Our Advanced Veterinary Services
Did you know...
We are a RCVS accredited Small Animal Veterinary Hospital
Advanced Ultrasound & X-Rays
We offer advanced ultrasounds and x-rays here in practice. To find out more, call us in practice or click on the enquire button.
Ultrasound scanning allows examination of and identifies changes in your pets' internal organs. It is commonly used to assess organs in the abdomen such at the bladder, kidneys and liver. It can also be used to assess the heart.

CT Scanner in Practice
We are pleased to be able to offer non-invasive diagnostic imaging here in practice through our state of the art CT scanner.
With our state-of-the-art CT scanner, we can see inside pets which enables us to provide a more accurate and timely diagnosis of both routine and potentially life-threatening conditions. Pets will need to be sedated or anaesthetised for a short time and will have a fully trained CT veterinary team member on hand to ensure that they receive the best possible care during their time with us.

Laparoscopic Services - Keyhole Surgery
Laparoscopic surgery, otherwise known as keyhole surgery, is a minimally invasive abdominal surgery where small surgical incisions are made rather than the more common larger skin incision. Small cameras and fine instruments allow the veterinary surgeon to perform a range of procedures such as:
- Ovariectomy/Ovariohysterectomy (Spay)
- Removal of retained abdominal testicles
- Organ biopsies
- Bladder stone removal
- Gastropexy (to prevent twisting of the stomach)

Orthopaedic Surgery
Our surgeons are trained and equipped to offer our clients a broad range of basic as well as advanced orthopaedic procedures such as:
- Fracture repairs (simple as well as complex)
- Arthroscopic joint surgery (elbows and knees)
- Cruciate ligament rupture surgery (TPLO, CBLO)
- Medial Patella Luxation surgery
- Hip dislocation surgery (Hip Toggle)
- Arthrodesis (fusion of joints)
- Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Disease surgery(IVDD) (Hemilaminectomy)

Caitlin grew up in East London, a small coastal town on the Southeastern border of South Africa. From a young girl, she always dreamed of pursuing a career in which she could work with and help animals on a daily basis. This dream became a reality when she was accepted into vet school in Onderstepoort, South Africa. She qualified in 2019, whereafter she practiced in a rural community in the Eastern Cape.
When the opportunity arose to broaden her horizons and move to England, she snatched at that chance and moved to Colchester at the beginning of 2021 with her partner, Dr. Damon Knoop (also a veterinary surgeon at Vets4Pets). She has a soft spot for welfare work and has 3 rescue animals (Rey, Kylo and Nixi). She is currently completing a certificate in emergency medicine, surgery and critical care. She is passionate about the adventure that awaits each day at Vets4Pets Colchester clinic, and looks forward to meeting the community and their precious furry friends.

Damon grew up in a small town in South Africa called Benoni. Damon has had a love for animals all his life and pursued a career in veterinary science after job shadowing at his local vet practice for a number of months.
