Vets4Pets Llantrisant

Meet the Llantrisant vet team

Charlotte Vets4Pets Llantrisant

Charlotte (Charlie) Brereton BVM&S MRCVS

Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I have been working in the veterinary industry for 19 years. I started off as a veterinary nurse many years ago but after much hard work managed to qualify from Edinburgh University as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2011.

I started my training as a veterinary nurse in Companion Care (Vets4Pets) in Cardiff Bay and have finally achieved my dream to own a veterinary practice here in Llantrisant so I feel my journey has been long but has taken me in a full circle!

I have a miniature pinscher called Zorro who is obsessed with food and a Jack Russell called Lady who is obsessed with squeaky toys.

I love all my patients and treat them as if they were my own. I feel that the most important thing to offer in a practice is a solid and trusting relationship with my clients when they need me most.

I look forward to welcoming you to the practice.

Ruth Falcon MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria University in 2009. I worked in Gran Canaria for four years in different small animal practices. It was always my dream to eventually work in the UK so in 2013 I took the big step and moved her.

I have a cross breed dog called Laika who lives in Gran Canaria with my parents.

I like all aspects of my job but am particularly interested in dermatology.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, photography and rollerblading.

Rachel Rees RVN

Senior Veterinary Nurse

I joined the team in Llantrisant in June 2014. I have been working in the veterinary industry since 2004 and qualified with a degree in Veterinary Nursing in July 2007. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary nursing, especially dentistry and have a BVNA Veterinary Nurse Certificate in Dentistry. I have had pets since I was a young child and at the moment I have a handsome black and white cat called Domidic.

Stephanie Portway RVN

Veterinary Nurse

I qualified from Pencoed college as a veterinary nurse in Jan 2001. I obtained a nursing certificate in small animal dentistry in 2006 after gaining an interest in this area. Whilst enjoying all aspects of this vocation for nearly 20 years I have particular interests in client care, particularly preventative healthcare for pets as well as the dentistry and assisting vets with complex surgeries. I also enjoy my role as a clinical coach with nurse training.

At home I have two dogs, one cat, two guinea pigs and a tortoise and enjoy the variety and different personalities each one of them brings to my family.

June Davies

I joined the team at Llantrisant when the surgery opened in September 2012.

My previous role was a receptionist at the Cats Protection adoption centre in Bridgend. Whilst at the centre I got to see many unwanted and abandoned cats find their new forever home. I was also lucky to foster some feral kittens whilst at the centre this was a hugely satisfying and rewarding time for me to think I helped in some small way to give an animal a better chance in life. I currently live with my husband Terry and our two cats called Trixie and Duffy. I adore all animals and love nothing more than welcoming all our clients and their pets to the surgery.

Helen Randall

I joined the team in July 2014. I have been working for the last six years as a receptionist in a Doctor's surgery. I have two dogs called Buster and Wally and two cats called Polo and Wizzle.

In my spare time I enjoy motorcycling and weekends away in the family camper van.

Katie Lawrence

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

I joined the Llantrisant team in June 2014 but have been working in practice since April 2013.

I hope to start my training as veterinary nurse in September 2014. I have a keen interest in all types of surgery and animal behaviour.

I have a naughty dog called Ellie who is a Jack Russell X and a cat called Meg which are both rescues.
