Hi, I’m Eric and I’m the Partner and Senior Vet here at Rotherham Vets4Pets. I wanted to be a Vet from a very early age and have always loved being around animals. I gained my Veterinary degree at The University of Madrid and very soon after made the UK my permanent home. I have a particular passion for surgery and whilst working as a full time vet in a small animal hospital, I achieved my Certificate in Small Animal Surgery accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. I am also an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in small animal surgery. I have previously run a successful Soft Tissue Referral Service in Doncaster and I’m excited to now offer a range of referral services here in Rotherham and the surrounding areas. I live in Doncaster with my Wife and two young children and our newest addition Saffy the Cocker Spaniel. As a pet owner myself, I am passionate about providing the highest standards of care for the animals that I treat and their owners.

Originally from near Doncaster, I studied at the University of Bristol where I graduated in June 2020 (virtually over Zoom thanks to Covid!) before returning home to the North to begin my first job here at Rotherham Vets4Pets. I love all of our furry friends and I’m enjoying all aspects of small animal practice but have particular interests in feline medicine and ophthalmology. Outside work I enjoy walking in the Peaks, baking, running and playing the piano, as well as spending time with my new rescue kitten Norman!

From a very young age I knew I wanted to work with animals. At the age of 15 I got my first veterinary care assistant job after school and at the weekends to help to pay for the upkeep of my then pony Molly. This opportunity gave me great knowledge in the industry and I decided I would like to start training to become a veterinary nurse. I began my degree in 2012 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2015. I have a keen interest in surgical nursing and also nutrition. What is your favourite animal and why? It is too hard for me to choose just one favourite animal, as I love them all! What pets do you have and what are their names? I have a 16 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Naz, he is a cuddly boy! A 12 year old white cat called Trinity who I hand reared and a black and white cat called Frank who is approximately 7 years old- he adopted me! What's the best pet name that you've ever come across? Ann-bun-lyn & Mary Hopins! two rabbits What's the best aspect of working for Vets4Pets? We are a very friendly team and are all dedicated to the work we do. It makes it a pleasure to be at work.

I started working in the veterinary industry in 2001 as a veterinary assistant. I wanted to train to be a Registered Veterinary Nurse from the beginning. I gained a lot of experience & knowledge throughout this time & I was finally given the opportunity to start my Nursing diploma. I have now been qualified for over 4years. My favourite areas are theatre work & nurse consultations.

I am also very interested in Canine Behaviour & Training, I am currently doing ongoing courses in the area & hopefully will also be a qualified dog behaviour specialist soon.
In my spare time I enjoy going on long walks & training with my family of pooches, as you can see, Rottweilers are my favourite breed, but I have a soft spot for any with 4 legs & a waggy tail ☺️ I also enjoy going on ride outs on my motorbike with my biker buddies & going to watch the ice hockey - Sheffield Steelers being my number 1 team.
