Vets4Pets St. Austell

Meet the team

Terry Glen

Owner & Veterinary Surgeon

My name is Terry and I am the new vet at the Vets4Pets in St Austell, Cornwall.

I am very proud of our incredible new clinic; we have all the latest equipment including a digital xray machine, ultrasound and so much more! You are welcome to pop in to meet the team, enjoy a cup of coffee with us or even have a tour of the clinic. Please do bring your furry children along, we want the clinic to be a place they WANT to visit.

I graduated from Onderstepoort, University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2000 and one of my first jobs as a vet (15 years ago!) was here in St Austell. I loved the area so much that it has long been a dream of mine to return.

At the start of my career I worked in mixed practice (treating both large and small animals) but for the last 10 years I have treated only small animals.

I am passionate about providing the best available care for my patients, and nowadays it is really amazing what is possible and what we can offer...anyone who follows the Supervet would agree! Anything from MRI and CT scans to cutting-edge surgery.

I love how challenging being a vet can be with something different to deal with every day, helping pets and their owners as best I can.

In my spare time I enjoy taking my family (wife Vicki, daughter Mia and son Scott) on day trips, I love hiking, running and gardening.

Practice Manager

My husband, Terry and I moved to the UK from South Africa at the start of 2015, together with our two young children, Scott and Mia.

After 15 years in a corporate career in operations management and administration, my life is now completely different. We are living our dream in a lovely seaside village in Cornwall.

Being Practice Manager here at St Austell Vets4Pets is a whole new challenge for me, but I thoroughly enjoy the interaction with our new clients, the friendly people of St Austell, and meeting their pets.

We are a family owned business, and understand how important the best possible level of care is for your furry family members.

I joined Vets4Pets in September 2016. I graduated in Spain in 2010 and have been working in the UK since 2012. I have volunteered in various rescue hospitals and rehoming centres, worked in Kent, Bristol and Suffolk.

At home, I have a playful, young, domestic short hair cat called Tilly. I'm also passionate about behaviour and love travelling.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, cycling and swimming.

Leonor Correia MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I completed my veterinary degree at the UTAD (Portugal) in December 2014 with a master thesis at NCSU (North Carolina, USA). Soon after, I started working at INEMVET, a Veterinary Hospital in Olhão (Algarve, Portugal).

I moved to the UK in February 2017 and on the 1st of March I joined the Vets4Pets team in St. Austell. I’m currently studying towards a post graduate certificate in Small Animal Internal Medicine.

Beyond my daily veterinary activities, I enjoy doing all kinds of sporting activities, exploring the outdoors, reading and going to the cinema. At my parents’ house in Portugal, I have two dogs: one Rafeiro Alentejano called Cortês, who loves to dig holes and a German Shepherd called Sissi, who loves to eat.

Lorna Hewlett RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I joined the practice in October 2017 after making a big move down from London. I completed my training and became a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in 2011.

Since then, I have gone on to complete the ISFM feline friendly diploma and have encouraged all staff to embrace the cat friendly handling techniques.

Tania Russell

Veterinary Care Assistant

I joined the practice in November 2016. I have always loved animals and have had the privilege of working in both mixed and small animal practices, and I love what I do. I currently have two Labradors, two cats (all rescued) and a horse. In my spare time I enjoy horse riding and walking my dogs on the beach.

Rachel Stephen

Head Receptionist

I developed a love of animals after volunteering in various animal centres whilst travelling in Africa and Eastern Europe, including one memorable experience working in a sanctuary for rescued brown bears! On my return, I began working as a reception supervisor in a children’s soft play centre, but my heart has always been with animals which is why I am so proud to start my new career with Vets4Pets.

I love meeting our clients and their pets, and look forward to seeing new faces every day! As front of house, I will always make sure clients are met with a friendly face and receive the best possible care.

In my spare time I enjoy baking and decorating cakes, and exploring the Cornish countryside with my German Shepherd, Sadie.

In 2015, I turned my life upside down by leaving my seven year career in retail to pursue my dream of working with animals. I will be working here part time, as a receptionist, while I finish my degree in Wildlife Education and Media.

My free time is spent painting, socialising and spending as much time as possible outdoors with nature.

My Labrador / Springer Spaniel puppy, Todd, usually accompanies me on my outdoor adventures'.
