BVSc BSc MRCVS
Head Veterinary Surgeon and Director of Loughborough Vets4Pets
What is your favourite animal and why:
Marmosets – tiny little monkeys from the amazon rainforest. They are very small but all look like really old human beings. Close second are lemurs!
What pets do you have and what are their names:
Yoshi – cat, Sid – 3 legged fat cat. He is on a diet but one of our neighbours feeds him (he tries to tell me that he leaves food out for the hedgehogs but I’m always seeing Sid eating it!)
What's the best pet name that you've ever come across:
Definitely Sizzle the sausage dog
What is your favourite famous animal:
Chewbacca – does that count?
What's the best aspect of working for Vets4Pets:
Being able to run a veterinary practice how we as a team want in order to provide the best service and care for our clients and their pets. Seeing a variety of different species also helps to keep the day interesting – although it makes it a bit more hectic!
Professional back ground:
I qualified from the University of Bristol in 2003 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a degree in Zoology.
I have worked in a variety of large and small animal practices across Leicestershire since qualifying and worked with cats, dogs, rabbits, cows, horses, sheep, pigs, alpacas, guinea pigs, chinchillas, marmosets and lots of other creatures.
I started Loughborough Vets4Pets in 2013 and have greatly enjoyed working with the pets and people of Loughborough.
I enjoy being a general practitioner and dealing with all sorts of pets and their different ailments but I do have a lot of interest in treating skin and ear problems. I am also currently studying for further qualifications in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery in order to offer more solutions for our patients without the need for referral.
