RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in General Small Animal Surgery (Soft tissue and Orthopaedics) Emma qualified from the RVC London in 2003 and worked in a large practice group in Berkshire until her move to Wales in 2009. Here she joined a local practice as Clinical Director and Clinical Coach until 20015 when she moved into a Principle Vet role for a busy emergency and critical care provider. She achieved her advanced surgical certificate in 2015 and her Certificate in Veterinary Professional Studies in 2016, the same year she was accepted onto the RCVS Advanced Practitioner list as a general surgeon, joining only a small number of surgeons in Wales with this qualification. She enjoys all aspects of surgery but particularly different methods of canine cruciate repair, difficult fractures and BOAS surgery.

Antun was born in Osijek, Croatia and ran his own veterinary clinic for 25 years before moving to the UK in 2018. He graduated from Zagreb University in 1992 then studied immunology and earned his Master’s degree in companion animal medicine. Having worked in a variety of small animal clinics in Europe and the UK, Antun has settled in South Wales with his wife Ivana, daughter Anja, their two Weimaraners and four cats. Apart from veterinary medicine Antun enjoys drawing, and science fiction.

Kimberley qualified from Bridgend as a registered veterinary nurse in 2013 where she was working in a large veterinary hospital in Bridgend. She then spent a year and a half working nights in an out of hours emergency and critical care practice, before taking up the head nurse role at Cross Hands. Kimberley is our clinical coach who trains our student nurses, and is also planning to start teaching veterinary nursing students a few hours a week in Coleg Sir Gar starting in September. She enjoys all aspects of nursing particularly surgery, anaesthesia, wound management and clinics. Kimberley is kept busy with her border collie named Finn, and is currently planning her wedding. She loves to travel and doesn’t need any excuse to explore somewhere new, preferably with some sun!

Jess is now a fully qualified and registered veterinary nurse, who works full time alongside our head nurse, Kim. Jess lives in Swansea with her parents and has 3 dogs and 2 cats who keep her busy at home. She is particularly interested in critical care nursing and anaesthesia.

Bex is originally from America but has lived in the UK for many years. After a long spell in marketing at a large local company she realised her passion for animals and joined a Swansea veterinary group as a receptionist. From there she worked her way up to Animal care assistant and took her qualification in 2016. From here she was accepted onto the veterinary nursing degree course and she is currently in her second year at Gwent college. She lives in Swansea with her husband and mad Jug, Frank Junior! Bex enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing.

I'm a happy friendly outgoing person and love  all animals great and small.

When I'm not working I'm rushing around with my family and looking after my own animals.

Shelley lives locally in with her rescue dogs and family. She runs a dog walking and boarding business when not working in the Vets and has previously worked in practices in England before moving to Wales over a year ago. She is a qualified microchip implanter and also has additional qualifications in canine behaviour. Shelley is also a vegan and makes amazing vegan cakes and goodies!

Hannah is a Foundation Degree graduate in Animal Science & Welfare, also previously completed her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management. Before starting at Vets4Pets Cross Hands Hannah has previously worked in the pet industry for many years, by working within a well-established Pet Store, where she gained further knowledge and hands on experience about caring for a vast range of animals. Hannah has a rescue medium sized cross breed dog named Marnie, she will lick everyone to death if you gave her the chance! Another household pet is Hannah’s hand reared budgie named Sprites who loves to chat and thinks he’s human! Outside of work Hannah loves to participate in fitness activities including dancing and fun runs, which some have been completed to support different charities.

Surgeries usually take place Monday to Friday but we can arrange routine operations on a Saturday with enough notice.

You will be given an admit time between 9am and 10.30am then will return to collect your pet, again you will be given a time slot, between 4pm and 7pm.

If you would like to look at our day wards, surgical theatre or anywhere your pet may be during the day please ask and we will happily show you around.

    Unlike humans, dogs need to be under general anesthesia for dental X-rays. Anesthesia is considered to be a safe procedure and will be performed after a general examination. It is tailored to the individual and your dog is continuously monitored during the dental exam.
