Joe Binfield BVetMed BSAVA PGCert (SAS) MRCVS

RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College and have gained great experience, particularly in surgery, working all over the south of England. Further to qualifying I have recently passed the British Small Animal Veterinary Association Surgical exams. This is an intensive three year course where Veterinary Surgeons are taught by Specialists to perform more advanced and technically demanding operations including orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery.

Away from the operating table I really enjoy playing rugby. Dan and myself met on the rugby field ten years ago and I’m very excited to be owning a practice in Abingdon with my close friend only a stone's throw away from where my grandfather was born.

I also own a very noisy three legged cat called Yogi!

Daniel Preece BSc (Hons) BVetMed (Hons) MRCVS

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2012 and shortly afterwards gained a scholarship at the world renowned Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, working as part of the Emergency and Critical Care Team and Intensive Care Unit.

Since then I have worked at a small animal veterinary group in North London and have been working towards a further qualification in Advanced Veterinary Practice. My clinical areas of interest are intensive care, acute medicine and diagnostic imaging, although I enjoy all aspects of veterinary practice.

Ever since Joe and I met at the Royal Veterinary College 10 years ago we have dreamed of opening a practice together and we are delighted to finally be in a position to do so. Our clinical areas of expertise and interests complement each other well and we aim to provide an exceptional level of clinical care across a wide variety of veterinary disciplines. We believe in providing the highest level of clinical care to our patients coupled with an unparalleled level of customer service and personal care to our clients.

Joe and I played rugby together for many years, and while he still takes to the field, I've swapped my rugby boots for a cricket bat and a set of golf clubs! I have two dogs, "Watson" and "Doug", a three-legged cat called "Archie", a giant house rabbit called "Oliver", and a rather formidable chicken called "Bettie"!

I love nothing more than a good dog walk finished off with a great pub lunch!

Jo Brett BSc RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I completed an FdSc degree in Veterinary Nursing before topping up to a BSc (hons) in Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management at Harper Adams University, graduating in 2010. I am also a voluntary regional co-ordinator for the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA). I am very passionate about nursing and delivering the highest standards and best care to my patients.

Away from nursing you will likely find me baking or salsa dancing. I love travelling, exploring new parts of the world and being adventurous. After 3 years working as a locum, I very much look forward to my new role at this brand new surgery and meeting all our new clients and pets.

Amy Thornhill RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Despite coming to this role from an administration position in a busy Oxford College, I have always loved, and been surrounded by animals; mostly dogs. A number of my Dad's relatives are farmers in the north of the country who we visit whenever we get the chance. I am lucky enough to have had a variety of pets in my lifetime, including several small animals, a large rabbit and a wonderful rescue dog. I am currently the owner of a lovely little cockapoo called Immy.

I have 7 years training in art, and in my spare time I am often creating costume pieces, as well as digital and traditional artwork. I also enjoy relaxing by playing video games and taking my dog for walks around Abingdon.

Fiona Loveridge

I have been a veterinary receptionist for over 8 years now. I first started out at Sommerville vets in Auckland New Zealand where I worked until 2014 and I joined the Vets4Pets team here at the beginning of December 2016.

I’ve already acquired a 3 legged Russian Hamster called Donald Stump who now lives alongside my 2 year old male Doberman called Kobi whom I adopted from the lovely people at the Blue Cross in Buford.

I love my new role here. As well as watching the practice grow I’m also looking forward to meeting all our clients and their pets.

Away from work I love going on long walks with Kobi and catching up with family and friends.
