Shauna Gavin
Veterinary Surgeon
MVB MRCVS

I joined the team at Vets4Pets Halesowen as a vet in February 2019.
I graduated in Veterinary Medicine in Spain in 2018. I took my first steps as a professional vet in two Small Animal and Exotic surgeries. I also had the opportunity to do a small animal volunteering programme in the Autonomous University of Barcelona Vet Hospital for six months which I really enjoyed and where I improved my vet skills.
My passion for helping animals took me to a local animal shelter in Spain. There, I saw some of the hardships that abandoned and sick animals can go through and I had the chance to help them.
I enjoy everything about my job as a vet, but I have a particular interest in surgery and my true love are cats. I really miss my grumpy fluffy cat Ricky and my turtle, who live in Spain at the moment.
Traveling is one of my passions. My boyfriend Jordi and I love exploring new places together and enjoying time in any lost, hidden beach from Costa Brava in Spain!
Outside of work, I love having a bit of time to switch off and relax doing some exercise and dancing (I’m an ex-dancer). I’m a real Netflix fan and I really enjoy cooking and trying new recipes in my free time.

I have joined the team at Vets 4 Pets Halesowen as a senior vet in September 2019.
Having originally graduated from Lisbon University in Portugal, I soon developed a keen interest in small animal behavioural medicine. This led me to Sydney to study directly with one of the most reputable professionals in the field, Dr Kersti Seksel. That proved to be a defining moment in my career as her teachings lay the foundations of my work in the field to this day. I have since been able to help hundreds of cats and dogs with psychological disorders experiencing calmer, more satisfying lives. I find these cases extremely rewarding and I accept internal and external referrals in the field on a daily basis.
I have called the UK my home since 2016. Since then, I got married to my long-term university girlfriend and together we’ve adopted our 2 baby girls – Panda, the mischievous cat and Marmalade, the world’s sweetest dog.
My non-veterinary passion is Yoga – I have been practicing traditional yoga for almost a decade and teaching for 6 years. So, if you can’t find me at the Practice, I’m either enjoying the English outdoors with my doggie or teaching a yoga class nearby.

My name is Gemma. I have had the privilege of working with animals since leaving school to study the national diploma in applied science animal managment at solihull college. My career with animals has been a varied one, ranging from rearing calves, to kittens!

My name is Joanne or JoJo as I'm called by my team members. I qualified as a Animal Nursing Assistant in 2017 and I have worked in practice for 5 years.

Client Care Advisor

I first began working at Vets4Pets at the start of 2018, where I was Practice Manager at Solihull. In 2019, I was given the opportunity to join the team here at Halesowen, and my time is now spent between the 2 pracitces.
I had spent the previous 11 years as a Qualified Veterinary Nurse. My main passion within this profession has always been for patient and client care, I now have the chance to really give the best care to clients as well as their pets.
I currently have 5 cats, all but one are hand reared rescues that came to my place of work. You will see me around the practice, so I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
Vets4Pets Halesowen is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, full laparoscopic kit, endoscopy and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
