Marina Scoffone MRCVS

Practice Owner and Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified at the University of Turin in 1993 and, although I like all aspects of veterinary science, I have a special interest in Soft Tissue Surgery and Oncology. I am currently doing a Master in Clinical Oncology at Birmingham University and I really enjoy it. It is great working in this friendly and forward thinking practice.

I have two dogs Archibaldo and Domitilla and two cats Giulietta and Mary. I enjoy mountain trekking in the Alps, travelling and studying history, I also would like to learn playing golf.

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from the University of Murcia (Spain) in 2011. Due to my passion for travelling, I decided to move to Edinburgh in a search of new experiences. It was there that I had my first contact with the veterinary profession. Since then I have worked for several years as a small animal practitioner in different areas of the UK before settling down in Hertfordshire.

I enjoy all aspects of being a general practitioner with growing interests in ultrasound imaging and internal medicine. I always try to provide a high standard of care to my patients with a very dedicated client relationship.

In my spare time, I like playing sports and musical instruments. I also enjoy cooking, and paella is one of my special dishes! I love spending time with my family, friends and our two cats, Binks and Dalí.

Veterinary Care Assistant

I started working at Hertford Vets4Pets in October 2018 as a VCA. I have always had a passion for animals since such a young age and my dream job was to work in veterinary care. Growing up I have always been around animals including horses which has been my hobby since I was 8. When I left school, I went straight to sixth form then from there I had a small pet care business and also worked with Greyhounds.

At home, I have my rescue dog Honey and my horse, who is kept close to my house called Diago. He is an Arab which is a breed I adore- so much character and so beautiful. In my spare time, I love to take my dog on long walks and riding my horse. I also enjoy spending time with my friends.

I am hoping this role will lead to me becoming a Qualified Veterinary Nurse in the near future.

From a very young age I had my heart set on working with animals. Growing up I always had pets and in my teenage years I became very interested in veterinary care. I was lucky enough to be able to carry out my work experience at a local veterinary hospital.

After leaving school I took a 16 year detour from the path I had planned for myself- gaining experience in administration and reception duties but I finally found my way back to my childhood passion and am pleased to be working as the full time receptionist here at Vets4Pets!

Outside of work I enjoy photography and spending time with my 2 children, Husband and my Frug; Wainwright.
