Dr. Judith Archbold
Practice Owner and Veterinary Surgeon
B.Sc. MA.VetMB. GPcert. (EM+S). cert. AVP (gSAS). MRCVS. RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery.
I was born and bred in Southampton. I have a degree in Zoology from Cardiff University and graduated as a veterinary surgeon from Cambridge University in 1994. I have since gained further qualifications in emergency medicine and surgery (GPcertEM+S) and soft tissue / orthopaedic surgery (certAVPgSAS). I have always worked full-time in small animal practice, mostly in Hampshire, with some “time out” working in New Zealand …. I emigrated, taking my dogs and cat with me …. then we all came back as I missed the lovely weather here! I have a menagerie of 2 mad Labradors (Scout and Tegwen), a rescue cat (Finn), 4 tortoises (Hector, Jessie, Martha, Quinn - aged between 16 and 85 years) and some rescued ex-battery hens running around the garden.
In my spare time I enjoy dog walking and I play Timpani / percussion in Ocean Brass Band. As a family we always had boats ….. the beach is still my favourite place ……. and I go sea fishing with friends, but only in warm weather nowadays! I enjoy all aspects of running the practice, but I’m happiest in theatre as have a bias towards surgery. I have a great team working with me to maintain a high standard of veterinary care for our patients.
I qualified from the University of Lisbon, Portugal in 2020 and have been working in small animal practice in the UK ever since. My main areas of interest are diagnostic imaging (ultrasound) and medicine; I am developing my skills in surgery. My main goal is to give the best care possible to your pet.
I have a cat called Branca. Outside of work I keep busy with reading, playing sports, travelling, socialising with friends and taking care of my growing collection of house plants.
I have had a passion for animals since I was very young; and I’ve been working with them since 1993 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2000.
I have a particular interest in reptiles and own several species of them. At home I keep snakes, lizards, tarantulas and two Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
I also have a keen interest in dog psychology and behaviour. I enjoy training my own dogs and I am currently undertaking Search and Rescue training with my dog Vinnie.
I began my veterinary nursing career in 1999 at a local practice. I have worked with a large variety of species including farm, equine and zoo animals (due to my previous life as a keeper at Marwell Zoo). At home I have two rescue cats called Squirrel , who has 3 legs, and Luna Mooncat: a chicken, a tortoise, a snake , as well as any waifs and strays I bring home from work. I enjoy all aspects of my job, but particularly dealing with dog / cat aggression and behavioural issues.
I have had an interest and passion for animals since I was very young. My family has always owned a variety of pets. I have been studying animals since 2017. I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2024: I hope to go on to study for a degree in Animal Behaviour and a masters degree in Animal Physiotherapy.
I enjoy the pharmaceutical, laboratory and diagnostic imaging side of veterinary nursing; as well as running my own nurse consultations.
I grew up in London but moved to Southampton for university, where I graduated with a Zoology degree. In the past I have worked in pet shops and volunteered in animal shelters. I am looking forward to becoming a qualified veterinary nurse.
At home I enjoy doing anything creative, reading and gardening. I have 2 cats, a dog, a snake, a gecko and a bearded dragon - which require most of my attention. I enjoy all aspects of work but especially learning about exotic pets.
I work full-time as a Client Care Advisor. I have moved back from London where I was working as a receptionist at a doctors' surgery. My role within the team has developed to include more administration, such as processing insurance claims and Cats Protection Charity paperwork.
I enjoy keeping fit and regularly go to the gym. I am currently learning to drive.
I work part-time as a Client Care Advisor. I have 10 years of customer service experience and always try to keep a positive attitude and welcome everyone with a smile... especially their pets!
I have 2 cats, Robyn ( a Bengal-x) and Willow ( a little fluff ball), which unfortunately hate each other!
In my spare time I am part of a Musical Theatre Group which regularly performs in the Waterside area. I have taken part in many shows including Les Miserables, Oliver, Spamalot, The Sound of Music and even played the main character in last year's pantomime Puss in Boots.
I enjoy being part of the Reception Team as no day is the same. I always make time to go out the back to the kennels and cattery to give the in-patients some extra love.
I work full time. I have worked in a variety of customer service and administrative roles over the years. I own a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and I enjoy spending time with my family. I like working as part of a team and love seeing all the different animals that come into the Practice.
Vets4Pets Totton is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound.
