Meet the Biggleswade Vet Team

Biggleswade Vets4Pets Dr Philip Lambley

Dr Philip Lambley
BvetMed (Hons) MRCVS

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

After graduating from The Royal Veterinary College, I moved to Australia to pursue my interest in companion animal reproduction by working in a specialist breeding clinic. I practiced all things reproduction related in dogs and cats whilst working alongside the breeding community of Adelaide. I have an avid interest in companion animal reproduction and enjoy the challenges and rewards it brings to the veterinary team and the clients.

In 2013 I moved back to the UK and after a few months of locuming around Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and London, I settled in Luton to work for Vets4Pets. After a year in the standalone practice I helped open up their in-store practice in addition to working part time in the new Watford practice.

Along with Sarah, I am keen to develop a strong relationship with the Biggleswade community. I thoroughly enjoy working with Vets4Pets and I am excited to start our own practice in a new Pets at Home store.

Owner &Veterinary Nurse

I am the Head Nurse and Pet Health Counsellor here at Biggleswade. I have always had a keen interest in working with animals since a young age; I have worked within veterinary practices since 2004 even before I left school.

I completed a BSc Honours degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2011 and have since worked at Vets4Pets. In February 2014, I helped start up a new Vets4pets practice in Luton Gipsy Lane and have worked there since, previously working in their standalone practice for many years before this.

I enjoy running nurses clinics, interacting with the clients and getting to know their pets. Outside of work I love spending time with my German Shepherd Sky and lots of different outdoor fitness activities.

Hi, I’m Karen and I’m a part time vet. I graduated from Cambridge in 2010 at an older age than most Vets as I had previously worked in the area of household insurance for 15 years.

A life changing opportunity allowed my to fulfil my dream and retrained as a Vet. I love combining my customer service skills from my pre-Vet life with my desired to help all the wonderful pets and their lovely owners. I enjoy all areas of veterinary work from meeting pets and their owners to all the fascinating work behind the scenes with the excellent V4P Biggleswade team.

When not at work, I enjoy family time with my husband and son as well as my two fur babies, Harry the Irish Setter and noisy Jenny Any Dots the Bengal cat. I love being outdoors walking miles with my family & hound as well as looking after my garden. I’m also the Akela with a local Cub Pack.

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated as a vet from the Royal Veterinary College in 2008. I completed two junior training scholarships in small animal medicine and surgery before settling into general practice. Before joining in 2019, I worked in various small animal veterinary practices and spent some time volunteering as a vet abroad.

My interests include radiography and medicine.

Outside of work, I enjoy power-lifting and baking cakes. I also spend my time walking and cuddling my Italian Greyhound pup, Dobby.

Veterinary Surgeon

After qualifying from Cambridge university with both a masters degree and a veterinary degree, I worked at a local independent vets before moving to Vets4Pets, where I have been ever since.

I love all aspects of veterinary medicine but have a special interest in both surgery and dentistry. I am passionate about providing the highest standards of care possible to our animal patients and as such I love to learn about new techniques and advances in procedures which can ease recovery.

Outside of work I love all crafts (stitching certainly helps my surgical skills!) as well as growing my own fruit/vegetables and walking with my wonderful family and dog Cadbury. I look forward to meeting you all and your special pets soon.

Amy

Student Veterinary Nurse

I am a trainee veterinary nurse working here at Biggleswade since the beginning of 2016. I have worked within the veterinary industry since before I left school and have always wanted to work with animals. I have completed a diploma in animal care and an extended diploma in animal management before starting my training in veterinary nursing. I chose this career path as I’ve always wanted to help and care for animals and love being a part of their lives!

Although I have lots of experience in dealing with small animals I have also had a fair share of exotic species growing up and my knowledge continues to grow, as I meet lots of lovely clients and see interesting cases with their little fur babies.

At home I have my little Pomeranian Mitzi, who really is my world! I enjoy taking her for walks and snuggles in the evenings. Mitzi also likes to help out when taking my work home with me and loves laying with guinea pigs and playing with kittens, very cute!

If I am not at work you'll find me wondering for miles with my 4 year old Shih Tzu cross Yorkie called Daisy, my little fur baby.

I started working as a receptionist for Vets4Pets in December 2018 and I already love it here. I have never worked in a vets before but I have always wanted to work with animals. Animals all have such unique personalities and I love getting to meet them every day.

As a child my family had a greyhound and a number of small animals. Since living on my own I have had a hamster called Hector and one day I hope to adopt a dog… or ten.

Receptionist

I was a Veterinary receptionist for over 4 years in Devon after retiring from owning a Bed and Breakfast. Having recently moved back to this area from Devon, I have been extremely lucky to find a role here at Vets4Pets since October 2018.

This is my ideal job. I love animals, the puppies and kittens are full of fun and the older animals just love to be cuddled.

I grew up with Jack Russells and Alsatians. My husband and I have rescued two Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Our first one was from The Dogs Trust and when she sadly passed away we rescued Charlie from The Blue Cross. He is 4 years old now and thinks he is still 1 !!
