Meet the Bishop's Stortford Vet Team

Bishops Stortford V4P Gemma Bargman.jpg

Gemma Bargman

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

I have always loved animals and wanted to be a vet from a young age. I never even considered any other career paths! After graduating from Edinburgh Vet School in 2006, I worked in a busy mixed practice before moving to a smaller practice concentrating on companion animals. During this time, I completed my CertAVP (Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice) which helped me to develop a deeper knowledge of the veterinary industry and practice as a whole. I now have an understanding of how to critically analyse the quality of care we offer our patients and how to move the practice forward through this. I also achieved my CertVBM (Certificate of Veterinary Business Management) at this time.

The best part of being in practice is meeting pets with their families and watching them grow, develop and build a relationship with us. I want everyone to feel as if their pets are treated as we would treat ours - as part of our family.

Music has always been an important part of my life, and I also enjoy cooking, meeting up with friends and reading.

Katrin Knight, Dr Med Vet, MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna in 2005. Whilst working full time in a small animal hospital in Austria I continued a post graduate doctoral program at the University for two years and came to the UK in 2010.

After working in a small animal hospital with out of hours service in Hertfordshire for five years I joined the Vets4Pets group in 2015. I have been part of Vets4Pets Bishop's Stortford since April 2018.

I enjoy all aspects of small animal medicine but I particularly like internal medicine and abdominal ultrasound.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, reading and skiing in Austria.
