I grew up locally in Leicester. Having always loved animals, I wanted to be a Vet from a young age, inspired by Sir David Attenborough who had attended my College. I qualified from Bristol Veterinary School in 1994. I have extensive experience in all aspects of general practice with a strong emphasis on soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. I take great pride in the high level of service and clinical excellence we offer here at Leicester Central Vets4Pets. I am married and have two children. In my spare time I read and run, and I am known to do the odd half marathon!

I have always loved animals but never had the opportunity to own one; so I thought being a vet was one of the ways I would be able to help and work with animals for a long term career. I graduated from Nottingham Vet School in 2016 and have a keen interest in soft tissue surgery. My favourite animals are dogs, dolphins and Red Pandas. The best animal name I have come across in practice is ‘Straw’ – which sounded unusual until you learnt the other cat was called Berry! In my spare time I am passionate about dance, travelling and hobby photography.

Since graduating from the RVC in 2008 I have worked in a variety of small animal and mixed veterinary practice. I have taken a year to work as a locum RVN, giving me an insight into a wide range of practices and their staff. Since qualifying I have completed the Certificate in Feline Nursing and a Certificate in Canine and Feline Veterinary Nutrition. My passion is nutrition, and I enjoy running nutrition clinics at our practice. I have a menagerie of animals at home – 3 dogs, a hand-reared cat, 2 guinea pigs and a horse. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my 2 children and my animals, whilst attempting to keep fit! I love animals with human names, so a cat called Kevin is a good name I have come across!

I am studying for my FdSc veterinary nursing degree at Nottingham Trent University and am carrying out my final year long placement at Leicester Central Vets4pets. I love the nursing element and caring for peoples fur babies. I have two cats of my own, Minty and Morris. My secret hobbies are playing darts and coaching at my local competitive cheerleading programme. My favourite animals are penguins, due to their cute waddle. I also think if monkeys could talk it would be terrifying; you know how planet of the apes turned out.

Being a receptionist at a vets is such a rewarding job. No day is ever the same and how can you not be happy with getting cuddles from different animals! It is amazing being able to meet new furry family members and to see them start off their lives and grow with their new families. I enjoy welcoming our regular customers and hearing what their cheeky pets have been up too. I have always wanted to work with animals and I get so much joy from meeting them all at our practice. My favourite animal is a snow leopard, and in my spare time I will most likely be in rehearsals for a show, as I love musical theatre. The best animal name I’ve come across so far would have to be Porkchop the cat!

Being a receptionist here at Vets4Pets means I get to meet everybody’s furry friends, and have cheeky cuddles with them too! I have always loved animals, and getting to meet all your four-legged family members is such a rewarding part of my job! If I had to pick just one favourite animal it would definitely be a Giraffe, unfortunately we don’t see any of those here! I have a big softie of a dog named Harley, and when I’m not spending my spare time buying him treats, I enjoy travelling, gaming, and cooking. I’m a huge Game Of Thrones fan, so if you ever see me at the desk, stop by and talk to me about it, because I’m the only member of staff that watches it!

Working as a Receptionist in Vets4Pets allows me to meet and play with a variety of different pets, which is definitely the highlight of my day! My favourite animals are horses, which stems from my time as a child playing with My Little Pony toys. In the past I have had pet cats, rabbits, gerbils and a chicken; but at the moment my partner and I have a lovable daft old dog. In my spare time I volunteer as a Unit Helper with the Girlguides, I enjoy travelling, snowboarding and keeping active. I’m also helping to renovate and convert a huge barge into a house boat, which is going to take a lot of work. I think the animal that would be most terrifying if it could speak would be a fly… imagine all the secrets it could tell!

I have worked for various practices within the Vets4Pets group for 6 years now as a Receptionist and puppy and Kitten cuddling is the highlight of my job! I am a Season Ticket holder for Leicester City (hence some of the cats names!). The best animal name I've come across is "Sizzle" for a Dachshund. I have 4 cats, 3 long haired moggies and a Maine Coone, named Benson, Leo, Elsie(FC) & Casper.
