recharging her batteries.
Sarah grew up in Littlehampton but lived abroad in various countries for many years. She studied at Plumpton College and later went on to gain her teaching certificate. She then continued to work at Plumpton College teaching Animal Management for five years.
Sarah initially joined the Practice in 2007. She loves dealing with rabbits and rather strangely enjoys emptying anal glands!!
As well as her veterinary qualifications she also has a Certificate in Adult Education. She is now our top class clinical coach and is responsible for training our hard working students.
In her spare time Sarah enjoys going to the gym and gardening. She is also extremely creative and crafty from homemade hair accessories to seasonal decorations and bunting. She is ably assisted by her cocker spaniel and ragdoll cat.
This is Katie, she has just qualified as a veterinary nurse, completing her training here with us She first joined the team in 2016 as a receptionist but always knew she wanted to be a nurse. At home, she has 4 cats, and a Labrador called Radley that keep her occupied.
Congratulations from your Vets4pets family, we knew you could do it!
Bruna was born and grew up in a small city in North Portugal called Barcelos. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse with the Agrarian College of Ponte De Lima from the polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo in 2017.
She did her internship at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Porto, and in August 2016, she started working at the Animal Blood Bank as a veterinary nursing student. After finishing her degree, she continued to work there until September 2019 where she took part in accreditation in cat friendly clinics.
Since 2014, she was a weekend volunteer in an animal rescue and rehabilitation centre called Projecto Associacao Animais de Barcelos.
Bruna moved to the UK in October 2019. She has worked in Vets4pets Rustington since December 2019 where she qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. Bruna would like to develop her interest in animal rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
Katie grew up in London and qualified as an RVN in 2016. She previously worked in a feline only practice and has a Certificate in Feline Nursing from the International Society of Feline Medicine. If you have a stressed cat or one with behavioural issues she runs a clinic to offer help and advice.
Katie continues her love of cats at home with the beautiful but deadly Brian (who is a girl!) and her new sister Mud.

This is Stacey, she has worked for the practice for 14 years as a kennel assistant. She has a real passion for all animals. In her spare time she enjoys spending it with her family, listening to music, watching films and long walks in the country.
I have been working at Vets4Pets Rustington since 2009, starting as a receptionist and now in the position of Client Service Manager.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling.
Tracey grew up in Sussex and has worked in the legal sector dealing mainly with personal injury cases. She joined the Practice in 2019 as a part-time Receptionist and is now the Practice Administrator. She has now completed her VPAC (Veterinary Practice Administration Certificate) and is looking forward to future training courses.
She has always had a real passion for animals and had her beloved horse for 25 years. She has had an array of animals and currently has 5 dogs (a Jack Russell, two Whippets and two Wiggies), 2 kittens, a small parrot and 5 tortoises!
Any spare time that crops up Tracey enjoys taking all the dogs out, watching a film or reading a book.
Catherine joined the Practice in 2014 working as part of the Reception Team.
When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the zoo/farm and generally having adventures.
Lisa only joined the Reception team in September 2021 but is really enjoying the challenge and learning all the time. She has quickly settled into the team.
Lisa has lived in Rustington since 2005 having moved from Surrey. She is kept busy with 3 cats, 2 dogs and 2 daughters!
In addition to working in Reception she also works in ‘out of hours’ childcare Monday to Friday. If she has any spare time (which is not often) it is usually spent watching her youngest play football.
Sam started with the Reception Team in 2019.
She studied small animal care and pre-vet nurse training when she finished school. Because she is a farmer’s daughter she then went on to do a 3 year Agricultural Management course but due to a knee problem left the farm behind and went back to small animals and became a pet shop manager for a National chain for 5 years. This is where she met her husband.
Sam gave up work when she became a mother but during this time still had time to complete several independent qualifications in canine nutrition. Sam used to have horses but since having children gave this up.
When not at work or being a taxi service to her children she loves dog training and has trained with local clubs in obedience and is staring agility with her GSD Gryffindorg. Along with him she also has 2 other dogs – Herbert and Ted, a cat called Bear and three teenage children.
In the evenings Sam can be found either playing netball as a GS or GK or umpiring as she is working towards her C award
Lisa has been with the Practice since 2015 on the Reception Team. Lisa loves meeting clients and of course their fur babies.
Lisa has two young children and a cat called JakJak. Lisa is very keen to get a new family member but one that has a wagging tail!
In any spare time she has Lisa enjoys going out with her family for walks and to play parks. She also enjoys the odd binge watch on Netflix with a glass of wine!
Ella joined the Practice in 2020. She is a crazy animal lover and has her own little Romanian Rescue dog as well as having two small human babies.
In her free time, if she has any, she loves a spa weekend as well as alcohol and cake! She enjoys going for long walks on the beach. When she can she enjoys watching movies and especially likes scary ones.
Amy joined the Practice in 2018. She grew up between London and Sussex.
Amy has a Business Diploma and is also a qualified Hair Extension Stylist and Nail Technician.
At weekends Amy enjoys raving, eating out and spending time with her nan.
Carol joined the Practice in 2014 when she initially started at Rustington, worked over at the Chichester Branch and in 2021 transferred back to Rustington where she loves working on Reception and with the rest of the team.
Carol has had a few rescue dogs – Koda the German Shephard is one of them – a big softy who enjoys his fun days at the Paddock and is progressing nicely.
In her spare time Carol loves camping, good food, wine and lives life to the full. She also loves fast cars and once worked for Formula One Racing. Will she be the new Lewis Hamilton – who knows!
