Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon
BSc(Hons) BVSc MVM MRCVS
I qualified from the University of Bristol, and worked in Scotland and Northern Ireland while completing a master’s degree in conjunction with The Donkey Sanctuary. Six years ago took the brave leap to start out on my own after the birth of my first child Nicholas, since then I have had another two children, James and Isabelle. I also have a degree in animal behaviour and welfare, something I am truly passionate about. With this in mind making sure that trips to the vets are as stress free as possible for pets and their owners is always at the front of my mind. This is especially true of my feline patients, who’s unique needs are often overlooked or misunderstood. I am proud to say that my practice in Northern Ireland to achieve Gold standard Cat Friendly status. My other interests include palliative care and surgery. I live in Lisburn with my husband, and three beautiful children, with our cat Ember.
Fionnuala worked in London for 5 years before returning home and has worked with ourselves for 2 years. At home Fionnuala has two cats Matt and Sophie.
Lesley graduated from Greenmount College in 2008. After spending several years working in various practices Lesley decided to join our team.
Cathy has worked in Veterinary for over 30 years, Cathy joined our practice in 2019 she brings a wealth of knowledge to our practice and has been a great benefit to us, she is very focused on helping her clients keep their pets as happy and healthy as possible Cathy volunteered at a Baboon orphanage in Africa and thoroughly enjoyed her time there. Outside of work Cathy loves to read and spend time with the gorgeous Eddie and Florence.
Having grown up with animal all my life, I thrive in the veterinary environment. My background working life was management in a medical setting. My nursing career started in a small mixed veterinary practice which progressed to Emergency out of hours and a large referral hospital. I joined Longstone in 2015 and enjoy the team dynamic and being part of the Longstone community. For me, the benefits of working in Longstone are the purpose built individual wards for dogs and cats which makes a huge difference to the stress levels of inpatients. I am passionate about animal welfare and treat every patient as I would my own. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and 2 dogs George and Pringle. When time allows I volunteer with Street paws who provide free accessible vet care and kennel provision to homeless people and those in crisis.
I have worked for Vets4Pets since 2015. I enjoy all aspects of my job and meeting all your fur babies. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my young family Fynn, Matthew, Olivia and our own fur babies Penny our miniature schnauzer and our little hamster Harry.
Nicola has worked at Vets4Pets Lisburn Longstone for 4 years, overall worked in Veterinary Practice for very nearly 30 years.
