Meet the Llandudno vet team

Llandudno Vets4Pets Gudrun Janssen

Gudrun Janssen Dr.med.vet CertVOphthal MRCVS

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon.
Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Ophthalmology

I studied veterinary medicine in Hannover, Germany and in Bern, Switzerland and graduated in 1998. After finishing my doctoral thesis in Virology/Immunology at the University of Berne, I moved to the UK in 1999.

I've worked in several hospital based veterinary practices in the South East of England. In 2009 I moved with my family to North Wales, where I have worked in a local small animal practice.

I have a strong interest in Veterinary Ophthalmology, obtained my RVC Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2011, and I've worked at Rutland House Referrals, St. Helen's, Liverpool, as a referral ophthalmologist.

In my spare time I enjoy family life with my partner, two children, two cats Llio and Bennie and my two guinea pigs, Rossie and Pedro.

I'm also trying to master the Welsh language.

Claudia Ribeiro MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2013 in Vila Real, in Portugal. For two and and a half years, I worked in a small animal practice in Portugal before moving to Wales in 2016. I started a post-graduate in small animal internal medicine in October 2017. I also have a particular interest in imaging (including x-rays and ultrasound).

In my spare time I like cooking, travelling and everything related to cinema. I enjoy taking long walks in the beautiful country of Wales, close to sea and mountains and I also take lessons learning to speak Welsh.

Veterinary Nurse

I was born in Stoke on Trent but lived most of my life in Manchester until moving to Llandudno in 2010. I am a qualified Veterinary Nurse and worked in a small animal practice for 14 years. After the birth of my second child, I took a slightly different career path. I am now glad to be back with my passion and joined Vets4Pets in September 2017.

I have 2 children, 2 dogs and a cat and I love cosy nights in with them all.

Vicky Yates RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1996 and worked for more than 20 years in a small animal veterinary practice in South Manchester where I took pride in building up good and lasting relationships with clients and their pets over the years.

Apart from all aspects of veterinary nursing, I also enjoyed getting involved in the training of new veterinary nurses and new members of staff. I take a special interest in weight management and care of senior pets.

I moved to North Wales in 2015 and I live with my terrier Griff and my cat Lara. I am enjoying the perks of country life.

Victoria Hillier

Head Receptionist

I was born and grew up in Windsor, Berkshire and I moved to North Wales in 2014. I have always had an interest in animals and their welfare and for two years I volunteered for a swan rescue charity in Eton which developed my passion for wild birds, in particular Owls and Swans.

I very much enjoy my role as a receptionist and although it can be challenging at times, I am broadening my knowledge of veterinary care and treatment day by day and will acquire my Veterinary Care Assistant Diploma in 2017.

In my spare time I enjoy walking and exploring the country and its hidden gems. I have a cat called Ollie, a couple of small furries and goldfish.

Receptionist

Originally from Manchester, I moved to North Wales in 2008 to study Animal Science and Medicine. I attended Glyndŵr University where I obtained a BSc Degree in Animal Sciences and have worked in many veterinary practices throughout Denbighshire as a receptionist, Veterinary Assistant and Student Nurse before moving to Dwygyfylchi in Conwy with my Husband Mark.

I’m the newest member of the Llandudno team and really enjoying my receptionist role; my interests are Animal Microbiology, Equine and Animal Health in general.

In my spare time I like to horse ride when the weather is nice. I love to bake and walk my beautiful Pomeranian named Bellè who definitely keeps me on my toes.

Receptionist

I joined the team in February 2017, having spent 20 years working in travel and jetting around the world a few times! I have always had a passion for animals, especially dogs and I am now a proud owner of a very chilled shar-pei called Brutus.

In my spare time (apart from still jetting off whenever I can) I’m a bit of a gym bunny and I completed the London Marathon in April 2017.
