Vets4Pets Middleton

Meet the Middleton vet team

Dan Obreja

Veterinary Surgeon & Partner

I am the Joint Venture Partner and a Veterinary Surgeon here at the Middleton practice. Since opening the practice in 2014 I have enjoyed watching it grow into a great place to work, with many wonderful clients

I graduated in 2009 and I started work as a vet in small animal practices. My journey with Vets4pets started in 2011 and I knew then I wanted to become a Joint Venture Partner. Running my own practice brings many challenges but the best part of being a partner is being able to run the practice with the support that I need which still enables me to focus on the clinical side and care of my patients.

Overall, I think I am very lucky. I’m doing a job that I love, treating small animals with gentle, safe and effective therapies. I meet amazing, caring and inspiring people every day; people profoundly concerned for the welfare of the animal members of their families.

Outside of work I am always researching and keeping up to date on what is new in Veterinary Medicine. I have a Japanese Akita called Hatchi and we love going for walks together. I also enjoy reading and love a good story.

Agnieszka Kurek

Veterinary Surgeon

Hello, my name is Agnieszka but my work friends call me Aggie. I graduated in May 2016 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine at the School of Life Sciences, Warsaw in Poland. I moved to the UK in June 2017, where I worked for a Pharmaceutical company before starting my work with Vets4Pets Middleton in 2018.

I am very enthusiastic about my consults with my clients and their pets. I love investigating the cause of their health issues and adapting my approach to each individual client.

Outside of work I love to travel, exploring Europe and I enjoy skiing. I am also currently learning Italian.

Gentiana Balasoiu

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in July 2014 at the University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest. I have always had a passion for animals and their welfare and never thought about doing anything else, my career as vet puts me in a position to become an advocate for animal welfare and the best care they deserve.

During my time at university I volunteered for 4 years as a vet assistant in an emergency clinic and small animal practice. After I qualified I started work as a vet in a first opinion practice, I was there for 4 years before moving to the UK to start my work with Middleton Vets4Pets.

In my spare time I love to travel, going to the cinema and I love to listen to music.

Michelle Lyon

Head Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a nurse in 2015 and have been at a few practices experiencing all different types of animals. I love being a registered veterinary nurse and meeting all the lovely clients and their pets. My favourite part of the job is nursing the animals in the kennels making sure they are happy and comfortable.

At home I have two crazy guinea pigs and a black Labrador called Barney. I love going on long walks with Barney and he loves chasing a ball into all the dirtiest puddles almost as much as he loves food.

In my spare time you will usually find me at the cinema catching up on all the latest films.

Kay Mee

Veterinary Nurse

As a child; my love of animals would predict that one day I would work with them. I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1999 and have been with the Middleton branch since August 2018.

I love the variety of work that is involved within this profession, no day or case is the same and I enjoy the daily interaction between both the clients and their pets. My particular interests are animal behaviour and dealing with senior patients.

Outside of work I am kept busy with 2 young children, a loopy Cavapoo called Buddy, a snooty British Short Hair called Hettie and guinea pigs Bert and Ernie. I enjoy the outdoors, especially camping, walking and mountain biking and also live music concerts, the theatre and socialising with friends.

Madalina Ardeleanu

Practice Manager

I have always wanted to work with animals ever since an early age and working at Vets4Pets has given me the opportunity to meet lots of new people in the area and of course meet all their lovely pets.

I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience. I like to read, I like to talk, I like good books and romantic movies. I like the land and the nature, I like people and I like to laugh.

Michelle Hanvey

Head Client Care Advisor

I have been with Vets4pets since June 2017 and started my journey here as a Receptionist. I love meeting all of the clients and their pets each day, old or new I really enjoy being a part of their care. Each day always brings something new and exciting and it is always a pleasure to help everyone.

My love of animals led to my choice of study in Animal Care and Animal Management at Hopwood Hall College, after college I worked in the retail sector for a while before coming back to the area I enjoy best.

I have two dogs of my own, Juke the Shar Pei and Bilbo the French Bulldog. Juke is a gentle soul who loves to play with other dogs and enjoys a good long sleep. Bilbo is a very mischievous Frenchie and loves to run around with toys in his mouth, usually they are not his!

My free time is usually spent with my family, we like to go for walks with the dogs and enjoy trips out to new places. I have a keen interest in photography and love taking photos of wildlife and natural landscapes. I also love a good film and I am always visiting the cinema to see the latest releases. Reading is also one of my favourite pastimes, my all-time favourite book is The Lord of The Rings trilogy and I love it when I find a book I can’t put down.

Client Care Advisor

I am still fairly new in my role as Receptionist here. Having joined the team in early 2018, each day is different and offers new opportunities to learn. I have a lifelong passion for animals and love getting to meet all our patients and the humans who belong to them.

At home I have my tortoise George. George has the biggest personality and he knocks on his vivarium to tell me when it’s time for cuddles and walks around the house. We also have Alfie the Budgie, he loves to sing.

When I’m not working I like to spend time with my family. You’ll usually find me reading or watching musicals. If I’m not doing that then I’ll be playing with my young niece, who loves to hear all about the animals we get to meet here.
