Meet the Peterborough vet team

Cees Veterinary Surgeon JVP Vets4Pets Peterborough Vets4Pets Bretton

Cees Bennett VetMB MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon and Partner

Having grown up on a farm in Wales I always wanted to be a vet and care for animals. That led me on to spend 6 years as an Army vet gaining some amazing experiences and skills, but I knew eventually I wanted my own surgery to provide the level of care I believe is important for both pets and their owners.

For the last 3 years I have worked hard to build a great reputation for pet and client care at Vets4Pets Peterborough and I am really excited to now offer this same quality care to a new area with our excellent new surgery. I look forward to greeting everyone soon.

Veterinary Surgeon and Partner

My love of animals started at a very young age; where as I grew up I had a strong interest in science and this led me to study to become a vet at Bristol University.

Since then I have gained experience working at several small animal surgeries and I was thrilled to join the Vets4Pets Peterborough team in January 2013, where I have been able to provide the high quality of care I strive for, with a friendly, personal service. I became a partner later that year when we also had the exciting opportunity to open our sister practice in Bretton.

I enjoy all aspects and the variety of veterinary practice but have a particular interest in internal medicine and imaging such as ultrasound. I enjoy building relationships with my patients and their owners, treating each patient as an individual and I look forward to getting to know you and your much loved family pets.

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2011 and started at Vets4Pets in 2014. I enjoy working with all kinds of animals but have a special interest in dentistry, ophthalmology and looking after our older pets.

Just like people, I think that our pets are only as old as they feel! At home, I have two Springer Spaniels, called Cleo and Nero, and we do agility and heel work together. I also have a ginger cat, called Cairo, who is very naughty!

I joined the Vets4Pets team in March 2016 and originally qualified in Poland in 2012. I have worked in small animal practices in Poland and Canada before moving to UK. I am enthusiastic about all aspects of veterinary practice with special emphasis on critical care and feline medicine. I am fluent in both English and Polish and take pleasure in camping and hiking with my dog Tami.

Donna Smith

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in March 2005 and have worked at Vets4Pets Peterborough since March 2011.

In 2015, I completed the British Veterinary Nursing Associations Certificate in Advanced Wound Management and I have a special interest in nursing difficult and severe wounds. This can sometimes be a long process but is one of the most rewarding parts of the job!

I also like assessing and nursing wildlife cases, including ducklings and hedgehogs, and work with local charities to fundraise and run subsidised neutering events.

Outside of work, I enjoy roller skating, baking and relaxing with a good book.

Helen Connor

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have been qualified as a veterinary nurse for over thirteen years. I always wanted to become a veterinary nurse and previously worked in agriculture and at Woodgreen Animal Shelter.

Even when work is really busy, it is always great to stop and catch up with our patients and receive a much needed cuddle or lick!

In 2015, I completed an advanced diploma in Canine Behaviour Management and really enjoy working with dogs and their owners when dealing with behaviour issues.

Away from work, I am kept busy with my camera-shy, Border Collie called Sham (short for Shambles). She is a rescue dog who suffers from noise phobias. I have a real soft spot for this breed as she is my third rescue Collie!

My husband and I moved onto a narrowboat in 2015 and have spent our first year learning how to navigate and enjoy the waterways whilst appreciating the wildlife from a whole different angle!

I joined the team in November 2014 and have been a qualified Veterinary Nurse since 2007. At home, I have two cats of my own; a tabby called Chester and a black and white one called Marlon. As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I can offer advice on nutrition, preventative healthcare, dental treatment and much more. In particular, I enjoy working with orthopaedic cases and have a special interest in feline behaviour.

Animal Care Assistant

Although I have enjoyed working as a receptionist at Vets4Pets, I’ve always wanted to get more involved with nursing and caring for our patients. In 2016, I changed uniforms and am now an Animal Care Assistant! Next year, I am hoping to enrol as a student Veterinary Nurse. At home, I have two Staffordshire Bull Terriers, called Meg and Norra, and a Chinchilla called Zeus.

Student Veterinary Nurse

I am currently studying veterinary nursing at the College of Animal Welfare and am a bit unusual in that I am a mature student! I love getting hands on with intensive nursing cases and my favourite breeds are Pugs, Frenchies and Boston Terriers!

When I’m not at work, I love travelling with my friends, keeping fit and trampolining!

I joined Vets4Pets in 2016 on a year long placement as part of my student veterinary nurse course at Hartpury College. I love all aspects of nursing but exotic animals are my favourite and at home I have a terrapin called Fred.

I joined the Vets4Pets Peterborough Team in December 2015 and it has been a pleasure meeting and greeting our clients and their pets.

I have a rescue dog called Tilly at home, who I can’t imagine life without.

I love spending time with her and taking her out for long walks. The best part of my job is that I get to cuddle animals every day and see them get better.

I have worked for Vet4Pets as a receptionist since 2011. When I started I owned one cat .... I now own four! I find the job both interesting and rewarding. Most of all I enjoy meeting and greeting clients, as well as getting to know their pets in the waiting room.

Since joining I have completed my NVQ level 3 in Customer Service and my SQP Medication qualification. I also work as a volunteer for the Peterborough branch of Cats Protection, helping cats and their owners in the local community.

I joined the Vets4Pets Peterborough team in December 2014 and look forward to meeting all the lovely pets and their owners.

I have quite a few animals at home which includes both dogs and cats. Most of which have been rescued from difficult situations.

I love meeting people, discussing their pets and really enjoy seeing them recover from illnesses and go home.
