Scott Crichton

BVMS MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon and Practice Owner

Joint practice partner Scott Crichton BVMS MRCVS is originally from the Morayshire area of the Scottish northeast, and after spending countless hours at weekends at his grandparent’s farms he decided the life of a vet was for him. After what seemed a very quick five years at Glasgow Vet School, Scott worked in the Borders and then Glasgow gaining experience in farm, small animal and equine practice. For the last twelve years Scott has worked locally in Edinburgh providing care for all manner of pets, and professes a secret love of guinea pigs, having owned several alongside his moderately behaved Lab called Brook.

Emma Gatenby

Veterinary Surgeon and Practice Owner

Emma graduated from the Royal Dick Vet School Edinburgh in 2013. She started working at Davidsons Mains Vets4Pets as a surgeon in 2016 and became practice partner in 2018. She is currently completing a certificate in small animal medicine and surgery. Emma loves all kinds of animals but has a particular fondness for German Shepherds. She lives in Edinburgh with her dog Kobi, her cats Damon and Kai, 3 snakes and a bearded dragon called Spyro.

Aimee Murray

Head Nurse

Head Nurse Aimee joined the Vets4Pets team at Davidsons Mains in June 2013 having completed her Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing at Edinburgh College. She gained experience in small animal practice in Edinburgh and at the Glasgow University Small Animal Hospital. In June 2018 Aimee was promoted to head nurse.

Originally from Perthshire, Aimee has always had a lifelong love of animals. Growing up on a farm she was surrounded by dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and chickens.

She enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a keen interest in feline nursing and behaviour. During her spare time Aimee enjoys going to the cinema and reading crime novels. Aimee is kept on her toes by her adorable but mischievous cats Poppy and Jasper.

 

Holly Walker

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Holly is the newest addition to the vet nursing team at Davidsons Mains having graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in June 2018. Originally from the western isles of Scotland, Holly grew up in a large animal crofting community and knew from a young age her passion was to work with the furry and four legged. She has a particular interest in dental health, having recently completed her own research project on the benefits of tooth brushing in dogs. In her spare time she enjoys attending music events and spending time with her family and friends. She shares her home with her rescue cat, Blue.

Cora Orphant

Receptionist

Cora is part of the reception team here at Vets4Pets Davidsons Mains. She enjoys her job meeting new client and their pets. She joined the team in November 2017 after coming from a retail management background. She lives at home with her 3 Chihuahuas Ella, Archie and Joey, 2 cats Tipex and Polly, 2 rabbits Piper and Drummer, her dwarf hamster Oreo and her African pygmy hedgehog Barry. In her free time she loves going for long walks with the dogs and she also plays the bagpipes.

 

Sara Tongue

Receptionist

Meet one of our Veterinary Receptionist’s Sara; she graduated from Bishop Burton College after studying for a BSc(Hons) in Equine Business Management and, after many years as a groom and manager of Equestrian Centres, decided to have a change of pace to domestic pets. She has two Staffies which are both rescues, Cassi and Gaz, who love to snooze their senior days away or go walking in the country parks around Scotland. Sara has worked previously for the PDSA and RSPCA in England and is a registered Foster Carer for the Dogs Trust here in Scotland. When she isn’t at work, or walking her dogs, you’ll find Sara out horse riding, helping her partner restore classic cars or curled up with her dogs and a good book.
