We met whilst at vet school in Cambridge and have worked in a variety of mixed and small animal practices. Karen was brought up in the area and went to school in Grantham and we decided to set up a practice in Grantham after we moved back two years ago.

James has a passion for all things medical and is constantly developing himself in new techniques of orthopaedics.

Karen enjoys both the surgical and medical side of small animal practice. Out of work she looks after their two young children and enjoys baking and playing squash and the piano.

Melanie Teasdale

Practice Manager and Qualified Veterinary Nurse

I started my nursing career after qualifying in 2008. I became a member of the team earlier in 2014 after working in a busy veterinary hospital. Working in a veterinary hospital allowed me to develop my skills in critical care, intensive nursing and management as I was acting head nurse.

In 2012 myself and my husband travelled New Zealand where I was fortunate enough to work in a rural veterinary practice where I was involved in lots of different and interesting cases.

In practice I run our puppy parties and offer advice and guidance along with puppy training and socialisation. I also have a keen interest in animal behaviour and nurse clinics.

Outside of work I enjoy retail therapy and catching up with friends alongside a passion in watching Formula One!

Pets: Dylan the Weimaraner and two cats Marvin and Myrtle.

Becky Flett

Qualified Veterinary Nurse

Becky has joined our team as a full time veterinary nurse. She qualified in 1998 and has achieved a certificate in Emergency and Critical Care and has also completed exams in anaesthesia and analgesia.

Outside of work I enjoy riding and showing horses and socialising with friends and family.

Sarah Brown

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

I started at Vets4Pets Grantham in September 2014. Before working here, I used to work at a soft play centre for children. They say never work with children or animals, so I decided to do both!

After school I went to Brooksby agricultural college and got two diplomas in animal care and then worked for the Ministry of Defence looking after the military working dogs!

I started on initially on reception but have now started my veterinary nurse training so will be found in the consult room instead.

When I get spare time, which isn't often, I spend time with my son, Cole, and my husband, Rich, and I love taking long walks with Luna. I also like getting stuck into a good book, catching up with my friends over a cheeky drink or two or just relaxing.

Pets: black Labrador Luna who is five but doesn't act like it!
